REVEALING THE PAST

**AURORA'S POV**

"Wow, what a pleasant surprise!" Matthew remarks smiling brightly making me clench my fists in anger.

Yes, my least favorite person means Matthew is in the cabin with Nicholas. The excitement I was feeling earlier has vanished completely seeing the disgusting monster here.

"Have we interrupted any meeting guys?" Evelyn asks cheerfully not knowing that I don't want to be in the same room as Matthew.

I look at Nicholas who is looking at me with a somehow calculating gaze as if he knows what's going on in my mind. So, I avoid his intense gaze because right now I need to get out of here before Matthew opens his mouth.

"No, you haven't. I am going to leave anyway." Matthew replies then turns to look at Nicholas.

"I hope we will be able to sign the deal, right my friend?" Matthew says looking at Nicholas with a smug expression which I don't like a bit.

"Sure why not." Nicholas replies with a blank face but I can see the underlying anger in his brown orbs.

"It's good to meet you, Evelyn and your friend too." Matthew remarks looking at me for one second before smiling at Evelyn who smiles back in response.

"Fionna said that you are signing some papers and that's why we walked in without knocking." Evelyn says smiling sheepishly at her brother who shakes his head in a dismissing manner.

"He was in the city so he came to meet me. So don't you worry and just sit here." Nicholas replies pointing at the chairs across from him.

"Actually, I have to go and meet Owen who just text me that he is downstairs. So, you guys talk and I will join you soon." By saying this Evelyn rushes out of there but not before winking at me making me realize that she just wanted to bring me here.

I hear footsteps coming towards me and I don't have to look up to know who it is as there are only two people left in the room. Soon enough, I can feel his presence near me while he puts his fingers under my chin lifting my chin to make me look at him.

"You don't like him at all, right?" Nicholas asks and I clearly understand he is talking about Matthew.

"Do you have some time to spare?" I ask because I don't want to hide from him about my connection with Matthew.

"Come here." He says before taking my hand in his and sit down on the available couch in his cabin.

"Now, tell me why are you looking so nervous?" He asks pushing a stray hair behind my ear.

"Nicholas, I know that you will never force me to tell you about my past but now I think I should tell you some important part of my past which involves Matthew Adams." I reply while my throat feels like closing down by the anxiety I am having.

"Auro-" I squeeze his hands stopping him from saying anything because I know he will try to stop me.

"Matthew Adams is my ex-husband." I let out while a lone tear slips past my eye.

"Aurora..." He whispers.

"I was married to him three years ago but due to some reason, he divorced me. I will tell you about the reason soon but not now." I let out.

"So, the rumors about his first wife..." He says nervously.

"They are false just to make me look like the bad person. I never cheated on him, instead it was his who cheated on me with Sienna. To be honest, I didn't even know that he has spread such rumors about me in front of people. I found out about it on Evelyn's engagement day." I further add.

"I will kill him." He murmurs before getting up from his place angrily.

"Nicholas, don't leave me." I let out in a desperate tone making him halt in his steps. He turns around and looks at me with painfilled eyes making me sob. He opens his arms while I put myself in his embrace. I cry my heart out because it feels like a heavyweight has been lifted off my chest after telling him about my divorce.

"I will never leave you, my precious. You are the stillness in my life that I needed but I didn't know before. However, now that you are mine I will not let you go ever again. I am not a fool like Matthew to see the real gem and I am promising you that I will remove all the false rumors about you." He says while holding me close to him.

"I don't care about those false rumors anymore, I just need your trust." I reply just as he pulls away from the hug to wipe my tears with his palms.

"You have my full trust, Aurora. Because I know that you can never do anything wrong." He says making me pout because he is just too sweet to me.

"Now why are you pouting? You know it's doing nothing good to me." He says making me worried.

"What's happening to you? Are you not feeling well?" I ask while putting my right palm on his forehead to check if he has a fever. But to my surprise, he starts laughing.

"Why are you laughing, Nicholas? If you are not feeling well then you should rest." I tell him but that only makes him laugh harder. Finally, after a few minutes of laugh he calms down.

"What am I going to do with your innocence? But as for now, I want to do something. Can I my precious?" He asks while putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"You don't need my permission to anything, Nicholas. You are your own person and you have sai-" a pair of lips on my own cuts off my talking. It takes me some seconds to realize that Nicholas is kissing me. I feel myself breathing heavily but soon calm down when he starts rubbing my waist soothingly. Before I know it I have started to kiss him back. After some time he stops kissing me before putting his forehead on me.

"I am glad to know that I don't need permission to kiss you whenever I want." He says making me blush when I realized what he was talking about earlier.

"You are getting more pervert, Nicholas." I reply with a soft voice.

"But I am your pervert." He replies making me giggle.
