Chapter 66
The Beginning (Part 10)
The Thief (Part C):
"Vala?" Daniel said, tasting the name in his mouth. He likes the sound of it. "The name suits you."
"Thanks, but you haven't answered my question, who is the person you want me to steal from?"
"What part of the wolf kingdom are you living?"
"Is that the answer to my question?"
"Walk with me Vala," Daniel said and turned to leave. The guards moved out of the way for him and the beautiful girl. "Filled two more sack with coins." He ordered.
Going to a quiet place, still outside in the palace compound.
"There is a chain my brother uses to carry around with him always, I want you to steal that chain and bring it to me."
"Is that all?" She paused in her movement prompting Daniel to halt and tilted her head, facing him as he looked down at her. Their height difference was glaring.
"Yes,"
"Then what part of the palace is he staying?" she asked not liking the intense stare Daniel was giving her.
"He is not living in the palace right now, but I can get him to live in the palace for a while."
"If that be the case then I shall be coming every night to check on him."
"That won't be necessary Vala, you will be staying here with me and when he comes the plan kicks off."
"What? I can't stay here, what about my mother and siblings, the money I am stealing is for them and for the villagers."
"You just tell me the name of your family and your village and I will see to it that they are being taken care of." Daniel told her.
"I can't do it, I can't stay a day without seeing my family."
"Don't forget you are a thief and even if you escape again, we have seen your face and I am going to search for you all through the wolf kingdom, mark my words."
"It's too late to flee even if I want to, fine I accept your condition but you must keep to your own end of the bargain."
"Of course I will,"
"Good, I will go and I will return tomorrow morning."
"Are you playing on my intelligence?"
"You've seen my face already, so why will I play with a Nilela? I will return tomorrow,"
Closing the distance between them, invading her personal space, leaning his head so that they are on the same level with her, "Are you sure you will keep to your promise."
"First thing first, don't come closer to me like this again and secondly, I don't go back on my words except you do go back on yours." Vala told him and moved ten feet away from him.
"I also keep to my words."
"See you tomorrow," Vala turned to go but Daniel's voice stopped her.
"And one more thing Vala before you go, you will always cover your face from tomorrow once you get here except when you are with me and you must, and I repeat, must not stare at him or look into his eyes, and through his voice you can get to know who you are stealing the chain from."
"Okay," with that being said she left his presence and went back to meet the guards who were holding three bags of sacks filled with coins.
"Thanks," she collected the sack from them and tore a part of her clothes which she used in tying the three sacks together to enable her to carry it at the same time.
She left the Palace.
Daniel stood where he was, watching her. Once she has taken the chain and given it to him, he will imprison her in his palace and make sure no one sets their eyes on her.
Then he remembered he didn't even ask her if she was married or not. If she is not married it's a bonus for him but if she is married, then he will have to kill him.

The next morning, Vala kept to her words and returned. She had lied and told her mother and siblings that she had gotten to work as a maid in the palace of the Nilela.
"You mean the great Nilela kingdom?" her mother had asked her in bewilderment that night. Her village was a very small village that was often forgotten by the rest of the village which was closer to the Werewolf Palace.
Daniel smiled when he saw her approaching figure. All through the night he hadn't slept at all, when it was morning, he had hurriedly taken his bath, changed his clothes and was waiting for Vala in the palace compound.
"I thought you wouldn't come," Daniel said, still smiling, "Anyway, I am glad you kept to your words, so there was a question I didn't ask you yesterday."
"What question?"
"Have you seen your mate, yet?"
"No, I haven't. Any problem with that?" Vala asked with raised eyebrows.
"Not really," Daniel said and cleared his throat, a female servant came out to meet them. "Take her to my room, dress her up and make sure her face stays covered, that's where she will be staying."
"We didn't agree on that mister."
"You will be here as my mate so yes, you will be sleeping in my room...." Daniel was interrupted when he heard the flapping of wings above him. "Hurry inside and don't look at him, he is here."
But it was too late....
Vala and Nilela eyes met…
