♥️Happy New Year♥️
[Claire]
I barely slept because of all the things that were on my mind, I just kept on tossing and turning.
I finally fell asleep just as the day was about to break, I was very exhausted and I felt like I just passed out because I had no control over my eyes, they just closed on their own.
I wasn't going to work the following day so I wasn't too bothered about that.
"Claire, wake up, why are you still asleep at this time?" My mother stood over my bed as she spoke.
I groaned and I tried to turn on my other side immediately but my big belly created a kind of hindrance and I could not turn away from her immediately.
"I couldn't get any sleep last night." I groaned and opened my eyes.
The smell of breakfast woke me harder than her voice could and I sat up in bed immediately.
My mouth was already watering and my stomach was rumbling.
My baby was hungry.
"I know, that's why I kept some breakfast for you." She sighed and sat at the edge of my bed. "How are you feeling?"
"Hungry." I smiled and took the tray from her as she sat down. "Thanks mom."
"Have you figured out what you're going to do?" She asked.
"We talked mom, it's all taken care of." I said and avoided her question by shoving a huge piece of food in my mouth.
"I just hope you know that you can talk to me about anything." She looked at me sadly and ran her fingers through my hair.
I must look like a mess right now.
"Of course, I know mom." I said and gave her a hug.
Then something Jean said came to my mind and I paused eating and turned to her.
"What's your relationship with father now?" I asked.
"W-what, what do you mean?" She stuttered and nearly jumped off the bed nervously.
"And you want me to talk to you." I murmured as I kept eating my food.
"I'm sorry dear." She apologized. "My relationship with your father is just really a sensitive issue and it just makes me nervous every time, I feel like I'm doing a bad thing, something wrong, like I don't belong here." She said and I gasped.
"No." I frowned. "That can't be farther from the truth, you belong here, you've always been here and though I can't assume that I know much about the nature of your relationship but I know that you too care for each other at least and y'all are both single then why not mingle." I said and she chuckled.
"He wants to." She confessed and looked away from me. "But I-I'm just old." She whispered the last part and then I understood her hesitance.
She felt like she was not sophisticated enough for him and she was insecure about her aging.
A smile spread across my face as a solution crept into my mind.
The solution was ideal for her and for me because it would kept me from going crazy before my friends got here and it guaranteed would boost her self esteem.
"You're going to get a makeover." I told her and she gasped.
She stared at me with her eyes and mouth widely open.
"W-what do you mean, I've never done that before." She looked unsure.
"Doesn't matter ma, trust me I'll take care of everything and you'll end up looking more stunning than you already do." I said and hugged her tightly. "We're gonna need to get rid of the turban though." I said and she looked at me with uncertainty.
"It's r-religion, important to me." She said and I nodded.
"I know, I didn't mean you have to start exposing your hair, there are more trendy scarfs and headpieces you could wear to cover up." I told her and she smiled at me. "Come on, mom, I'd never change anything about you." I pulled her closer to me and gave her a big kiss on the forehead.
I wasn't a very religious person but she was and I would never take that away from her.

My mother's makeover was really interesting. After the spa, the nail salon, the hair salon and the mall, we got back home tired and exhausted and the day was barely over.
It was still 3pm.
I checked my phone when I got home and realized that I received a text from Sophie, their flight was going to touch down around 4:30 and I was just glad that I saw it now because I was already dozing off and I just knew that if I fell asleep, I would wake up pretty late.
"I have to go mom, my friends are at the airport." I told her and got up immediately.
I stopped and held the chair as a bout of nausea hit me.
I probably stood up too fast, my mother didn't even notice because she was freaking out about my dad seeing her transformation.

"You're going to leave me here, what if he comes back." She said nervously.
He had gone to the country club to chill with some of his rich friends.
"There's no need to be nervous mom, I'm sure he's going to love it, just go and prepare the surprise like I told you, my friends and I will touch down in the guest house, we'll leave the main house to you tonight." I said and winked at her as I left.
The drive to the airport was particularly free and I was glad because I arrived at the airport on time, I dashed to arrivals immediately, there were a bunch of people waiting and so I joined them.
Few minutes later, people began to rush out, I started straining my neck and soon enough, they both walked out and I rushed to embrace them.

"Michele, Sophie, you made it, oh my, it's so good to see you."
"Yeah, you too, I'm not even kidding, you look big." Michele said and I laughed.
"Awww we missed you more, child.". Sophie said.

"Okay, has he contacted you today?" Sophie asked on the drive home and I frowned.
I'd been so focused on keeping myself busy I did not have time to think about the fact that he hadn't contacted me.
"N…" my phone buzzed just as I was about to speak and I frowned when I saw the caller ID, it was Jean.
"Is that him?" Michele asked and I nodded.
"Then answer it." He urged.
"I'm driving." I said.
"And?"
"You're going to tell me that you don't know that it's dangerous to receive a phone call and drive."
"Are you kidding me right now?" He raised a brow and snatched the phone from my cup holder.
"Fine, I'll take the call."
"Mich, don't you dar—"
He picked up the call before I even finished speaking.
"Hello, Claire?" Jean's powerful voice boomed through the speakers because my phone was connected to my car stereo.
"Wrong, guess who?" Michele responded and I chuckled slightly.
"Michele?" He sounded unsure. "When did you get to America?"
Of course he wouldn't ask; when did I go to Denmark because he was freaking spying on me.
"Just now, Claire is driving us home." He replied.
"Of course, you'd never leave without your twin." He said and Michele chuckled.
"Of course."
"I'm not his fucking twin, knucklehead, I'm his older sister." Sophie let out and his response was a light chuckle.
"Hello, Sophie, I was beginning to wonder when you would speak?"
"What do you want with Claire, she clearly doesn't want anything to do with you anymore."
Well, that was Sophie, savage all day.
"Sadly I can't let her go." He replied. "She's carrying the heir to the Danish throne and you of all people know how much I love her." He said and I felt my heart weep a little.
"So what is it you're saying, do you want her or just the baby?" Sophie asked and my heart began to pound in my chest.
