Chapter 27

His Weakness (Part 3):
"Okay, whatever you are going to do is fine as long as you or Vala doesn't get hurt in the end," Pula said. She remembered the first day she had seen him in the kitchen, that was after Zelik has gone and was in school, the day Vala tried to save that dragon boy from being killed. One look at him, she knows without being told that this was 'Ruthless'. She could remember that day like the back of her palm.
Flashback:
"I only came here to know who Vala stays with, I am glad she's with you and not Zelik" He had told her.
"Who are you?" She asked, pretending not to know him.
"You speak through the mind? Why not with your mouth?" Ruthless asked.
"Something terrible happened to me some years ago and I lost my tongue," she responded. "You still haven't answered my question yet." She added.
"My name is Ruthless and I am Vala's mate and I know you already know who I am already," he said. "Your aura doesn't stink, which means you are a good person and you have good intentions towards Vala."
"Vala's mother was very good to me, she was my friend, my best friend and she didn't treat me like a servant, I was treated like her sister. It's just sad that good things don't last long, that's why I made a vow, I will try my possible best and make sure Vala walks the right path."
"You know Pula, it's better you allow her to choose her path herself, it might be painful and hurt her but she will learn from her mistakes."
"You are not as fearful as the rumors say."
"That's because I made myself less intimidating to you Pula. You...... remind me of my late mum."
That was how their friendship had started. After he left her, she didn't see him until the day he had kissed Vala.
When she saw him in the living room, she was surprised.
"I thought Zelik said King Galore made it impossible for students to teleport from here."
"Yes, but I am different," Ruthless said to her.
"Now I know that, so what brings you here?"
"I came here to tell you that I poisoned Vala by mistake and I kiss her to remove the poison, I know that she will tell you once she gets home just wanted to give you heads up."
"Thanks, but I think that is not the only reason why you are here."
"You are right. When I kissed her, I sensed an enchantment on her."
"You know she's a demon right?"
"I know, even this apartment smells of her scent, I will advise never to allow anyone come in, if not her secret will be blown."
"The only person that comes here is Zelik and you," Pula said, "So what enchantment are you talking of?"
"A strong one placed on her when she was a child, concealing her true self."
"Does it mean that the Elves Queens did something to Vala's egg?"
"Probably so, and someone is behind it."
"So how can we remove the enchantment."
"To remove it one has to go to the Valley of Death to bring back the antidote." Ruthless told her. "You will have to go down there."
"A normal person cannot go there, you know whoever that enters the Valley of Death can't come back alive."
"Don't worry you will come back alive, I give you my words."
End of Flashback:
"I'm ready whenever you are."
Ruthless smiled and closed his eyes when he opened his eyes, his white eyeballs has turned into rainbows (🌈).
Pula gasped out loud in shock as she saw his spirit beast.
"Wow, this is...."
"Impressive right? He's going to take you to the Valley of Death," Ruthless said and face his spirit beast. "Make sure she returns with you, keep her safe Ice Fang."
"I don't keep to a promise as long as she's not our mate dude, but I will try to manage her." Ice Fang said and engulfed Pula with his icy smoke from his nostrils and disappeared. Once the smoke cleared, Pula was gone.
Ruthless disappeared afterwards.

It was evening...
Vala went to open the door for Zelik to come in. She already knew it was him when he had knocked.
"Any good news yet?" Zelik asked, walking in as if he owned it.
"Not yet." Vala responded as she closed the door. "It's not easy and besides, when I finally used Ruthless weakness against him, how do you expect me to remove his heart? I wouldn't be able to do that," she said. "I won't have the heart to rip his heart out."
"Don't worry, when we get to that bridge, we shall cross it." Zelik told her. "Where's Pula?"
"She traveled,"
"She traveled?" He repeated after her, "To where?"
"I don't know, I should be the one asking you, I thought she told you about her trip."
"She didn't, anyway, just focus on your task at hand, you have to do it soon. Your father's body is getting weak as the days go by and I am afraid it won't take long before he gives up and dies. I am just telling you because I want you to know the situation at hand. Find his weakness as quickly as possible and let's end everything once and for all." Zelik told her.
"I will try," Vala said.
"I will be going right now, don't open the door for anyone."
"You don't have to tell me Zelik, I can take care of myself."
"Good night."
"Night." She opened the door for Zelik to pass which he did and she locked the door after him.
Her father was dying slowly. She wondered what condition her mother would be.

Dragon Kingdom:
King Rex was surprised when he saw his August visitors. When he was told who was looking for him, he had left his chamber and had hurried down to his throne room.
"Alfy and Calfy, long time. I was surprised when I heard that you are here. I hope all is well."
"And you are still as handsome as before. You choose my sister over me and still yet, she died," queen Alfy said.
"She died because she was bringing a beautiful person to this world, my daughter. And I have always told you Alfy that I love your sister and not you."
"But still, your daughter went against your wish and went ahead to marry the Demon King who betrayed the whole supernaturals," queen Calfy said. "All those years you spent with my sister, I survived and I was happy when I heard the news of her death, I thought that after her death you'd run back to me but I was wrong."
"Is this why you are here? To talk about the past because if it is the reason then I am afraid I will walk you both out," king Rex said.
"Oh relax your bones. Your daughter Elfy child is still alive."
"I wash my hands off Elfy the day she chose to go and meet her demon mate," he said with hatred in his voice.
"Just like the way you couldn't resist our sister," Alfy said.
"My case is different, at least, my late wife was an elf and not a demon. As long as I am concerned, I have no grandchild."
"But what if we tell you we know where she is at the moment, you get to expose her identity and the people will see you as someone who is fit to rule as the King of the supernaturals. Do you know what it means when you tell the people that she's the daughter of Haule, the Demon King. Do you also know how they will feel when they find that their King knows about her identity and still hides her, grab this opportunity Rex, I wouldn't miss it if I were you." Queen Alfy told him.
"Just because I loath Elfy for defying my order and she went ahead to be with her mate doesn't change the fact that she's still my daughter, my dragon blood still runs in her vein. And if I may add, why don't you or your sister expose my granddaughter, I know you are interested in the throne."
"We could, but since I still love you, I want you to be the hero in the people's eyes and not us, and my sister agrees," queen Alfy said.
"Well I don't agree so you can both take yourselves out of my palace and kingdom."
"You are among the king's who believe that Galore is unfit to rule the kingdom, don't waste this golden opportunity presented to you Rex. Just give it a thought," queen Calfy said. "You know where to find us once you change your mind."
They left his throne room leaving King Rex in deep thought.

A woman in a dark cloak which covered her head and face appeared at the river of Abss.
She knees down and places her hands on top of the river and feels the vibration of who she seeks and connects with it.
"It's been years, how long shall I continue to be here?" Lord Daniel's voice was heard in the woman's mind. Her white eyes glowed.
"Don't worry, soon you will be out of here. I have been monitoring Zelik progress and he has been doing as you instructed. Haule's brother, Lucifer, wants to get out as soon as possible, Zelik has visited him once though he didn't tell Lucifer what had happened to you." She told him without her lips moving. "The girl has left the Land of Elves and now dwells in the kingdom of the wolves where Galore rules."
"How soon will I leave here."
"Soon, once the girl gets his heart and Zelik brings it here to you, you get his Powers and you have control over his spirit beasts and then you can free Haule. I have blocked his vision; he won't see that coming, even his death."
"You are a great genius and everything is going according to your plan."
"Yes, what about Haule?"
"His mind is like mine now, I control him. He's now my puppet and will do anything I tell him to."
"I told you before didn't I? That I will make you so powerful my son, twice as powerful as him, we haven't entered the beginning yet."
"Thank you mother."
