Neither Dead, or Alive

Leolo Alarie's P.O.V







The scent of The King eases its' way into my nostrils momentarily, but then it diminishes.





That's odd.





His scent shouldn't be anywhere around the castle but the dungeons.





My eyes widened at the possibilities just as I used my vampire speed to go across the castle and back toward Madam Fei's chambers.

The scent must be coming from his mate. That would be the only explanation. My mind had been on alert since The King had become possessed, and all I could think about was the safety of everyone in the castle.





"Commander Leol Approaching!" Yelled one of my soldiers close by in our link.







"I'm here to see The King's mate, please."





After bowing to the madam's guard, Alfred, I stepped in, getting a whiff of everyone in the chamber and their heartbeats.



Following my keen sense of smell, it told me Hunnie, the mate, was showering still. There shouldn't be much to worry about, then. She's safe and sound.





Well, that was until Madam Fei arrived in her chambers.





"Are you all ready for the Dark Witch?"





"Yes, Your Highness, I'll come back once she's out," I chirped, making my way out.





"Leol?"





"Hmm?"





"Are you feeling alright?"



"Yes, Madam, why do you ask?" Intrigued by what she had to say, I gave her my utmost attention, taking it off of Hunnie.





"Have you heard a heartbeat or even a breath escape from the washroom?"





The chippy expression vanishes from my face as I rapidly move throughout, pressing my ears to the door only to hear silence beside the shower hitting the same spot.





"She's gone!"

I pissed, running, passed her maidens and out the doors towards the dungeons.She's tricked us!



How could that child put herself in danger? If anything happens to her, The king and even Kris would have my head!



Arriving in the dungeon in seconds, rushing passed the cages that once held the thieves and murderers from our Kingdom right away, I sensed something off. The air was thick, and the scent of that Dark Magic didn't linger in the atmosphere anymore.





Something's wrong!





A gasp and a sudden ache in my chest brought me to my knees as I eyed a female body wearing a light blue dress, lifeless in the barrier of the circle.





Oh, no!





Did he feed on her?

His mate!





Without even thinking of touching her body, I rushed to the upper platform of the dungeon, seeking out Kris in his cell.





"Leolo!

Any news on Suki and Hunnie" Kris rushes to the bars once he sees me enter



Holding my posture and head upright, I answered him without looking into his eyes. They were already saddened enough.





"Well..." I start off eyeing the two soldiers posted next to his cell. I didn't want to cause an uproar within the cattle with my findings.





"I think you should come with me."



After my soldiers let him out, we walked down the platform stairs silently and through the stoned room doors.



"Who is that?

Where's Bahm?" Kris shrieks immediately, running up to the cage and stepping in without hesitation.





"HU-HUNNIE!

HUNNIE?" He shouts.







"Excuse us!" Dismissing the soldiers that happened to walk in, I felt pity for Kris. On all of them.





"Why is she bleeding?

Is this The Demon's doing?"





"I believe so, but that mark smells like Bahm's scent, and she isn't drained."

Kris' P.o.v







"THERE'S NO WAY SHE COULD BE DEAD!

You were supposed to be in charge of her!!"





"I- I'm sorry Young Master. She escaped on her own."







"Oh please no, Hunnie, no!"

I lift her head gently into my lap, hugging and inhaling her scent.





"WHY DIDN'T YOU HEAL HER!"

A sobbing roar erupts through the stone room. I was pushing my anger out on Leolo now. How could he just let her out of his sight?



Bearing my canines to him, he kneels apologetically, probably waiting for me to strike him as Bahm does.





"She's dead, Kris. I can't bring her back with my blood. There's nothing we can do. She has no pulse."





I refused to believe there was nothing we could do. For Heaven's sake, she's the mate of a Demon-Wolf King!



I cried, sobbing all over her face and rubbing my hands along the curvature of her stomach.





"There's a heartbeat!" I shouted excitedly...





"Kris, that's the baby's--"





"He's alive?"



I burst into tears, choking on my saliva... How the hell can we save him? We have to act quickly!





"What do we do!"

Leolo says he's already informed his people, but we must be cautious that Bahm could still be in the castle, and we didn't know what to expect.





"I-I can't just leave them like this.

Please stay alive, baby...

I'll protect you."

After cuddling with Hunnie on my lap, I bit into my hand, rubbing the blood along her lips and talking to her son in her stomach.



"Kris, we have to get moving.

She's gone!" Leolo groaned pitifully, but it was too hard to accept...





"-AHHHHH!!!!"



My eyes widened just as Leolo jumped back frighteningly.



To my surprise, Hunnie sinks her teeth into my palms. I didn't know how to act. Why is she doing this?





"Hunnie?" I said, and she whimpered with my hand in her mouth. Her other hand clung onto me, not wanting to stop. Maybe she needed to heal, but then she bit down harder, breaking the muscle in my hands.





"Leolo,

Help me!" I shrieked once I couldn't handle the pain.





"SHE'S BITING THROUGH MY BONES!!" A yelp for help echos up across the ceiling before leolo yanks my hand from Hunnie's mouth.





She doesn't let go, instead, she bites down even harder, erupting a bellowing scream from my mouth.



"GET OFF!!

GET.

HER.

OFF!!"



Hunnie sits up as I stand, still holding my hand before Leolo yells, "'l'll poke her eye," and once he does, Hunnie frees my hand while coughing and rubbing her eye.





I staggered onto my feet, out of breath, not understanding what was happening with Hunnie, and cradling my hand to my chest. Hunnie only continued to cough and dry heave as she sat on the ground, and getting a closer look at her face again, I gasped, falling backward right onto the hand she bit.





HER EYES ARE GREEN!!!



Leolo was stuck staring at her with his mouth wide open and his eyes even more enormous. His expression worried me, for he wasn't moving or blinking.





"Hunnie, what's wrong?

Take it easy!"





"WHERE IS HE!!" she bellows a nasty snarl, then faces me.





The look on her face was murderous.

Why was she so mad? Exactly what happened here? I thought she was dead!





"YOU!

HOW COULD YOU!"

She snaps again, pointing to me, but this time she charges, jumping on my body!





Her hands go into my hair, ripping out my roots before her mouth connects with my chin, and she bites me!





"HUNNIE, STOP!"



She seemed deranged, wailing and kicking in his arms. What has happened to her? Her mouth was full of blood, along with her neck and the baby blue dress she wore.





"Kris!" Leolo even struggled with her, surprisingly.





It began healing when I rose to my feet, holding my chin. Then suddenly, Hunnie stops all her actions and...and...HOLY SHIT!





WHY DOES SHE HAVE FANGS?





Hunnie looks right in my eyes with glowing green eyes that turn black.





"Kris, run!

She wants you!" Leolo groaned through Hunnie's rampant screaming and kicking.





Fuck! has the Demon gone inside of her, too? This was bad, real bad.



My feet finally picked up, running past the two struggling with each other as Hunnie tried her best to scratch and claw LEolo, but couldn't reach him with his height. The second command enters the room skeptically, and his demeanor changes once he sees the commotion.





"Commander Leol." He yells.



"What's going on?"



Suddenly, I hear Leolo shout, "No, Hunnie," before I can even process how quickly she jumps onto the soldier and goes straight for his neck.





This is definitely the Demon!



"C-COMMANDER!! WHAT DO I DO?"



"Just let her be!

I have to get Kris out of here!"

Leolo yells back to his second, who clearly could handle a bite to the neck, but I stand there in shock. Hunnie was acting terrifyingly, scary, and she moved quickly for a woman with a child!



Without looking back, I obeyed Leolo's command and quickly ran around the dungeon, but shortly right after, I stumbled down to the ground with Hunnie on my back.





"Hunnie, STOP!

IT'S ME, KRIS!!!" I yell, pushing her face and chompers away.



Just what in heavens hell is going on with her?





"Kr-Kris?" Her eyes changed back to green, and her fangs disappeared. I helped her up, and she watched my face intently.





"What's going on with you, Hunnie?"





"HE FUCKING KILLED ME!"
