You Are My Obsession (Part 4):
"What do you mean by you don't know? You are Ruthless for crying out loud who ought to know everything that is going on in the supernatural," Vala said, still not getting it. How can he forget something as important as this?
"I just can't remember how I came to know about the 'Falcons', I just know that I can block them from coming into the supernatural." He told her.
"Have you tried meditating about it, you know, trying to see if you could remember something, because it just doesn't add up."
"I have done that several times, Vala, I just keep finding myself in a maze without a way out. I have stopped bothering myself about that and use the knowledge instead."
"Did your mother tell you about the 'Falcons', probably she has and you have forgotten."
"I don't recall her telling me that Vala, I don't and I am someone who doesn't easily forget something," Ruthless said. "Let's forget about that."
Vala was quiet for a while, "So could you tell me about your mother?"
"There is nothing much to talk about her, she was betrayed by my father before her death. She died heartbroken."
"Is that the reason why you don't like the 'L' word? Winter, she is gone and gone for good. She has lived her life and now it's time to live out yours. Just because she wasn't favoured in love does not mean you won't be favoured by it, you are and that's why I love you."
"It feels nice hearing that from you Vala, I wish I could say it back to you but I can't. I don't want you or me to end up like my mother or worse."
"Winter, there is something I need to tell you," Vala said, happy to have his attention to her. "I came here to make you fall in love with me and steal one of your hearts to release my father and my mother, but now I can't do it anymore. I can't hurt my mate and I don't want to see you get hurt because I fell in love with you. Mate or no Mate, I am in love with you." Telling him that lifted up a heavy weight from her shoulder. Since they were mates she doesn't want to keep anything hidden from him.
"I never expected this," Ruthless said, feeling his heart beating fast at Vala's open confession. "You don't want to betray me anymore?"
"Wanted to but I couldn't Winter, how can I hurt you, my mate. You are strong so you can me."
"Help you with what?"
"My parents. I am sorry for wanting to hurt you but I swear what I have for you is genuine," Vala said as she lifted one of Ruthless hands and placed it on her heart "Genuine Winter."
"I will try and help you release your parents."
"Thank you my love."
"My name is Winter,"
"Excuse me?" Vala asked with wide eyes.
"My real name is Winter," he said again.
"Wow, is that why you never pick any offense when I call you that name? Never knew that was your real name though, and it suits you."
"Don't tell anyone,"
"And if I do?" Vala challenged raising one of her eyebrows at him.
"You get punished,"
"What kind of punishment mister?"
Taking his time to look Vala from her hair to her laps, he licked his sudden dry lips. "Don't test me Vala, I won't hold myself," he said, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to calm his wolves.
"Your spirit beasts are really impressive and they talk, I love them already. Can I have them?"
"You have them, you are my mate so they are yours to control, but not at the moment."
"And why is that?"
"Because I still control them."
"So when can I control them?"
"Only when I die shall you have full control over them. They shall come to you bowing before you."
Vala was quiet for a minute, "I love my Jaguar, he is the best. You keep your spirit beasts and I shall keep my own."
Ruthless gave a short laugh.
"You are not angry that I wanted to kill you?" She asked, changing the topic.
"No, I know that and that's why I told you back then in school that you will betray me and I guess just like Pula had said, fate does change."
"Yeah, maybe you should also give love a second chance, it deserves it."
"I don't like showing my emotions out Vala," he said to her.
"I am not asking you to show the whole world your emotions, I am only asking you to show only me your emotions Winter. promise me you will and love me."
"I will try my best to Vala,"
"I love you my Winter." Vala told him and he nodded slowly.
Yawing, she moved closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder. "Good night my love."
"Night Vala,"
Vala slept off surrounded by the scent of her mate.

When she woke up, she saw herself on her bed, in her room, maybe he had carried her last night. No sign of Winter but his scent still lingers in her room.
She quickly jumped out of her bed and went to prepare for school. She managed to prepare a little soup and ate, missing Pula.
Once she was done, she washes her used plate and pot and keeps it before she proceeds to her school.
Entering the school compound she noticed the quietness of the place, it was then she knew she came earlier than the normal school hour. She could sense and feel the presence of her mate, heading towards the building where she knows Ruthless would be, the veil granting her an easy entry, probably because now they are soulmates.
Gasping out loudly at what she saw, she ran out.
She couldn't believe what she saw in there.
Ruthless kissing Athena.
Her mate kissed someone who is not her. Ruthless had looked surprised when he heard her gasped.
He betrayed her love.
Not seeing where she was running too, by now her eyes were teary, she ran into Blue who caught her by her waist.
Seeing her tears Blue couldn't help but ask.
"What is wrong with my sunshine?" He asked, drawing her closer to his body and Vala allowed it.
