Zia's P. O. V.
Tyler was supportive but my fears were taking a more prominent place in my heart. What will he say when he gets to know the truth? Hell, what will he think? He may not say it but he'll think, right? Relax Zia, this is not the time to think about your insecurities.
I felt a hand on the top of mine as I jumped in my place, my eyes reached to him as his eyes softened.
"I know you are scared but there is no reason for you to be afraid, nothing can change what we have, "I smiled as I heard him.
I entwined my fingers with him, he was the peace, I craved.
The warmth I needed.
"I need your car," I said as he threw his car keys at me as I caught them in a swift moment.
I took a deep breath as I sat in the driver's seat, "I can drive if you want" He said as I came out of my thoughts.
I faked a smile at him quickly before shaking my head.
"Zia," his voice was dark as I looked at him.
Sensing my confusion he started, "Don't,"
"Huh?"
"Don't fake a smile at me, you do not need to be fake with me at least," He said as I nodded, I was ashamed I was hiding or faking anything with him.
"I am sorry, I would never again," I said as I put the engine to life.
"Where are we going?" Tyler asked me when we were near the border.
"Mexico," I said as I stopped the car to complete the formalities.
I came back to the car as Tyler nodded at me, after 3 hours of driving like a reckless woman, I stopped the car in front of the house I spent my entire human life.
"This is the place," I said as Tyler opened his side of the door.
I stood in front of the house as he came to my side, holding my shoulders as I looked at him.
"The reason I stole the resistance stone is inside," I said as I started walking.
My heels echoed on the tilled floor as I put the house key in the keyhole.
I opened the door with a push as the light from the front door came inside.
Tyler's shadow was right behind mine as I looked at the girl sleeping on the couch. The same girl I told to come here and take care of someone I love while I was on a date with Tyler.
“Tyler,” I said his name as he stood beside me; I held his hand in mine feeling his cold fingers against my warm ones as I walked to the room that had my most precious possession.
“Grandma,” I called as entered the room, Tyler walked close by.
“Hey grandma,” I sat near her but she did not look at me; I held her hand in mine feeling her old fingers; the wrinkled hands that wiped my tears a thousand times are not even lifting today.
It hurts more than anything as I looked at her; her eyes are closed; her body is resting on the bed like every day.
“She is Ellie, my Grandma, “Tyler walked towards me and placed his hand on my shoulder. I leaned onto him as I breathed.
“Let us talk in the other room, I don’t want her to listen to anything,” I said as I walked out of the room.
“Hey,” I said to the girl I rescued that day; the smell of her blood in intruding but I controlled myself. I am not a killer.
“Hi,” She said as she wiped the drool off her chin. She smiled at me.
“I did not get your name that day,” I said; I kept my distance; I do not wish to lose control.
“I am Rose,” She said as she smiled at me.
“Rose, I’ll be in my room, this is my boyfriend Tyler,” I introduced Tyler to her as I started walking to my room.
She nodded at us before Tyler followed me to my room, as soon as I closed the door I felt Tyler’s lips on mine; the kiss was urgent yet had a meaning to it; there was not any lust in it; his hands did not travel to my waist or my boobs.
They rested on my cheeks as he left my lips; “I want to know everything, your every reason, your every tear, your every prayer, everything,” He whispered against my lips as I looked at him.
He made me sit on the couch as he sat beside me; I held his hand as I closed my eyes.
“My parents passed away in an accident, they were teen parents, They had me when they were 16, for the time being, Grandma and Grandpa did not accept them but after I was born, they accepted us, and we all moved in together so that mom and dad could finish their studies and grandma, grandpa could look after me,” I said as he held my hand tighter.
“I was not even a year old when they passed away, Grandpa, and Grandma bought me up, they became my parents when they lost their children,” A tear rolled down my cheek as Tyler wiped it with his thumb.
“Grandpa passed away when I was 15, a heart attack,” I took a deep breath; I was about to tell him the truth.
“A month ago Grandma’s health started going down, I took her to doctors but they could not tell why, on the way back our car stopped in the middle of nowhere, I went outside to look for a mechanic, and when I returned with one, I saw grandma lying on the ground almost in blood,”
“I ran towards her and that was when I noticed teeth marks on her shoulder, I took her to the hospital, some kind of poison was spreading in her body, humans had no record of the kind of poison it was, they went on researching offered me money but I only needed my grandma alive, I tried searching and that was when I came in light to the fact that humans were not alone in the world, where we live there are other beings, supernatural, super powerful and healing too,” I said as I looked at him.
“Guess who it was who bite her?” I said to him.
“A vampire,” The realization dropped on him like a bomb, I could tell.
The shock was evident on his face as he looked at me.
