Eternal Rose
Lavelle blinked her eyes several times as she stared at the rose in Theophile’s room, a rose that shone brightly even though it was illuminated only in a small sleeping light in the corner of the room. While Theophile was busy cleaning herself in the luxurious bathroom, Lavelle slightly wondered what roses Theophile kept that way.
Lavelle grumbled when she heard Theophile brushing his teeth without turning the faucet, then she went to lay her body on Theophile’s bed while holding her own stomach. Her eyes closed as she imagined some of the events that might happen later after she married Theophile and her mother knew that Theophile and his brothers were not human.
This was really a big deal, because her mother was a taboo on such nonsense and she was getting dizzy when she thought about what happened to her stomach after making love to Theophile the other day.
CLEK!
The bathroom door opened, Theophile came out with a towel wrapped around his slender waist—showing his stomach muscles which grew even more dazzling in the dim light from the night lamp in the corner. The scent of Sandalwood oil mixed with Damascus rose extract permeated the room as Theophile turned on the air purifier above the antique cupboard, then he turned to glance at Lavelle who was lying languidly on his bed.
“What happened to you, honey? Would you like to take one more bath?” asked Theophile as she started walking to a mirror with a bottle of liquid that didn’t know what it was.
“I don’t know, maybe I just need time to think for a moment,” Lavelle replied.
“Take a dip, listening to the beautiful rhythm of the tap water,” muttered Theophile.
“Can it have a good effect? I thought it was just a trick,” Lavelle grumbled in disbelief.
“Why do you say like that? Should you believe that sounds of nature like that can be a natural relaxation for people who are having a lot of thoughts like that, or do you want me to ask Jessica to mix cocoa extract in your warm bath water?” Theophile raised one of her eyebrows in a big question mark.
“I don’t think you need to do that, it’s too late for a bath after all. By the way, what rose did you plant in that glass, Theo?”
“Um....” Theophile glanced at Lavelle’s index finger without turning his head, then replied, “That was the eternal rose given by my late mother, do you know? At first the petals of the rose had fallen out and only the buds were left but, look now the petals of the rose are like growing back and the petals that fell out have dried by themselves.”
“Um... I don’t understand what it means but the rose is so beautiful and surrounded by beautiful flickers.” Lavelle sighed, then glanced back at Theophile who was wearing a liquid. “What are you wearing?”
“French rose essence extract and green tea leaf essence, this is good for the skin. Do you want to try? But, you can’t do it, baby. You are a human being and this is a special liquid for vampire skin that does not want to be burned by the light of the sun,” Theophile muttered.
“It’s the same with skin care. Theo... I want to ask you,” muttered Lavelle with a slight sigh.
“Asking about what?” asked Theophile then after placing the bottle on top of an antique cupboard then walked up to Lavelle and laid his body on the wide bed.
“Do you think... my mother will accept our relationship later?” asked Lavelle in a cautious tone.
Theophiles let out a deep sigh trying to alleviate Lavelle’s huge worry about their relationship, as it was true that bad odds would occur when Christelle found out clearly that Theophile was not a pure human being.
But shouldn’t two people love each other with a difference? The world is cruel, but shouldn’t it? Theophile always promised himself to always keep Lavelle like a diamond.
“Theo… please reassure me…” Lavelle whispered.
“How can I answer you if you don’t truly love me yourself?” asked Theophile again.
“Theo... I’m serious.”
“I’m serious too, even more serious than you, my dear Lavelle. Come on, don’t think about this all the time, you’d better think of a way to recover from the trauma you’ve been through,” Theophile said later.
Lavelle took Theophile’s hand, gripping it tightly without saying a word. Her gaze conveyed a feeling that was indescribable in words, perhaps even very difficult to understand but, Theophile always tried to understand it immediately.
“If you’re tired, get some rest,” Theophile muttered.

The sparrows flew swiftly towards a place, while the drizzle covered the whole area of the kingdom. Lavelle choked when she felt a small bite on her hand and hurriedly got up and realized that on the big bed there was a white rabbit biting her hand.
She was surprised but didn’t want to scream because it made her look like an idiot who had just returned from a mental hospital, and by the way why had a bunny come into Theophile’s room? Has this rabbit gone mad and entered a vampire leader’s room?
“Good morning, dear. Did you like the surprise?” a voice came as the wide door opened and Theophile came in with a tray of special breakfasts.
“What do you mean? Is this rabbit...?”
“I put it down on purpose but, maybe he was too smart and got on the bed,” groaned Theophile, then quickly pulled the white rabbit’s stocky body and immediately put it back in the hygienic cage under its feet. “Do you know? Dyovacko was too enthusiastic about our wedding and he flew to France last night.”
“Huh? Flying to France? Did it really happen? But why is he so fast?” asked Lavelle, “Don’t you guys need a plane?”
Theophile sighed then walked to the window and opened the curtains. “Eat your breakfast, it’s already noon for breakfast.”
“I’m serious, Theo. I’m curious about that,” Lavelle grumbled.
“We’re vampires, honey. We don’t really need planes when they’re not needed,” Theophile later replied.
“Gosh, you guys are really great!” cried Lavelle with an extremely amazed face.
Meanwhile, Theophile just chuckled and returned to Lavelle who was also not ready to eat the breakfast he had specially prepared for Lavelle. Actually he didn’t have much time to be in the kitchen but, anything for Lavelle he would do it. Theophile loved it when Lavelle ate her food so voraciously that her cheeks were full of food.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something strange on my face?” asked Lavelle irritably.
Theophile laughed and then pinched Lavelle's cheeks which suddenly blushed. “You’re so cute with disheveled hair like that, really funny. I’ve ordered some supplies for our wedding as well as some of the health workers who work with Doctor Charlotte.”
“Does it have to be in such a rush? After all, these past few days I feel like nothing has changed in my life,” Lavelle mumbled.
“What do you want to feel about a change?” Theophile replied with a questioning look.
“Didn’t you say that I was pregnant? However, I don’t feel my stomach getting bigger nor do I feel a movement in my stomach,” Lavelle muttered very innocently.
