Time to Act

While seething inside this cage, Hunnie's scent flows through my nose wonderfully. It made me feel relief yet nervous all at the same time. Things will be different now.


Her face lights up with a crooked smile, saddened by my presence here in the cage, but after my heinous act towards her, I probably belong here after all.



"Leave them," Leolo says, speaking to the two guards outside my cell.

Hunnie's worried expression as she raced up to the bars with anticipation crushed me. I can't be who you want me to be anymore.






"Kris!
Oh my gosh!" She shrieks. My face had been bashed in and was still in the healing process.






"I'm so glad to see you're okay" A croak slips my lips.





"What happened to your face!"



"Nothing I didn't deserve.





She looked beautiful in the bright yellow romper and the white ballerina shoes. Those beautiful and tight highlighted curls were half up and half down, and she smelled like roses.

I was so delighted they cared for her before allowing her to come and see me. Knowing Hunnie, I knew she would search for me the first chance she got after hearing I was down in the dungeons.



She means the most in this castle to Bahm and me in many different ways. I will protect her for him, despite everything.





"I didn't mean to hurt you...Hunnie," my lips trembled.

"I tried to stop, but it had so much control over my body. I'm sorry." Turning my back to her, I stare off through the small window of my cell. I couldn't handle the ways she was looking at me.





I don't mean anything to you anymore, Hunnie.

If what that Demon said through Bahm, then I have to let you go.






"It's okay, Kris; I'm healed.

But how are you feeling?

I want you out."



She pushed her hands through the bars to call me over, but I kept my distance. There's no way I'd put them in danger again.





"I can't leave the cage until I know that Demon won't control me again."






"But Kris, what do I do?
What can I do to get you out." She panics, wrapping her hands around the bars.





"I'm scared."



I closed my eyes harshly, and her shaky voice made me feel helpless. "Don't be scared, sweetie. You have Leolo as well. He's powerful, but I don't trust myself to come out yet. The beings in the castle will keep you safe too. Trust me on that."





Leolo's flooded the room, and I figured he walked in right then. As I turned back around, he stood by her side with his hands folded behind him in his sophisticated stance. I entrusted him with Hunnie. Now what we need to worry about was Bahm.



"Has anyone checked on Bahm?"



"Yes, one of my men is stationed right outside his cell.

We converted Hunnie's barrier around the circle into a cage. He's still unconscious."







"What's the plan?" Taking many steps closer to the cage, I avoided Hunnie's dreamy and desperate eyes glaring at me as I only focused on Leolo.





"Hunnie says she has a plan, but she needs Suki's help—"





—"Summon a portal right away," I say, interrupting him hastily.





"She can't. She says she needs all her energy for it." I look over at Hunnie, who again sticks her hands through the bars for me to take.







"We're going to--





—"No!

Don't!

Who knows if that Demon is listening through Kris!" Leolo blurts with his hands out, stopping Hunnie from giving away the plan.





"Oh," Hunnie whines sadly and lowers her head.







"My men have already left to fetch Suki, Young Master Kris."







"Kris."

Hunnie says with tears in her eyes.







"I will think about another way I can get you out. Please hang on and don't worry about me."





I wanted to break down at the courage she displayed. My heart turned for her so much I'd die at this point. There was no way I could let her go so quickly.





My hands reach out to hers, slightly grabbing her hand and rubbing her knuckles before retreating to the shadows of my cell.



Shortly after conversing with his men, Leolo and Hunnie leave the dungeon as I hear the big doors shut behind them.



Whatever they were planning, I hope it didn't involve anyone getting hurt. I really wanted all of this to be a dream, a fucked up realm that altered our minds, anything!

Hunnie's P.O.V ༄







"Do you think I'd be able to have some alone time with him, too?"



His face said it all.



They hated him, feared him, and even began treating him like a monster. He's still in there. How can they just put a cage around him when he died from a brutal slash to his throat? It pained me deep inside. They were cruel.





"I don't think that is possible.

He's far too dangerous and already hurt you with Kris."





What was that reasoning?

It's hard to believe he wasn't putting up a fight in there if the Demon was coming after me.

In the past few days alone, he's shown so much growth and has been the best to me! He has so much to live for, and he loves us enough not to become consumed.







I know he does.





"Sir, we've moved all the bodies into the ballroom."





"Bring back the ones that can. The others, leave it to Suki and Hunnie before we try and deal with The King. We'll need all the help."





Leolo's 2nd Commander bows and zooms out of the room.

What was it that they wanted Suki and I to do with the dead bodies before helping Bahm?

I was beginning to become irritated with this all!

I DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING BUT HELP BAHM!





"Is there anything I can get you in the meantime, Your Majesty?" Leolo says once we arrive at Momma Fei's quarters.







"Uhm...some water would be fine."





"There's a fresh glass on the counter, Your Majesty." Leolo smiled and pointed, but I was only trying to get him away so I could sneak down to Bahm.





"Uhm...

Maybe, a different change of clothes. That would be greatly appreciated." I chuckled nervously.





When he disappeared, Momma Fei walked in right after with her entourage behind her. Her living quarters were big enough that I didn't have to be around her or her beings as I sat alone on a bed far away. Though, many questions did weigh heavily on my mind.







"Hello, dear." She says across the room.





"How are you feeling today?

How's my little otokonoko?"



She walks, coming over to this side of the room, and I guessed, referring to my son. Her long pink and white kimono dragged on the flooring behind her, and her makeup was done flawlessly.





Who has time to even do their hair and makeup at a time like this? She should be ashamed while her son is possessed downstairs!







"I'm fine.

I really want to see Bahm." Speaking casually and annoyed.





"It's not safe right now, but I've heard you're going to attempt to set him free?"







"Yes. I'm going to save him. I do believe I know a way." I folded my arm.







"I trust you." She began walking back towards her side of the room, and with sufficiently enough amount of courage, I opened my mouth while she had her back to me.





"Why did you think it was a good idea to keep Bahm away from me?

Also, did you really know about Kris?"





She turns swiftly, and all the beings in the room lower their head before they all leave through the chamber doors.





"Well," she begins, tucking her hands into the wide sleeves of her kimono.





"I...

All I can say was I tried to prevent...

What we are experiencing now. I had doubts about Kris." She sighs, facing away from me and lowering her head.







"Prevent what exactly?"





"Well, I was afraid of how my own son would be from his second banishment to Hell. The first time he was different, taking in multiple demons to his body that he learned to control somewhat. This time might've been too much for him, and I regret it...all. I'm sorry."





She spoke calmly and elegantly, then sashayed her way out the door. I didn't like her responses at all. No wonder why my mate succumbed to his darkness, feeding the Demon inside of him. He's a tribrid, yes, but he still deserves love and care. Not to be treated like a monster who can't make his own decisions and is feared. He has a good heart. I've seen it!





I was never one to use magic as trickery, but I so desperately wanted to see my mate, especially after having a talk with his mother. After Leolo and an elder servant arrived with a change of clothing for me as well as a basket of fruits, I turned the shower on, locked the door, and cut a piece of my hair to leave my scent there.





Now, since I'll be in the "shower, I can cloak my actual scent and open a portal to that room with dirt in the dungeon. I wouldn't wait for Suki's arrival. I will bring back my mate on my own!
