Chapter 25

His Weakness (Part 1):
But Vala chains uncurl itself from her wrist and hold the sword in the midair and fling it back to Athena who wasn't that fast to catch her sword. The sword hit her and sent her flying back.
The chains loosen a little from Vala's waist and circled Ruthless and her, putting on a cage like around them.
Athena regained her composure and tried to strike again but couldn't as the chains prevented her sword from touching Vala. Ruthless wanted to glare at Athena but Vala couldn't allow it.
"So you want to stare at another woman when you have your mate here?"
Rolling his eyes, he stared into her eyes.
"Stop," Ruthless said calmly and the sword obeyed, stopping in mid-air, and it fell down to the ground, scattering to the ground in pieces.
When he turned to stare around them, he noticed the students were outside again, all their gaze was on them.
"I don't like being the center of attention, Vala, so stop this."
"And if I don't? You cannot hurt me my Winter, I am your mate."
"But what about you hurting me? You don't care about how I feel if not you would have stopped when I asked you to."
The chains went back to their original positions.
"You see, I do care about you," Vala said with a smile.
Ruthless didn't say anything, instead he left her and went to meet Athena, he closed his eyes.
"So you left me for this ugly looking beast in human form? I am more beautiful than her, for crying out loud I am the goddess of war, Ares sister. I have been in love with you ever since you were little and I have been patiently waiting for you to grow up, hoping you'd reciprocate my love back but you didn't instead you are allowing a random girl to touch you whereas you haven't let me get that close to you. It's unfair, Ruthless." Athena poured out her feelings not caring who was listening to them. "I love you Ruthless,"
"If I were you I would shut up that dirty mouth of yours before a first do that for you," Vala said from where she was standing as she turned to face Athena.
"She doesn't love you Ruthless, I love you," Athena said, lifting up one of her hands to touch Ruthless.
"Says the goddess who is about to get beaten by me if you dare touch him," Vala chips in. "It seems the warning I gave to you the other day has vanished from your memory,"
"Ruthless, tell this hideous beast to get out of our presence before she infect our unborn children with her ugliness."
"So you would stand there and watch her insult your mate, Winter?" Vala said not that surprised though, but was hurt that Ruthless made no movement to warn Athena. "Fine, if you want the silent treatment then it's fine with me." She added and turned to leave when Athena next words stopped her right in her tracks.
"I wouldn't be so surprised that your parents abandoned you because no one will want to have a demon child like you."
"What did you just call me?" Vala asked as the crack lines in her face started glowing red, she slowly turned to face Athena, eyes filled with darkness.
"I call you a Demon, isn't that what you are? No normal supernatural creature can give birth to an ugly thing like you, one good advice from me demon, go and die."
The kick and punch wasn't what Athena was expecting, at first she thought it was Ruthless, but when she glanced at his direction, he was still closing his eyes.
Athena doged the sharp claws directed towards her neck and tried to retaliate with a punch to Vala's face but Vala caught hold of her arm and twisted it back, hard, before she let go of it.
Giving some space between herself and that or Vala, she gasped out loudly when she saw Vala.
"You're truly a demon," Athena said as she saw the eyes and claws which only belong to a Demon, smiling, "We have a demon in our midst!" Athena yelled, "Kill her!!"
The whole students who had been watching the scenario quickly attack Vala, the witches and fairies with their magic fire and the rest with their own special weapon.
All their lives, they had all been taught one thing, demons are evil. Whenever they come across a Demon, they should subdue it but their goddess has given them a go ahead to kill the demon standing in front of them.
Vala screamed out, more like a roar, painfully, when two wings started emerging from her shoulder blade.
At that time Ruthless who was in a deep slumber opened his eyes, staring at Vala and what was going on around them, he bent down and touched the ground.
Everyone halts, nothing was moving.
Slowly, the wings in Vala's shoulder started going inside as the students started moving backwards towards their position they were in before.
Vala wings and claws vanished. Ruthless stood up when Vala turned to walk away.
"I wouldn't be so surprised that your parents abandoned you because no one will want to have a demon child like you," Athena said with a smirk.
"What did you just call me?" Vala asked as the crack lines in her face started glowing red, she slowly turned to face Athena, eyes filled with darkness.
Ruthless closed the distance between them and surprisingly pulled Vala for a hug, he rested his head on her shoulder. He just knows what to do to calm down Vala.
"Ignore her my beautiful Vala, you are the only one I want, not Athena or any other woman, just you Vala."
