Clearer Minds
Hunnie Inzotta
Bahm was huddled up in the corner of the room with Leolo, assuring him everything would be fine once his memories were too erased.
"I'm going in now.
He's entirely under."
Mirah says, and I nod my head, looking behind me again to ensure my mate and babies are okay and still asleep.
The scapular cuts along the dotted line on Kris' chest, oozing blood right away while suki dotted a paper towel along the cut. Mirah then pulls another syringe from her jacket pocket and injects Kris again, which causes his bleeding to stop.
The pain of feeling like a traitor who couldn't be a good mate had disappeared. It made me sad knowing our mate connection was gone, but now all I could feel and focus on was Bahm's dreadful connection, along with a pained ache in my heart.
Bahm couldn't get himself to watch the process with Kris, and I never blamed him. Their bond on this earth was like anything anyone would ever experience, and on the other hand, I watched Mirah open his ribcage like an expert coroner.
There it was.
Two beating hearts connected right alongside each other. One was a bit larger, and it was Bahm's from its scent.
"Your Highness, it's your turn," Suki slips the helmet device from Kris' head and walks around the other side of the large four-poster bed.
"I want to feel all the pain, don't give me that needle." Bahm spat out in agony. He got up from the floor as Leolo began patting his shoulder. His body shook miserably, and his face was wet.
"Are you sure!!" Both Mirah and I uttered over to him. He nods and staggers passed me to the bed, lying on the other end with his eyes trained on me. I came to him immediately, wiping his face and brushing his hair.
Suki begins with her magic, severing their heart with a beam shooting out of her finger. She was much more skilled than I thought, and I hoped to be a Witchdoctor like herself one day!
I watch the laser beam lifts Bahm's heart out of Kris' body, and then a pulsating dark barrier surrounds it. The fresh scent of Dark Magic was being used, and I knew Bahm was indeed assisting Suki in this.
"Hunnie, I want you also to forget this.
I don't want ever to have to question you and feel like you're hiding something.
Do this for me, too, please." Bahm says.
"Yes, of course," I nod right away. The thought of him discovering why we erased his memories would be horrible for all of us.
Suki tapped me to take the device from her, and I gently placed it over Bahm's head. He closed his eyes harshly just as more tears sprung from his eyes. I placed soft kisses against his quivering lips and instantly opened my portal above his head.
Images of him and Kris began filling the distorted portal immediately. Good times and bad, but he kept his eyes closed the whole time, clenching his jaws before he spoke again.
"Erase it all."
"Sleep," I whispered the enchanting sleep spell, and he fell under soon enough. I couldn't watch him feel the pain when they opened his chest. It was best he was put to sleep too.
I went to work immediately, erasing all his memories of Kris and explaining how Kris had just found him from the scent of his siblings while I was pregnant back in Witchy World's Academy.
"Don't forget, you were sent to Hell by me, and all the times I waited for you to come back, I ran into...
...Into the child you'd created over 1,500 years ago." Gosh, why was this so hard for me? Years and years of memories with Kris would be lost forever by my hands. This was painful for me too.
Soon after, everyone in the room surrounds me, placing their hands over my shoulders.
"It's alright, Hunnie.
This is what he wants." Leolo says.
"You, too, won't remember this pain."
After wiping my face, I continued talking into Bahm's ears and rested my head on his rising chest.
"You don't know anything...anything about Kris, who he is, and where he comes from.
You two have never met, not...not once, not ever.
You will love him as a son and create...create...new memories together. You'll know I went to school with Kris and we were... best friends. You love this idea because you can learn about him from me too." I cried, ending with a finishing touch.
"You were so excited about our children that you fainted."
Mirah instructed me after to sit on the sofa with baby Hubi and Bahari, so I didn't have to watch them hold open his quickly regenerating body while they placed his heart back inside his chest. Sudden tingles course throughout my body, and I only place kisses on the baby's cheeks and wrap them in a blanket to avoid the squelching noises.
With his body wanting to heal repeatedly, it became difficult for them since Mirah didn't have her surgical tools. Leolo had to use all his might to hold open Bahm's flesh with his nails while Mirah used her strength to keep the other end of his chest open so that Suki could finish.
Once they were done, Leolo removed Bahm from the room. If he had stayed here, he would have had too many questions about why he was in The Healing Chambers, so placing him back in the delivery room would've been much more realistic. That way, when he wakes, he will be convinced he fainted.
"With orders from Momma Fei, we've decided to have Suki remove the memory of Kris from everyone close to The King, stating that we all met him today.
Even the guards that lingered when we all found out Kris was his child.
The villagers in the Kingdom would never question, for most never spoke to Kris and always saw him as a Prince." Leolo said once he arrived back into the room.
"The rest, we'll assure."
"That is a good idea," Mirah says.
"We can find a way to manipulate the device, and I'll link over some of my best assistance to get working with Suki's finest disciples to begin. Most of her disciples are vampires coming from a long line of controlling memories, like Leolo himself!
We will do this right away to our pack!"
I looked at Leolo and nodded. That sounded like a good idea. I hoped they could do this before my spell wore off on Bahm, and he woke before his maid's and guard's memories was wiped.
No one knew that Bahm and I would go and live off by ourselves anyway.
Kris would be left here in the castle, in his rightful place as Prince of Ghábaar, while he visited from time to time and raised the twins.
I'm only happy everyone could live in peace with a clear mind.
"Your turn, Your Majesty," Suki says.
I could hear feet outside the door and small chatter from maids and guards as they waited for their memory to be wiped clean of Kris.
I lay in the bed next, tucking my hands into the oversized sleeves of my kimono like Momma Fei does, and closed my eyes. I could feel the helmet placed over my head, vibrating down my spine.
"I don't know what spell you used to make them sleep. You see, I'm a bit older, so I will use my special potion to bring forth unconsciousness. The King might be awake before you, for I doubt you can enchant yourself asleep."
My ears picked up on Suki, pulling out a bag of citrusy dust that my nose picked up right away, and then, I felt the tiny particles hit my face before everything went silent.
