Is It Over, Now?
Kris' P.O.V
After carrying Hunnie's unconscious body back to the castle and taking Leolo's blood to heal, I feared what would happen once they were both awake.
Would everything be the same again?
It hurt to think about how I couldn't have Hunnie as a mate anymore. I loved her dearly. I always will, always and forever.
"Hey, you alright back there?" Leolo asks with Bahm over his shoulders.
"Yeah." A blank groan slips my lips.
"You did good, Kris.
You're a strong kid."
"I'm not a kid!"
"You're an infant in my 2000-year-old eyes."
The soldiers around us began laughing, but no laughter would emit from my mouth anymore, and I wasn't okay. Every fiber in my body convinced me that I was the old and lost son of The Demon Wolf King whom I befriended over 20 years ago.
Suddenly, a sick chuckle escaped my lips, and I laughed like a maniac.
"Well...I'm not that far behind you. If the rumors are true!"
The rest of the walk back to the castle was silent as I walked ahead of them all. Hunnie was talking in her sleep, and I only wanted to hurry and care for her.
Leolo blurted that Mirah was waiting by the edge of the castle border, ready to help care for Hunnie and Bahm immediately.
That wasn't all who waited by the castle perimeter for us.
Momma Fei, Nyku, and some of the dead werewolves Bahm had killed earlier today all waited for us as we exited the jungle.
"Here, here!
I'll take her."
Mirah and two other wolves placed Hunnie onto some magical floating bed that Suki controlled and quickly rushed up the hill toward the castle.
I plopped down on the grass as my feet passed and soaked up the setting sun's rays.
What a day.
I only hoped whatever Hunnie was chanting worked on Bahm, but it seemed it did because his scent was back to normal. Hunnie's scent now smelled like Bahm's much more, too.
I always knew it would be her to save everyone. That's all she ever used to do, save humans and supernatural beings.
"Kris?
Why are you still here?"
Nyku comes into my vision of the sky, as well as a teary-eyed Momma Fei.
I guess I couldn't call her momma anymore, huh?
"I'm just resting."
"Come rest inside."
"No, I'm fine." My chest panted with exhaustion and more so nervousness.
I was afraid to be confronted or confront anyone head one.
Afraid to be judged and cast out.
Why did the heavens have to bestow me such a cruel fate?
"Come, come."
Suddenly momma Fei bends down and pulls me by my arms.
She's never even touched me before, so it felt odd, and I shot her a look of shock.
Her touch was warm and delicate. Even her court maids, that I failed to recognize behind her, had a wary look on their faces, too, ready to always protect her.
"The castle is being worked on as we speak.
I'll take you to your chambers."
She was so kind to me that I couldn't help but stare at her all the while. She never liked me and thought I was terrible for Bahm.
Dreadful memories fill my head, and I burst into tears. My shoulders shook uncontrollably, and she grabbed hold of my head, resting it on her shoulder.
Is this what a mother's love feels like?
I have many questions, but it wasn't even worth asking anyway.
When we arrived at my chambers, I sat on my bed, and surprisingly again, Momma Fei sat right next to me, taking my head onto her shoulders again.
"Is there anything you want to eat, Kris?
You must be so exhausted, and Chef Jacorius is alive now, thanks to Suki."
"No...
I'm just going to shower and check on Hunnie after."
They both nod, and I walk away from my bed and towards my bathroom.
After hearing my chamber doors shut, I undressed and started the shower.
I was thinking of how this Bahm might be bothered me.
Why couldn't I have been placed in a different life where we didn't meet?
Or would he have found me again?

Hunnie Inzotta
"Hey!
She's awakening!
Get the fellas!"
A voice yells so loud my eyes flicker open inside The Healing Chamber. My head spun, and my mouth dry. I felt like Hell itself. Please let it all be a dream!
"Hunnie...
How are you feeling?
It's Mirah."
I lay motionless with my eyes opened, receiving wipes to the forehead and neck. It was hard to stay awake, for my body felt heavy and weak. Many heartbeats could be heard, as well as gulps and
My hands slid around under the blanket that coated my body, searching for my bump, and once found, it was hard as a rock! It even felt much more round than before.
"Sweetie, you're son is fully grown now.
Your magic must've triggered phenomenal growth.
He's larger than ever!"
Mirah's voice tickled my ears, and familiar scents flooded my nose. Finally, I snapped out of the daze I held onto, and my eyes landed on Mirah's smiling face. To my shock, she brought a smile out of me, too, as she delicately rubbed my head.
Throwing the blanket off, I looked down towards my stomach, but my eyes landed on Bahm immediately! Standing at the end of the bed with a stupid look on his face! Grr! What is he doing here?
Immediately I sat up, summoning a beam of white light and blasting it right toward his chest. He flies across the room, and other voices I overlooked go into chatter.
"Hunnie, no!"
"He's back!"
I didn't care what they had to say. Bahm and I still had unfinished business, whether or not it was him.
Suddenly Mirah and two assistants following her, along with Nyku, all rush over to Bahm's body, which still hadn't gotten up from the floor.
"Oh, boy!" A man groaned and coughed to my left. It was Leolo, and he lowered his head once I peered over.
"Is he back?" I asked him.
"Yes, Madam!"
"The Demon is gone?"
"Yes!
It seems that way, Madam." He says formally and even bows my way. He didn't have heartbeat.
The women in the room assisted Bahm with standing, and that's when I achingly lifted my legs off the bed and touched the cold hardware flooring. My stomach was huge, indeed! So much pressure between my thighs as I took a few steps.
"How...
Are you...feeling?"
I glared at Bahm's question while he rubbed his face. There was noticeable blood leaking from his mouth, making me feel horrible for blasting him like that.
"I HATE YOU!" I hissed, but I couldn't control the words flying out of my mouth.
"B-But...Hunnie"
"How could you...
I know it was you, too!!" His face saddens, and he lowers his head, placing a hand on the hole I created in his shirt.
"I knew it could only be you that would help me...
I-I figured you'd also want to spend eternity with me." Suddenly, everyone in the room bows towards Bahm and exits The Healing Chambers.
My arms crossed my chest as I thought about what to say, but then he took steps towards me until he was as close as he could get.
"It wasn't me that touched you." He blurted, and my mouth hung open in disbelief.
"You let that thing touch me!"
"I had no control most of the time," He places his hands on my face, kissing my forehead. It was indeed my mate, but his eyes were still full of sorrow.
I step into his body as much as my stomach lets me, and he holds me tightly. His scent eased its way into my nose, and his touch sent goosebumps all over my body.
We stayed in the room for the remainder of the hour, checking my blood levels before and after I ate. Bahm only lay by my bedside, resting when I did and caring for me like the others. He didn't seem to want to leave.
That was until Kris entered the room.
He got off the bed so quickly, rushing out the back doors of The Healing Chamber and not saying a word. That was how I knew he was avoiding Kris, which broke my heart.
Life was about o become a lot more difficult for us all.
"Hey..."
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Kris asked with a calm beating heart until his eyes searched the room and even eyed the second empty bowl by the empty bedside. Then his heart beated nervously.
"I'm feeling fine.
My stomach grew. Look at it."
Extending my hands out to him, he comes close to the bed, and I place his hands on my enormous bump.
"Wow!
You sure it's just one?" I giggled at his comment, and he brushed his knuckles against my cheeks before standing up.
"Bahm's awake, right?" His words came out with a long sigh.
"Yeah."
"Hmm..."
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"Well.
I thought he'd come and speak to me, but I guess I was wrong." He chuckled, but I could clearly feel and connect with the hurt in his words.
"Get some rest, m'kay?" He kisses the top of my head and turns to leave.
