*No, this can't happen, she... She can't know*

That is what Zia thought as she looked at her grandmother, her eyes were the size of a soccer ball.
She has as shocked well shocked would be an understatement.

In all these years she used to think she managed to hide her identity. the world from her grandmother but hell she was wrong.

"G-grandma..." Her first instinct was to lie as she tried to speak but it felt like she was under microscopic eyes as soon as her grandma opened her eyes and looked at her

Ellie's eyes were filled with tiredness, she smiled at Zia as she looked at her.

Ellie looked over at rose who was sleeping peacefully as she started to get up.

Zia held her hand and helped her to sit up straight, her old body sank into the mattress as she held the bedpost and stood up.

"Come, Zia," she said as Zia followed her outside.

Zia closed the door of the room, Ellie sat in the hall as Zia took the seat in front of her.

"Now tell me what is wrong with you and Tyler," Ellie asked as Zia gulped.

"I need to know something first," Zia said as she licked her lips, she was trying to find the right words.

She was her grandma after all she can't be disrespectful towards the person who took care of her all these years.

"Yes ask," Ellie looked like this was not something she was not supposed to know.

"Grandma, you... You knew ?" Zia asked.

"About what? Are you being a vampire? In the first year of your relationship with Tyler, I knew," Ellie said as Zia looked at her shocked.

She had assumed that Ellie had gotten an idea about her being a vampire after years but as Ellie said, it was a blow to Zia's secret.

"How?" She asked as she looked a little scared.

It was an unsaid rule of the vampires to not let humans know about their existence, it was in the case if it was not necessary or if they were not to make the other person a vampire too.

And those who knew or heard the truth about the vampire had to be killed.

Zia did not want to do that to her grandma, never in a million years she wished to kill her grandma.

"I know what is going on in your mind, I will give you each answer but first tell me even after 20 years of being with him, you do not want to marry him, why?" Ellie asked as she pulled the blanket that Zia offered her on her shoulders.

She was feeling cold.

"Grandma, you know I always listened to mom and dad's love story, of course, they were young and stupid but they were together for years before I happened," Zia paused as she looked at her grandmother who was lost in the memories of her lost children and his fiancee.

"They fought with you but then when it was time to be together, fate snatched them from us," Zia said as she wiped a tear that slipped down her cheeks.

"How does that concern your relationship with Tyler," Ellie asked.

Zia chuckled, " that man gave me the source of his powers just to save me, just to see me alive and breathing, I do love him,"

"When I found my beloved, I did not want to live with the ideas of the human world anymore," Ellie wanted her to explain her point so that is what Zia did.

"Saying I do and stay together, and many other things according to different religions in the world but even after taking all these promises in front of God, do we fulfill them?" Zia asked as Ellie tried to understand what she wanted to say.

"I love that man to the heights, he is the king of all realms but here is something, something missing," Zia said as she closed her eyes for a second.

In all these years, she wished to be back to her human self and live the normal life she thought she will live from her childhood but at a certain age, everything for her changed.

Now, anything does not hold the same meaning as before, knowing that everything is mortal and you are not, that shit either gets to your brain or your ego.

Both are equally dangerous.

"So you fell out of love?" Ellie wanted to make sure what was in Zia's mind.

"What no?" Zia said as she shook her head.

" Nope, absolutely no, grandma, life without Tyler, I can't imagine that," Zia said as she tried to calm her ragging heartbeat.

The very thought of Tyler not being in her life is scary as fuck.

She can't imagine being the truth of her life.

"Then why does the ' what no' from you sound more like a question?" Ellie asked as Zia stopped.

"It was a diction mistake," Zia looked away from her grandma as she lied. She knows she does not make diction mistake but that was the only thing she came up with.

"For the woman who changed your diapers, you need to upgrade your lying skills, Zia," Ellie said as Zia nodded

" There's just ... Just something missing, something I can't pinpoint," she said as Ellie nodded.

"You know if you had shared it all with me, I would have given you the answers quickly then you would not have asked the moon for the answers you need," Zia smiled, it was one of her habits to say every question to the moon.

"What do I need to do grandma?" She asked.

Finally talking to someone was better and a much-needed change, "go out and date a few guys," Zia was shocked.

"Nope, you know I am not the one to cheat," Zia said as Ellie held her hand in her old one.

"Sometimes to not cheat and leave, you gotta put yourself out there and see what your person has which others don't," Zia stilled as she listened to her grandma saying that.
