Love Injection

“Um ... we just noticed the way you ate the salad, which was so funny,” Theophile replied.

“Really? You’re not trying to read my mind, are you?” asked Lavelle, interrogating the two vampires.

“Hm ... next time try to sing another song, I’m tired of hearing such a silly song, sweetie,” Theophile replied, then immediately sat to Lavelle’s left, glancing at a small Johnny who was probing his shoulders a little, pretending not to know anything.

“After all, what are you busy trying to read my mind for,” Lavelle bemoaned before poking such an abundant grated cheese into her mouth.

Theophile let out a deep sigh. “It’s our nature as vampires, and we can’t hide that we can also feel the emotions of some humans near us.”

Lavelle was astonished. “If it’s the nature of a vampire, why doesn’t Mark seem to be—”

“I told you before, miss,” cut Johnny, who felt so resentful at hearing Lavelle’s absurd question that it would further creep where.

“What did you say to me?” Lavelle asked Johnny again with an eyebrow raised.

“I’ve said before that we’ve been given a potion by Doctor Charlotte so we can blend in easily in the human world. That’s what suppresses our special senses as vampires,” Johnny explained, “And the one who hasn’t received the potion is Theophile.”

“So, after you drink the potion, you will easily blend in? Disguised? And fooling humans?” Lavelle repeated.

“I’ll tell Doctor Charlotte if I need the special potion in the near future,” Theophile said, distracting Lavelle.

“You do have to do as you promised me, Theo. You will take me home, period,” said Lavelle.

Theophile glanced at Lavelle then cracked a meaningful smile. “I understand, sweetheart. Calm down, enjoy your meal until it’s finished.”

“I really didn’t expect that you would choose a human with blood that smells good and yet, so talkative,” Johnny smirked.

Theophile grinned thinly. “That’s what you expect from a girl who’s been through a lot of trauma, John. In fact, she just felt the best environment for her.”

“Well, about that. How? Has this trauma healed?” asked Johnny, turning his gaze from the large window beside the three of them to Lavelle.

Lavelle was silent, not understanding what reason to answer that question.

“What do you think?” asked Theophile for the umpteenth time.

“Well, I can guess it clearly. Then how do you want to go home?” asked Johnny with a question mark in his eyes.

Theophile glanced at Lavelle because he also didn’t understand if the man he had beaten a while ago hadn’t been seriously injured and had instead been relaxing in his house while enslaving them for the umpteenth time.

“Earlier, Daniela said that yesterday Liza told her that Martian was in the ICU, and I didn’t care about that,” Lavelle replied.

“Why can he be admitted to the ICU?” asked Theophile, pretending ignorance.

“Umh… I don’t know, and I can only think that he is in the dumbest state of gambling, losing, and being chased by debt. He is indeed the most disgusting human,” Lavelle replied in a tone that was very displeased.

Johnny nodded in understanding. “Gambling is indeed an unprofitable activity. Does he often do it?”

“Don’t ask me that because, of course, you can guess from the way I cursed him,” Lavelle said later.

“Okay, so ... for the next few days, he’s in the ICU, and this allows us to visit there,” Theophile said thoughtfully.

“Sure, just take her home,” Johnny said later.

“Yes, I will,” Theophile replied then.

Johnny shook his head a little, not expecting that the man named Martian had inflicted such a deep wound on Lavelle’s life as a daughter. He took a cup of tea, inhaled the aroma slowly, then took a sip.

“You have siblings?” then Johnny asked.

“Yes, why?” Lavelle furrowed her brows, feeling a little uncomfortable because she seemed to be being interrogated by the giant vampire Johnny.

“Is she a girl too?” asked Johnny.

“Yeah, and why are you questioning me like a lousy police officer asking the family background of a defendant, huh?” Lavelle grumbled a little.

Johnny just sighed. “Trauma, such a bad mood swing, hypersensitive … what a painful condition to experience. I just can’t help but wonder how a daddy who has two great daughters as you treat you so unfairly. This world has gone mad.”

A few seconds later, one of the handsome vampires that Lavelle had never even met came there. He smiled a very soft smile when his gaze met Lavelle’s.

“Dude, Doctor Charlotte is here.”

“Is that true?” asked Theophile a little reassuringly.

“I told him to wait in front of your room because I didn’t know you were relaxing here,” said the vampire.

“Let me help you walk because it looks painful.” Theophile ignored the vampire’s word because he was busy helping Lavelle get up from the sofa.

“Don’t you intend to introduce yourself to your future sister-in-law?” Johnny asked a little, teasing the two love-intoxicated lovebirds.

“Ah yes ... it seems I have never met this precious girl, introduce my name is Yonathan. You can call me Nathan or Yonathan.”

“I’ve injected the extra cabbage, Young Master. I hope Mrs. Blanc gets well soon,” said the old doctor as he packed his medical equipment into a leather bag.

Theophile glanced at Lavelle, who winced in pain as the injection marks still left a numb feeling on the surface of her reddened skin. Theophile sighed slowly, then chuckled.

“You told me that you didn’t have a phobia of syringes.”

“I do not phobia the syringe. However, it is so painful. Precisely what kind of liquid did you inject into my body,” Lavelle complained, frowning.

“It’s just cabbage juice that can relieve sprains. I used to use cabbage and mint juice for sprains, but I think you’d better just use the liquid,” Theophile said later.

“Yeah, but it’s a little sore,” Lavelle confirmed.

“Relax, Mrs. Blanc. I’m sure the swollen wound you have will heal soon because I also added a few other potions,” said Doctor Charlotte, who understood how worried Lavelle was about the potion she had just injected into her body.

Meanwhile, Theophile just chuckled, then he pulled something out of his cotton trouser pocket, an old-fashioned children’s game that looked like it was made of pine wood. Lavelle frowned in surprise as Theophile handed the game to Lavelle.

“What are you doing, huh? Do you expect me to pierce my skin with that arrow?” asked Lavelle, raising one eyebrow.

“Just play with that arrow, and soon you will forget the many pains you went through. I’ll put up the target board,” Theophile said as he put up a round board. He didn’t know where he got it from.

“Are you crazy?” Lavelle asked every now and then to make sure that the handsome vampire’s brain wasn’t completely dead.

“Oh, sweet Lavelle. I’m not crazy. I’m just trying, so you can fill your time with fun things. Then I’ll go out and talk to Doctor Charlotte,” Theophile said later.

“Would you like to speak to me, sir?” asked Doctor Charlotte, feeling called by his Master.

Theophile nodded quickly. “Right, I’d like to speak to you, Doctor Charlotte.”

“About what, Young Master?”

Theophile glanced at Lavelle, who still didn’t understand anything, then he glanced back at Doctor Charlotte, who seemed also confused by Theophile’s strange behavior lately. “Let’s talk in my room, Doctor. Let Lavelle rest first.”

Without waiting long, Theophile stepped out with his hands buried in his trouser pockets. He wasn’t as sure of his recent decisions about socializing with humans as his other siblings. He only hoped to get the best assurance from Doctor Charlotte, as his family doctor, who had long devoted himself to their kingdom.

Theophile entered his private room, which was behind a secret bookshelf beside his room. A private room that no one knows except him and some of his other siblings, as well as some of his confidants. Theophile entered the room, taking a few steps, a little worried about something.

“Young master, why do you seem to be hiding something? Do you want to talk about something so secretive?” asked Doctor Charlotte then.

“Umh… do you think I should socialize with the humans out there, Doctor?” asked Theophile then. “Please have a seat, Doc. This conversation will be a little longer.”

“Very well, Young Master. For myself, if you want to go socialize among the other humans in the city, it is your choice as King, you have pretty clear reasons too if you’re going to socialize with them,” replied Doctor Charlotte.

“But, Doc. Do I have to follow a ritual that my brother used to use too?” asked Theophile.

“Depends, Young Master. If you can control your own emotions when dealing with humans, you can ignore the ritual, while if you can’t control your own emotions, you had better commit to the ritual,” explained Doctor Charlotte.

“So this is a must, isn’t it?” Theophile directed a glance that was quite questionable for the Doctor, who was already serving as a special doctor for the royal family.

“By the way, Young Master, What made you want to mingle with humans?” asked Doctor Charlotte curiously.

“I… just wanted to take Lavelle home to see her mommy,” Theophile mumbled later.

“Then you must indeed perform a similar ritual, Young Master.” Doctor Charlotte gave advice.

“Okay, when can you do it, Doc?” asked Theophile then.

“It all depends on your decision, Young Master. If you want to carry out the ritual immediately, I can prepare all the ingredients,” replied Doctor Charlotte, looking down.

“Prepare it immediately because I want to use the potion as soon as possible,” Theophile said later.
