CONFRONTATION

**AURORA'S POV**

I have asked Jacob to meet me in a coffee shop because I think the change of atmosphere will help him talk to me freely. At first, he was trying to avoid meeting me but then I scolded him and kind of ordered him to meet me or the consequence won't be favorable to him.

On the other hand, Arthur has gotten discharged from the hospital a few days ago but he still needs to take plenty of rest. I tried to keep Aiden with me knowing it wouldn't be easy for Arthur to look after a child in his state. But both father-son don't want to be away from each other. So, yeah my apartment is empty again.

I have already booked a cab so it doesn't take long for me to reach the shop. I pay the driver before walking inside and instantly spot Jacob by the window. I go there and clear my throat to get his attention making his head turn towards me. He smiles at me although I can see that his smile is not reaching his eyes. I sit across from him and notice that he is already drinking coffee.

"You didn't even wait for me to arrive and already drinking coffee, that's bad bro." I remark pouting at him.

"I reached here before time so ordered coffee." Jacob replies making me sigh.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Good and you?" He replies.

"Not good because my brother is not sharing his pain with me." I remark truthfully.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He answers not making eye contact with you.

"Jac, if you remember you told me that you have a misconception that the person you love will love you back one day." I let out making him look at me with confusion but still nods his head in response.

"What will you do if I tell you that the person has the same feeling for you too?" I ask while his eyes widen.

"Aurora, please don't play with me." He says and it's my turn to roll my eyes.

"Do you think I will joke about this matter which is a serious case? Jac, both Nicholas and I guessed that you must have something to do with Arthur or you wouldn't have reacted the way you did after learning about his divorce. So, when Arthur gained sense Nicholas showed him your photo and just as we thought Arthur accepted that..." I let out leaving the sentence incomplete intentionally.

"What did Arthur accept?" He asks in a desperate tone.

"Umm..." I let out taking a sip of water.

"Aurora for fuck sake tell me everything." He says while I smirk internally.

"So, you are saying that Arthur is the person who you love." I remark.

"Aurora, I will tell you everything but first tell me what Arthur has accepted." He says looking like he can cry any time soon which I don't want.

"Why don't you go to his house and ask him by yourself? I am pretty sure you already know where he lives." I reply shrugging my shoulders in response.

"I can't." He whispers but loud enough for me to hear.

"And why is that?" I ask raising my eyebrows at him.

"Because he has told me that he doesn't want to be my friend anymore which means he doesn't want to see me." He replies making me roll my eyes.

"Are you dumb? I am trying to be a matchmaker and you are already backing away without trying. So, hear me out and do as I am telling you. You have to meet him and you both need to clear things out between you two." I explain hoping he will take my advice.

He doesn't say anything for a long time so I decide to order cold coffee for me. I think he is processing everything I have just told him and pretty sure it's not easy for him to digest them easily. I thank the waiter who brings the coffee and then take a sip appreciating the taste.

"I am going to Arthur's house." He says after a few minutes.

"Like right now?" I ask with a big smile.

"Yes, right now. Will you go with me?" He asks in which I shake my head.

"I want you to talk to him alone." I reply and then look at the watch on my wrist.

"Also, Aiden won't be home at this hour so I will get bored without him." I add.

"Are you sure I should go?" He asks looking at me for assurance.

"Of course, you should go. I am sure Arthur will be very happy to see you." I reply smiling gently. He hugs me before rushing out of there making me squeal internally.

I quickly sent a text message to Nicholas informing that our plan has worked. Yes, it's both of our plans to force Jacob to meet Arthur knowing that they need this push very much. After that, I pay for my cold coffee and get out of the coffee shop.

Suddenly, I hear a familiar voice from the other side of the road so I look to find Matthew along with some of his friends talking among themselves. Not wanting to face any of them I start walking out of there. But I think I am not so lucky this time.

"Is that you, Aurora?" Someone asks making me stop before I take a deep breath and turn around to see Tom who used to flirt with me in front of Matthew but Matthew never gave a fuck about that.

"Hello, Tom." I let out looking at him with a blank face.

"Wow, you have gotten more beautiful." Tom's remarks make me cringe internally because he is looking at me like I am some snack.

"Err.. Thanks. By the way, I have to go or I will be late for my work." I reply in a hurry.

"Yes, Tom let her go. Her new boyfriend must be waiting for her." I clench my fist in anger hearing the taunting voice of Matthew. But then his words register in my mind which makes me look at him with a glare.

"What did you say?" I ask.

"That your new boyfriend is waiting for you. By the way, why are you looking so shocked as if I have said something wrong?" Matthew says smirking at me while his friends smile evilly like before. They all are still the same, get happy seeing a woman being tormented. But they are wrong if they think I will let them taunt me this time because I am not the same as before.

"Actually, you are right. My boyfriend is indeed waiting for me so I have to rush. Also, thank you for understanding my thoughts without me saying anything, Matthew. I was just being a little shy to accept the truth." I answer smiling sweetly at them, especially towards my ex-husband who is now scowling at me.

"So, that Nicholas is really your boyfriend?" Matthew asks or should I say growl but he sounds like a dying cat to me.

"Yup, Nicholas is my boyfriend. Got a problem with that? If you do then you can talk to him." I reply and turn around before walking away from there holding my head high.
