The magic around my barrier was swift!

Concealed with the invisible spell Bahm taught me, I zoomed around the castle, peeking down the long halls before quickly proceeding.



I was still a bit nervous some of the supernatural beings in the court would be able to detect me, hear me, or even see me, so I tip-toed for the most part, keeping quiet and avoiding anyone.





Once I arrived in the hall leading down to the dungeon, soldiers heavily guarded the front door, three on both sides of the corridor and two directly on the door. There was no way I could open the doors in front of them!



So far, from standing here for over five minutes now, only one person has entered and hasn't come back yet!

Examining every soldier's demeanor, I clung and slid against the wall to the farthest side away from them and stood near the door. My stomach was heavy in the process.





"Captain Leol!" I heard a soldier announce, causing me to run down another hall in fear. I was afraid Leolo would be able to sense me out.



"Has the Demon said what it wanted yet?" Leolo spoke, and I peeked out from behind the corner.





"It keeps saying the same thing over and over.

We don't know who's talking down there."

I scoff at the guard speaking. They can't tell if they're talking to their King or not.





"Suki shall be arriving, sit still a little longer, and no one goes back down anymore. Until we figure out what to do with the dead wolf bodies."





"Yes, Commander!"



After witnessing the soldiers bowing, and Leolo walking away, I began tip-toeing around the corner just as I heard the loud suction of air being released from the dungeon doors. Gosh, I'm already out of breath. I need to go now!





"YOU WILL BRING WHAT I WANT!!" A throaty roar slips through the door just as I quietly slide passed the Second in Command, who makes his way out the door.





As soon as I snaked through, a sudden ache started forming between my thighs as I took steps down the stairs. The pain shot through my womanhood as I held under my stomach for support.



Once I arrived in the stone room, a large black cage around the perimeter caught my eye, but not before I noticed Bahm lying in the middle right away. He wasn't moving and wore just a pair of shorts.



Slowly, I crept up behind his head, leaning my face close to the bars to get a good look at his face, when he suddenly threw his head back and looked straight at me. Startled, I jumped back. Can he see me even though I'm invisible.?



His eyes widen, and a slight grin hits his face before it vanishes.

He stands on his feet right away.



Without a word, I only stood there wondering if it was true. He can see me!





"You see me?"





"Of course, I can," he smiles charmingly. "It's my spell!"



Feeling a bit skeptical, my eyes wander all over his face.

Bahm chuckles, showing his slightly elongated fangs before he answers my question. I wasn't even sure if this was him or not. He seems odd.

I watch him keenly for a moment, his eyes, mouth, and body. It all seemed the same, even the twinkle in his eyes every time he saw me.

I follow him, questioning why he is waiting for me, and his answer lights my heart.

I was going to exercise the demon--"





Suddenly he turns away, giving me his back, and begins growling quietly while rubbing his temple.

Finally, he turns to face me, a face full of sadness with glossy red eyes.





"Just seeing you is enough for me to want to fight him.

"Please.

I promise not to hurt you.

A sob leaves my mouth. Oh, how I love this woman so much.

She came through exactly when I needed her to come through.



The demon was gone. He couldn't stand the sight of Hunnie and shockingly gave me my time alone. He already had plans to escape here, and they didn't involve her one bit. That sparked higher levels of ideas.



Surprisingly, she placed her hands on the key lock, saying a spell to magically un-enchant it, and pushed it open. I took small steps back so she could trust me, even though The Gate Keeper was watching and I was about to do something he wouldn't expect.



"You won't hurt me, right." She says timidly, taking a step through the cage doors.

The hairs on my body rise with anticipation and eagerness. Of course not, my love.



She did it.

I couldn't wait to be in her arms if we succeed.





"Of course not.

You can leave right after.

They'll b looking for you soon, and your shower trick won't last long."





"How do you know I did that?" She stood by the door, and as I took closer steps to her, her beating heart accelerated. As it should.

At this point, I was conveying anything she wanted to hear to keep her in the cage long enough and to stop The Gatekeeper from returning. She was critical to me. More vital than she even knew.



With those dreamy eyes looking up at me, even at a time like this, I embrace Hunnie in my arms, distracting him so I can get more time alone with her. He thinks I'm good at being a mate and watches.



He already knew what Hunnie and my people were planning on doing, so he also planned on fleeing right away, but not before draining the rest of the castle and my Kingdom.

Her question angered me, allowing the demon to control my mind again. He was fully awake, wanting to know exactly what I was up to, so he took over my body like a sleeping bag.

I yelled to let me have more time, but he said he wanted to play now. It scared me.

Would he do something to hurt my mate?
