Cruel Heavens

Kris' P.O.V

Dozens of guards surround the hall in the blink of an eye. Their swords were drawn, eyes wide, and most wore steel armor plates. These were Bahm's soldiers, and I'm sure seeing their commander in his grasp wasn't what they expected to see from receiving Leolo's possible mind link.

"Bahm!

Stop!"

Hunnie shrieks when she witnesses Bahm trying to bite into Leolo's neck.

His top canines were elongated and sharp, as well as his bottom. Leolo, That old man was strong, they both were, but if he was to get underneath Bahm's razor blade fangs, I wasn't sure if he'd recover.

"Commander Leol, what are your orders?"

The blonde-haired Second Commander asked while slowly pulling his sword out of his sheath.

"NOTHING RIGHT NOW!

THE KING'S IN THERE."

He hollered from the ground, struggling to keep Bahm away from him. What's with sinking his fangs into everything? How exactly does this gatekeeper demon work?

Leolo receives a nice slash to the face. Nervousness floods my nose from the others watching the scene and from my body when suddenly Bahm gets the upper hand on Leolo, grabbing him in a headlock and containing him.

Momma Fei could be heard down the hall as Bahm held Leolo hostage with a deadly and sinister look in his eyes. He looked so different, deranged, and dark. I feared something terrible would happen, real fast.

"DON'T TOUCH HIM! LET ME SPEAK TO HIM!"

"No, mother. Something is wrong! You mustn't!"

My heart pounded in my chest once more before I opened my mouth, and I grabbed Hunnie into my chest.

"What do you want?"

Bahm's eyes travel over to me through the crowded area, making the skin on my body crawl.

"That's funny, you ask.

I only wanted his body, but it seems that knowing who his son was, made him vulnerable."

The room goes into an uproar, and momma Fei drops down to her knees at my side while soldiers around her begin hoisting her back up. Why is he talking like that?

"What-What, son?" Hunnie whimpers as she clings to me.

"Bahm honey, please. I get you are enraged, but let's talk."

Momma Fei managed to squeeze through the guards and closer to the middle.

"TALK?"

Suddenly, an aura, and even a facial expression that I recognized as Bahm, replies before he sinks his teeth into Leolo's shoulder. If that's him, why is he doing this?

Everyone gasps, and he throws Leolo into the petrified soldiers, who catch him instantly.

"You've all ruined me--"

-"Bahm?

What's going on?"

I interrupted, knowing he was talking, and his face and shoulders sagged.

Has he gained complete control, or what?

Suddenly, he grabs his head in pain and falls to his knees.

"What's the matter with him, Kris," a cry leaves Hunnie's mouth before Leolo zooms up to us.

"You both need to get out of here.

That isn't Bahm. Stop talking to it."

"NO ONE IS GOING ANYWHERE!" Bahm growls, standing to his feet.

"Everyone in this castle will die!"

"WHY??"

I shouted at the demon, or Bahm, whoever this was. I've already lost him multiple times, and I'm ready to face any kind of him.

To our horror, Bahm begins scratching the skin of his abdomen as it falls disgustingly onto the white marbled floors.

"YOU!" He bellows again.

"You are, unfortunately, The Demon King's spawn, and poor him, he cannot.. handle that!"

Tiny needles prickle along the surface of my face, and I twist my face with confusion. What is he spewing?

"The son, from all those years ago now, NOW, HE IS MATED TO HIS WOMAN!"

Before we could react and process his words, he shifted angrily by pulling the skin off his body bit by bit, his face, stomach, then appeared as that dreadful terror form we all feard to see again.

Especially me.

He was much taller than I remembered, with wet black leathery skin, arms as long as his legs, and hair that fell around the pointed chipped ears he now had.

He began swinging his arms, and we saw heads flying, and the men began roaring.
I felt Leolo pulling Hunnie and me from the middle as we all scurried from the bloodbath.

My feet were running, but not as fast as my mind was.

What Bahm said stung my ears greatly. It burned my eyes and slowed down my breathing. There's no way I am his..son.

There's no way!

"Where are we going?" Hunnie says with panic in her voice.

"Away from here!
We need to subdue The King!"

"Kris, I'm scared. I still don't understand why Bahm is this way!

What did I miss?

Why is he killing his people?

...Kris?"

"Huh?"

Leolo dragged us down the hall and into a staircase when Hunnie asked me many questions. It was hard to focus on right now. Loud bangs and roaring filled the halls behind us as well as shrieks and cries.

It didn't sound too good back there, and Hunnie was barefoot, only wearing her robe, and I feared it'd be a problem if we had to do some serious running. She also hadn't eaten a proper breakfast yet and could barely run. Everything in my power told me not to think about what Bahm said, but I kept failing.

"KRIS!

Come on, why are you slowing down now!" Leolo hisses, snapping me out of my moment.

"Huh?

Why are we going into the dun-?"

-"SHH!"

He hushes me and walks exceptionally close to my ears.

"Because!

I know he will eventually follow you down here, and then, Hunnie can cast that spell she put over Anna's castle!" He grabs Hunnie, lifting her down the last few steps with a smile.

We rushed to the farthest back of the dungeon, passing many empty cages as we walked on the cement path filled with hay until we arrived at an open concrete flooring. This site was vacant, with stone walls and a big red circle against the middle wall. Red scriptures were also written on the flooring, and symbols covered the walls and two doors.

Skipping passed this area, we ran to the door ahead of us, just tucked into a corner, where Leolo instructed us to sit still in the room full of dirt and hay.

"Be prepared when you hear a commotion coming down here, it doesn't sound like I've lost many men up there, but he's extremely dangerous right now. Make sure Hunnie summons that spell right away! Oh, and it's soundproof down here. He'll put up a fight before we can drag that demon down here. He's smart, so be ready."

Leolo says in his thick heavy french accent and leaves us alone. I began pacing back and forth while Hunnie sat on a steel bench next to a small pile of hay. I sat next to her, hugging her tightly when she began sobbing.

"I don't know what to believe.

What is wrong with him?

This can't be happening." She cries.

"Its' another demon, Hunnie. Don't worry."

She abruptly broke our hug, looking up at m with her puffy red cheeks and glossy eyes as if I had two heads.

"Another De-mon?

Like, from Hell?"

"Yes, he told me himself."

My head lowers, swarming with so many questions. I asked him if we would be safe. He said he had this!

Nothing made sense anymore.

Did his mother know I was his child?

Am I even his child?

How can Bahm be my father when the story was his mother took the child from him and his angel girlfriend almost 1500 years ago?

Am I immortal?

Is Annie even my birth mother!!!!

I began bawling, choking on my saliva at this series of cruel events. Things I would never want to repeat or envision again started coming to my thoughts, and I got sick, expelling on the side of the bench and onto the dirt flooring.

This whole dilemma was sickening that I couldn't handle it anymore. Is this how Bahm is feeling? Is this why he gave up his soul?

"Oh, Kris!"

Hunnie pats my back and rubs my head as I dry heaved."Are you going to be alright?"

"NO, HUNNIE!

I WON'T BE!"

I roared upsettingly, wiping my mouth and closing my eyes harshly. All at once, everything hits me, the memories of good and bad since I've ever met Bahm.

Oh heavens.

I'm for sure going to Hell now.

I've...

I've done things.

Things a supposed son shouldn't do with their...their father.

God, why?

My hands shook miserably, and the blood was pounding in my ears. My vision turned into a tunnel as I began breathing slowly, placing my hand on my heart. It hurts so much here.

Shifting my nails, I hook them into the fabric of my shirt, clutching my body intensely, crying even harder than before.

I didn't ask for any of this.

A hand touches my back, and a cold shiver runs down my spine.

Let me forget this.
