Game On PT.2
"I-I haven't been in the right state of mind, lately...." She began and I stared at her, blankly. As soon as she parted her lips again, my phone rang. Narrowing my eyes, I picked up my phone and left the sitting room.
"Jaden. I have no idea what Zaden is planning. But, for the past few days, my epsilons has noticed strange movements of unfamiliar werewolves. I think he's preparing something different this time. I don't know what it is. But, it can't be good," Darryl said and I clenched my fists.
"Alert the elite wolves. Keep your ears and eyes alert," I said.
"Yes, Alpha."
"Is there anything else?" I asked when I noticed the hesitation in his voice.
"Last night, while I joined the patrol wolves to keep watch, I perceived the stench of a vampire."
"What?" I said through gritted teeth.
A vampire?
Would Zaden go that far?
"That's not all. Hera said she could feel a strange magic in the air. She confirmed that it wasn't the magic of a witch."
I stiffened. Something fishy was definitely going on.
"Did she figure out what it was?" I asked and he exhaled slowly.
"She thinks it's the magic of dragons. Shape shifting dragons."
I didn't expect that. Infact I was struggling to wrap my head around the reason why dragon shape shifters would come anywhere close to my pack.
"We will figure out what's going on. We're working on it, Alpha" Darryl said.
"Alright, do what you can," I said and the line went dead.
...
RHEA
Humming under my breath, I made my way out of my room and went to the sitting room. There was no one there. I wondered if Jaden had gone to the pack house or if he'd gone to attend to another important business. I entered the kitchen and opened the fridge. My fingers itched to steal something. But, I decided to just pour myself a glass of orange juice.
The door to the kitchen jerked open and Trisha walked in, carrying a couple of bags of groceries. I watched her as she arranged the items one after the other. The tension between us was massive. She wouldn't meet my gaze and I wouldn't take my eyes off her. When she slammed the fridge shut, she turned to look at me, her eyes holding nothing but cold malice towards me. Her lips were set in a grim line and her fists were clenched.
"What is your problem?" She
demanded, eyes flashing with rage. I let out a sarcastic laughter.
"Who are you to ask me that?" I retorted.
"Have you no self respect? What are you still doing in Jaden's house? Shouldn't you run away like you always do? Why did you have to come back?!" She hissed.
"What's it to you anyway? This is not your house. Besides, Jaden forced me to come back with him" I said.
"He doesn't want you. You are pathetic. He deserves better. You can't be his mate" she spat.
It was then I understood why she was so frustrated. I realized why she desperately wanted me to leave.
"Wow, I am shocked. You are Jaden's Delta, you know that, right? You can't have him" I pointed out.
She growled and I folded my arms, not feeling the slightest intimidation. We were both tall. Infact, we were the same height. I was curvier than her and of course, more beautiful too. She had a warrior- like structure which meant, she was more muscular.
Nevertheless, none of this fazed me. Anyone who saw me would immediately underestimate me. No one would think that I had a black belt in martial arts. I was also quite skilled in the witchy area. The only thing I was lacking was a wolf.
'I'm still here, dumbass. I just haven't manifested yet' Crystal said in my head and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
"I'm closer to Jaden than you will ever be. It means I have a higher chance of becoming a Luna. But, you? You're just a pathetic thief who Jaden sees as nothing but a waste of space"
I didn't want to argue with her because she was right in a way. I wouldn't tell her that because I had other plans in my mind. Since she wanted Jaden so badly, I was prepared to do anything and everything to prevent that.
Jaden was my mate whether he liked it or not. I was going to make sure I claimed him. I was sick and tired of being in the backseat of my life. This time, I was going to take matters into my own hands. It was game on.
Trisha stormed out of the kitchen and I rolled my eyes.
"Bitch, I'm also very crazy. Trust me, you don't want to mess with a crazy woman," I thought aloud.
'Atta girl. Now, can we go and get our man?' Crystal said and a devious smile curved my lips.
I made my way out of the kitchen and sauntered towards Jaden's study. He was all alone in his study, working on something on his laptop. I knocked on the door and without waiting for his response, I opened the door and walked in.
"What are you doing here?" He asked without raising his head to look at me.
"I'm just really bored. I find your company rather entertaining," I told him. He slowly looked up and met my gaze. His eyes darkened and he leaned back on his chair. "What are you up to now?" He said and I grinned.
"What do you mean? I didn't do anything."
He raised a dark brow.
"Not long ago, you asked me to leave your room. Now, you walk into my room with such a mischievous glint in your eyes. Something is definitely going on," he said and I shrugged.
"I know you don't want me, but we can still be friends? Nothing bad about that. However, I'm here to ask you to have dinner with me. I'll be cooking. Meet me at the dining room by 6:30pm. Don't be late," I said and sashayed out of his study, the smirk on my face, growing.
