“How are we going to get her heat? “ James asked he knows very well how heat is a killer for them, especially Tyler, he cannot be in the heat without resistance stone even for a minute.
“Fire, we need to light the fire,” Tyler said as he jumped out of the window in the next second to get some twigs from the jungle down the castle he was back in seconds, thanks to his vampire speed.
“Tyler what are you doing?” James asked; he was practically throwing off the lives of his people for the sake of his beloved.
“Tyler, if a fire broke out none of the vampire population could be saved,” James reminded him as Tyler looked at him.
“I know very well what can happen if this goes wrong James and for that reason I want you to take everyone out of the castle and go back to Alaska’s castle,” He said as he started keeping the twigs at the fireplace.
“But—“Tyler cut him off in the middle.
“It is an order, James Mathew, an order of your king, and you, are bound to follow it,” For the first time Tyler was using his king’s voice on James.
James on the other hand now could not go against orders of Tyler, he sat on one knee before he nodded his head and started taking steps to walk out of the room.
“Don’t die, Tyler, I am saying this as your friend, not a Vampire,” James said as Tyler nodded.
He knew in the next 4 minutes, the castle will be empty.
Tyler sat beside Zia and looked at her pale face; “I know you are still here, Fight for me, fight for us, Please, don’t leave me, please Zia,” He said to her sleeping self as he held her hand and placed a kiss on her knuckles.
The last footstep was out of the castle, Tyler was sure his people were safe now; he picked the lighter from one of the cabinets near the fireplace and set the twigs on fire.
The heat started to fill his body; he took a deep breath as he put more twigs in the fire; soon it was growing; He went to the jungle once again only to come back with a lot of firewood, he put them in the fireplace accordingly; his body was burning every time he went near the heat but he was doing all of this for Zia; his Zia, his beloved.
When the fire was set and the entire room was warm; he picked a few extra blankets and laid them on the floor near the fireplace, he went near Zia and picked her up; he placed her on the blankets before covering her with another one; keeping her head on his lap.
He warmed his hands in the fire even though it burned him, he kept his warm hands on her face to give her all the heat and warmth he can.
He did not hug her because his body was already cold; he will just increase the problems for her. He threw more wood into the fire as it started to be dull; her body was turning back to normal but Tyler was facing the burn even more.
After what felt like forever; Tyler felt a movement of her hand; he glanced at her face as she fluttered her eyes open; “Tyler…” She whispered his name as he finally smiled.
“Hey,” Her voice was cracking. He checked her wounds under the blanket and saw that they were healed.
“Hi,” He whispered back as he placed a kiss on her forehead. She tried to sit but Tyler stopped her; “Don’t, you are still weak,” He moved a little away from the fire as she got closer to it.
“The heat feels nice,” Zia said without looking at him; her eyes were closed; Tyler was trying to deal with the burning in his hands and his body.
At that moment; he realized how different they were from each other; he desired coldness, and she desired warmth.
He was lifeless without her and she was the breath of fresh air; they were opposites, exact opposites but still, they fitted together so well.
He knew he could not let her go, she was his for this lifetime.
“Tyler…” he was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard her calling his name. He looked at her in panic.
“What happened? Are you okay? Are you feeling any pain?” he continued to check for her wounds but there were none, on the other hand, her eyes did not leave his hands, and his neck that was getting redder every second.
“What?” he asked her as he ignored the burn in his body.
“Your arms,” she whispered as she lifted his shirt a little only to gasp, his skin was red as if it was burned badly.
“What is happening to you? Why do these look like burn marks?” She asked as she looked at him concerned.
“I need to get away from the fire, it is burning me,” He said as he moved a little away from the fire. Zia too got up and held his hand.
“Are you okay?” she asked once she settled him on the bed.
“No,” He breathed.
“You are not able to bear the heat, you coldness,” She said as he looked at her.
“I will be fine,” he said assuring her when he did not know if he will even make it out alive or not; he was in pain now.
“No, like this, you won’t be,” She shook her head as she held his Hand. She still had the blanket wrapped around her body.
“Get up please, I know what to do but I need you to cooperate,” She said as she quickly took him to the cold storage.
“Why did you bring me here?” He asked.
Zia opened the door of the cold storage and looked at him; “We need to go in,” She said before she pulled him in.
“What are you doing?” He asked her as he felt the burning subside because of the coldness around there.
She unbuttoned his shirt and looked at him, “Take off all your clothes,” She said to him.
“Zia, this is not the time to make love,” He smirked at her but she glared at him, “I am trying to help you out, horny man,”
“Okay, Okay,” He said as he took off his clothes along with his boxers.
Zia picked all the cold blood packets; she was shivering but she was fine; she needed to save him too, “It is going to hurt,” she whispered as she looked at him.
“Do it,” He said as he closed his eyes.
She nodded and kept one of the frozen packets of blood on his arm; he bite his lip to stop the scream; he jerked when the other one was placed on his arm.
“I am sorry, I am so sorry,” She said as he looked at her.
He forwarded his hand to her as she held it; “Save me and save yourself, I want to live with you,” He said as she nodded and kept every blood packet on his skin.
The burns were getting better but it was painful; the ice in the packets was melting because of the heat from his burns but he bore it.
After what felt like an hour; he opened his eyes.
“It’s gone, the burns are gone,” She smiled as he stood up.
“We need to be out of here,” She said shivering.
“Of course,” He nodded before he opened the door of the cold storage. She was fast to walk out. She turned around but she did not find him following her; he was still standing naked at the door of the cold storage.
She looked at him with a questioning gaze.
“You need warmth, I need this coldness, Go back to the fireplace, I’ll be back,” He said to her as she bite her lip. She was not sure.
“Dinner talk tonight?” She asked him forcing a smile on her face.
“Dinner talk tonight,” his tone was affirmative
She walked back to the fire and he walked back into the coldness.
