LONG LOST AUNT
**AURORA'S POV**
"Do you think I can convince Owen's mother about Evelyn?" Nicholas asks while taking my hand in his own. We are on our way to Evelyn and Owen's place where the dinner will take place. But today Nicholas is not driving the car, instead his driver is on duty today.
"I am sure you can. Both you and Evelyn have been brought up like any other middle-class children and both of you know the importance of family as well as money. I think Owen's mother is just a little insecure which we will surely be able to get past." I reply smiling at him.
He doesn't say anything in response just nods his head. I put my head on his biceps to rest as he has told me that it will take a few more minutes to reach there. I feel him kiss the top of my head making me smile shyly.
"We are here." I hear David informs.
"You wait." Nicholas says to me and goes out of the car before opening the door for me to get out.
I hold his hand as we make our way towards the two-story house which is very modern looking. I have never been here so I am feeling a little nervous. Also, I may have assured Nicholas that Owen's mother will understand Evelyn but if anything goes wrong then I won't be able to forgive myself.
Nicholas rings the bell while I squeeze his hand. The door gets open by Owen who welcomes us inside. I look around the interior of the house and find myself smiling when I catch the sight of many photo frames of Evelyn and Owen on the walls.
"Thank God, you are here." Evelyn says as soon as she sees me before hurrying to give me a hug.
"How are you doing?" I ask worriedly because she is not looking good.
"Bro, I am going to steal your girlfriend because I have a lot to talk to her." Evelyn says making both I and Nicholas look at her with wide eyes.
"Don't be so shocked guys. The tabloids are full of news about both of you being in a relationship." Owen comments with a cheeky smile. I am sure my whole face is red by now so I just glare at him playfully before following Evelyn to the kitchen.
"Now, tell me what you want to talk." I say looking at her.
"Is it true that you and bro in a relationship?" Evelyn asks making me sigh.
"Yes, it's true. Actually, it wasn't true at first but then Nicholas asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes because I feel like I can give him a chance." I reply truthfully.
"I am really happy that you have given him a chance because you deserve to be loved and I know that he will definitely do his best to keep you happy. By the way, may I know what do you mean by the news wasn't true at first?" She says.
"I went to meet Jacob yesterday and when I was coming out of the cafe I encountered my ex-husband along with his friends. He started talking about Nicholas being my boyfriend and out of anger I accepted it. I think he is the one to spread the rumor but in the end, Nicholas really asked me to be his girlfriend." I explain shortly not going into much detail.
"Wow, okay! But I think you should thank that crazy ex-husband of yours because without knowing he played the cupid." Evelyn remarks making me giggle.
"By the way, have you finished cooking?" I ask looking around.
"Yes, I am done. I just hope Owen's parents like what I have cooked." Evelyn replies nervously.
"I am sure they will because on a serious note, you are an awesome cook." I let out.

After half an hour, Owen informs that his parents have arrived so both Evelyn and I walk to the living room where everyone is sitting. But suddenly my eyes fall on a very familiar face which makes me confused as well as happy because I haven't seen the person in years.
"Aunt Cathy!" I exclaim with surprise looking at the woman who is none other than my father's younger sister. But I don't think she remembers me as we haven't seen each other since I am a little kid.
"How do you know my Mom?" Owen asks while I look at him with a teary smile.
"You are Oten!" I exclaim feeling nostalgic.
"Oten? Is that you Aurora?" Aunt Cathy says standing up from the couch while I nod my head in response.
"Oh, My God! I can't believe I am meeting you after so many years." Aunt Cathy says before both of us embrace each other.
"Mom, I am confused." Owen lets out.
"Owen, don't you remember your little cousin Ruru?" Aunt Cathy says making Owen scrunch his face as if his mother is saying something unusual but then realization is drawn to him.
"You mean Uncle Patrick's daughter? Your niece?" Owen asks while both Aunt Cathy and I nod our heads.
"Holy Shit! My cousin was in front of me for so many months yet I didn't identify her. I am so sorry, Ruru." Owen says before walking towards me and hug me gently.
"Can you guys please elaborate exactly what's going on?" Nicholas asks looking irritated.
"This is Aunt Cathy, my father's younger sister which makes Owen my cousin." I reply happily.
"Okay, we get it. But why it looks like you guys haven't met for a long time?" This time it's Evelyn who asks the question.
"Because my family disowned me when they got to know that I was planning to divorce Owen's biological father." Aunt Cathy answers making my heart clench because I didn't know that. Mother told me that Aunt Cathy didn't want to keep any contact with us.
"Seems like it's a family tradition to disown the members if they do something of their choice for betterment." Nicholas remarks with a bitter chuckle.
"What do you mean?" Aunt Cathy asks making me gulp in anticipation if I should tell her about myself or not.
"I will tell you everything some other day. I don't want to spoil our moods because it's been a long time since I have got to talk to you. So, why don't we sit and chat?" I let out trying to change the topic and thankfully it's work because Aunt Cathy doesn't ask anything back.
**NICHOLAS'S POV**
Day by day mystery around Aurora is getting deeper. I am not saying that I don't believe her because I do and I know that whatever happened in her past must be related to Matthew. But right now, I don't want to talk about him because then things may not work out between Aurora and I knowing how sensitive she can be sometimes. However, I am happy at least there is someone in her family who loves her for who she is.
Never in a million years I have thought that my sister's mother-in-law would turn out to be Aurora's aunt. But now I don't have to worry about Evelyn because Cathy has accepted her with open arms and also apologize for the way she has behaved.
We all enjoy a delightful dinner with talking and joking around. I look at Aurora who is smiling so brightly that it can be seen in her eyes that she is indeed very happy.
Finally, the time comes when we say goodbye to all and get into the car to head towards my penthouse. Although Aurora rejects saying that she wants to go to her apartment but I convince her to stay with me for the night.
By the time, we reach my place she is already asleep so I carry her in my arms before walking inside my bedroom and put her on the bed. I take off her shoes and pull the blanket over her while looking at her with adoration. I take a quick shower like I do every night and wear sweatpants because I don't want to make her uncomfortable by being naked.
I sit beside her on the bed and open my laptop because I need to get some work done. Halfway through my work, I feel her hands wondering around as if searching for something. So, I put my hand in her reach and surprisingly she holds my hand as if it some pillow. I can't help but chuckle at her cuteness.
For another hour, I send emails and then put the laptop on the nightstand before lying down beside her. Instantly, she puts her head on my chest making me feel like I can do this every day. This is the first time I am sleeping with someone without being sexual with them. I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer to me. I kiss her on the top of her head before closing my eyes to let her sleep in.
