Hiyah Pop!
Bahm
My head pounded in pain, but it all went away once I opened my eyes.
A massive smile forms on my face at the sight of my lovely mate facing me by my side. The sound of her heart beating calmly and her scent soothed me entirely. I brush my hands across her rosy cheeks and kiss her sleeping lips.
Quickly I sat up, searching my surroundings when my eyes went wide.
"MY BABIES!" A harsh whisper leaves me.
The castle had three unfamiliar scents, two of which came from the opposite side of Hunnie. Immediately, I peeked behind her, eyeing the two little ones wrapped in black silk and sleeping.
So it wasn't a dream after all!
The memory of the whole delivery came back to me, and how powerful was that baby girl of mine! My son scented like he needed a change of his nappy, but I rushed off the bed, soaking up their scents and rubbing my nose across their heads. My little ones! How ecstatic was I that I could have children!
"Oh!
You've woken Prince Kristopher!"
Pince Kristopher?
Who the hell--
I grabbed my head after hearing Leolo's voice across the castle.
Oh yeah...
Another pained memory crept its way into my skull.
I almost forgot about my son, that flew in for the delivery today!
How could I forget that?
What did my little princess do to me?
I shook my head.
There was no memory I'd even met him yet, and I grew very nervous.
Oh, shit!
My firstborn has found me!
Tears fell from my eyes as I paced back and forth in the room, pulling my hair and continuing my eavesdropping between Leolo and him.
I wondered what he looked like!
"I feel sick...and hungry..."
"You had a very long flight here, Your Royal Highness.
We picked you up from the human airport, and you slept immediately!
Dinner is almost ready." Leolo says.
His scent, my son...he smelled like me with a slight odor of his own. It was so hard to believe after centuries and centuries, he was alive this whole time! I had so many questions for him, but at the moment, I grew timid, wondering if he could accept a monstrosity bastard as his father.
"Mmmm...Bahm?"
I turn to hear Hunnie awakening. Just from looking at her, my heartbeat accelerated in my chest. A feeling that felt so new that I wanted all of her right now!
"Hey!
You're awake!
Anyone ever told you how majestic you look in a kimono?" I kissed her forehead as she sat up and scooted to the edge of the bed.
"You seem nervous?
What's wrong?"
I study her face, remembering how she was now a vampire hybrid thanks to Leolo!
A chuckle escapes from my lips. Boy, am I in for a run with my supernatural family!
"Umm...
Well, I just remembered my son is here in the castle...and I have NO IDEA....what to say to him!
Like...where do I begin?
You know him more than I do...uhhh, I'm freaking out!"
"Hey!
Calm down. I'm sure he will accept anything you have to say. He's yours, after all."
"I mean...
Does he know I'm a Demon?
Does he know his mother was an Angel?
How much does he actually know about me?
For Heaven's sake, I don't even know what he looks like!"
She places a hand on my cheeks, quieting me down and looking into my eyes with her lovingly wide, green ones.
"He will accept whatever it is you tell him.
He's always been very understandable." Hunnie says, but I grew more nervous by the second. I hoped I could be a good father to all of my children.
"Let us go meet him and introduce him to his siblings.
Call him Kris, by the way. I heard Leolo addressing him as Kristopher. That's a big no-no."
"When did you hear that?"
"When I was just waking up."
"Your hearing is that good, too?"
She laughs at my question, saying wouldn't I like to know what else she could do.
We unwrap the sleeping babies from their blankets, and both wake immediately. Their tiny little hands were balled into fists as they prepared to yell their heads off while I assisted Hunnie in changing their nappies.
This brought back memories from the time I held my firstborn in my hands. His body was little, but his mouth sang louder than any canaries I'd ever heard.
Not that I expected it to happen, but I began sobbing as I picked up baby Bahari.
This was all too surreal, yet I was greatly appreciative of how complete I felt.
"What's wrong, my love?
Is everything okay?"
I turned to face Hunnie, assuring her they were only tears of joy, and then I filled her in on my son upstairs. It felt like Dejavu when I began explaining how he had split up from me, but I didn't mind telling her again because he was right here now. Right under my roof and much closer than ever!
We walked into the halls soon after Hunnie fed the babies, and we each carried their wide-opened eyes down to meet their eldest brother.
Kris.
Walking towards my mother's side of the castle, I grew even more nervous once his scent flooded my nose. I stopped walking, holding my chest, which was now consumed with many different emotions I hadn't felt in a while.
"Your father is approaching, Kris."
"Oh!
Already?
Wow, I'm so nervous about meeting him!
Does he know much about me?" His shaky voice said to Leolo.
"I'm scared, Hunnie.
He sounds so...so modern.
I-I...I don't want to mess this up!"
"OH!
I think I hear him!"
My eyes go wide!
Dammnit, how would I not know he would have my hearing?
I could smell his wolf blood way in the delivery room! How can I become this worked up?
"Trust me.
He'd love you." Hunnie says as we stop in front of Nyku's old room.
They must've moved her to give him this space.
Hunnie knocks on the door guarded with Leolo's two soldiers on the side, and they bow to us both before the door opens.
"Ahh!
Your Highness." Leolo bows forward, and we both step in.
"Kris!
Meet your father, Bahm."
Hunnie chirps just as my eyes land on the charming, brown-eyed boy, standing tall with long dark hair passed his ears and suited in our royal silks. My body shivered incredibly at the sight of him. His aura was as magnificent as mine!
With a broad smile and his fingers locked to his front, he speaks, "Hey...old man," and more tears fall from my eyes. He had my eyes, and his built structure was similar to mine, except I was much larger and taller.
"Say something..." Hunnie snapped me back to reality, and I didn't even notice she cradled both babies in her arms.
"Um...Hey..."
"It's nice to meet you, pop finally." He said and began taking strides my way.
"Oh, yea....uh...can I walk up on him like this?" Hunnie laughs at his question to Leolo.
"Yes, Your Royal Highness."
I wasn't sure how to feel once he walked up to me with open arms and wrapped them around me.
My arms were up in the air strangely as if his embrace burned me, but then Hunnie mouths for me to hug him, and I slowly lowered my arms, squeezing his body against mine.
I stood that way for quite some time until he said, "Alright, old man," and lowered his arms.
I couldn't get myself to let go. If I did, would he really still be here?
He seemed well groomed, taken care of, and wealthy by the diamond earrings he wore in both ears and the sparkling silver watch on his wrist.
"Ahh...
Yeah..."
"Oh, sorry.
I don't give out many hugs." I said, and he chuckled, looking over at the babies.
"And these must be my siblings?"
"Oh, yes!
Princess Hubi, your sister, and this is little Prince Bahari, named after your grandfather." She held our children proudly and smiled genuinely brightly.
"So a King, huh...
That makes me--"
"The crowned Prince, yes," I exclaimed and coughed, fixing my posture and wiping my face.
"WOW!!!"
He says, eyeing around the large quarters of his and out into the hall.
"So...
Who else lives here?
It couldn't be just you two.
This place is bigger than my penthouse back home!"
Leolo clears his throat and eyes me, preparing to answer in my place. After nodding my head for him to speak, he initiated.
"Madam Fei, your grandmother has gone into The Kingdom to prepare for your arrival. I hope your stay will be long because she won't want you to leave since she's acquired not one but three grandchildren in her lifetime."
"Wow!
I have a grandmother too.
Is she human, or...?"
I tilt my head to the side.
What a strange thing to ask.
"Why would you assume she's human?"
Cheerfully, he says, "Well, I'm human, and so is my mother," I look at Hunnie confusingly, as she did back to me. Has she not informed him that I'm a Demon and how he, too, was supernatural?
"You aren't a human...Kris."
Another chuckle leaves his mouth, and he glares over at Hunnie, then back to Leolo.
"I can smell your wolf from here."
"Ahaa....haha...haa...no.
I'm no wolf." He laughed nervously.
"What do you think I am?"
"Seems we have so much to catch up on.
Let's have dinner first!" Hunnie clears the air.
"I don't have to call you mom just yet, right?
Things are weird here enough since I grew up with you."
