The Purple Clans

The clock shows eight o’clock in the morning local time, Lavelle wakes up without seeing anyone by her side. Even a cup of coffee that looks cold already on the nightstand along with a slice of sandwich. Complemented with fresh tomato sauce with a sprinkling of celery leaves.

Lavelle got up with a little tiptoe and loosened the muscle joints that felt stiff from sleeping so soundly even like a sleeping baby.

She could hear a commotion far from her room, and it was likely on the golf course fifteen yards from her room. With slow steps, she went to a large window and opened the window blinds. Looked straight at some of Theophile’s brothers who were playing golf and joking but she didn’t see the presence of Theophile.

Where has he gone so early? Is he still busy continuing yesterday’s meeting? But how could he possibly feel comfortable discussing one meeting subject over and over again? Shouldn’t vampires also feel tired and bored? A knock made her slightly shuffled and surprised, Jessica didn’t knock on the door because she didn’t know that Lavelle had woken up a few minutes ago.

“Sorry Your Majesty, I didn’t mean to be presumptuous. I am merely following orders from Your Highness Theophile to prepare your needs and clean Your Majesty’s room.” Jessica lowered her head slightly feeling guilty for being presumptuous.

“Never mind, I understand that you didn’t know that I was awake earlier. It’s all right, Oh yeah! Where’s Theophile?”

“He is somewhere with Mr Tristan, Your Majesty.”

Lavelle knitted her brows together as if she sensed that there was a slight oddity in Jessica’s answer. “Where he go? Did him meet Vanyacia?”

“Sorry, Your Majesty. However, Big Master Theophile didn’t tell me in detail where he was going today,” Jessica muttered.

“Um… I see. Then I’ll clean my body first and will Mark or Shotaro be home?”

“Mr Mark happens to be at home, madam. Master Shotaro is out hunting with the others.”

After that Lavelle went into a luxurious bathroom which had been provided with a bathtub filled with warm water with extracts of French rose, relaxing Lavender and Mint essences, meanwhile on the edge of the sink were lit several aromatherapy candles with the scent of sandalwood.

She sighed a little then went to examine herself in front of the luxurious bathroom mirror, saw the lines of fatigue on her face, she saw her lips were slightly chapped because she had a fever yesterday, her eye bags looked a little black like panda eyes. A moment later, her right hand reached out to turn the faucet, watching the water from inside the faucet flow freely and disappear into the sink.

Today Lavelle was feeling so bored, and wanted to pamper herself a little to just walk around the park or the city. However, she who was very blind with the map should have asked Theophile for help to go around the place she wanted. Very slowly she took water and then washed her sad face, feeling a little refreshed even though she was shaking a little because the water felt so cold that it seemed to pierce her bones.

“You’re so weak, you idiot. But, now you should feel stronger because they are waiting for you!”

Lavelle closed her eyes for a moment, then took off all her clothes before plunging into the bathtub.

Mark handed her a roll of watermelon-scented cotton candy that he had just bought from a street vendor selling around the playground. Lavelle looked a little happy even her face lit up from seeing the many delicious food vendors in the playground—in a city called the city of love.

“Would you like to try some crafel? Look at it being steamed and pinched like a wafer after it’s crushed and stuffed into that slightly crunchy looking batter,” Mark pointed to a middle eastern snack stand.

“Maybe it’s a new innovation.”

“I thought so too, it looks like food from the future. Do you want to try? And by the way use your crown properly or it will fall and break.” Mark slightly adjusted the position of Lavelle’s crown which was slightly tilted.

Lavelle was a little annoyed because she felt uncomfortable with the crown, which made the strangers in the playground look at Lavelle with a look that is difficult to define even as if Lavelle should not be touched by their hands.

“Why do I have to wear a crown like this? The weather is so hot here and this crown is making my hair hot.”

“Oh, come on. You are the soulmate of Theophile Blanc. Leader of Neo Greenpeace.”

“Is it really necessary?”

“Of course, this is an identity. You can even happily order them all to do what you want.” Mark laughed then went back to eating his slightly melted cotton candy.

Lavelle shrugged her shoulders then pointed to a large ringworm on the north side of the playground, signaling that Mark would take her on the ride. And as a good friend, Mark nodded in agreement to Lavelle’s request that time then walking hand in hand they walked to the ticket counter.

However, the unexpected incident was truly a shock. A thick fog made the people in the playground shriek in the heat, after a while lightning was seen booming one after another, clarifying the question marks between Mark and Lavelle.

“What is going on?” Lavelle asked Mark.

Mark grabbed Lavelle’s hand and led her to go through the passage that was not contaminated with the thick smoke. Without saying a word Mark asked Lavelle to run a little faster because something bad might happen to the city after yesterday’s terrorist conference was broadcast.

From the front a man with a burly body confronted the two of them along with several monstrous creatures that were large and almost similar to bats. The young vampire Mark couldn’t stand still without revealing his true identity, after pushing Lavelle back, slowly his long nails formed, his fangs and eye color changed instantly.

Lavelle was stunned and confused as if looking for the right answer where she was now, after so long she had met Mark, this was the first time she saw drastic changes in her close friend’s body. She wanted to scream in fear in the pursuit of these strange and furry creatures, she stumbled because she tripped over an iron fence that had been left behind by the owner of the stand in the hallway.

Mark snarled as the creature swiftly smacked him backwards, sending him tumbling a bit though in the end he tried to get up and tear the creature’s body apart. It was staggered by a fairly heavy fist for a few minutes before he unleashed his telekinesis and moved everything around him to attack the creatures.

Fighting for several minutes and being outnumbered overwhelms Mark and is eventually repulsed with a large stick and driven by sharp spikes.

“Mark!”

“Run! Run first! Just ignore me, save yourself!” shouted Mark with a little groan in pain because it turned out to be a silver nail.

“But—”

“Run! Don’t let them catch you!” cut off Mark.

Lavelle was still stunned, unsure of what to do. She is a girl who masters the martial arts of taekwondo but, will the creature retreat if it is fought using taekwondo moves? Lavelle glared as one by one the creatures approached and in the end she left Mark.

Running hastily, ignoring the thousands of thorny weeds blocking her, she entered a forest next to the playground. The clothes she was wearing were tattered and even out of shape but she had to keep running no matter how much pain she felt all over her body.

Bug!

She fell down when she felt a hand with sharp nails tugging at her leg without feeling, her leg was twisting slightly faster causing a terrible creaking sound. The creature smirked, satisfied after hurting her. His red eyes were getting rounder as if he wanted to swallow Lavelle alive.

“Argh! Let me go!”

Instead of releasing Lavelle’s sprained leg, the creature lifted Lavelle’s body as high as possible and then slammed her body into a large banyan tree trunk. Lavelle fell down quite weakly and was bleeding profusely from her mouth, she couldn’t breathe at that time.
