Ability
Sofia grinned, looking at Ruby who was silent with a confused face. Obviously Sofia could easily read Ruby's feelings of jealousy.
Meanwhile Lucien seemed unconcerned and focused on the game in front of him. Everyone watched as the game progressed until it got to a point where the jockeys and the people who used their services were nervous, except for Lucien who still showed a calm expression at 23 minutes.
Sofia smiled, she could already guess the end of this game which Lucien would definitely win. Not because of the devil's power that he has, but because of the talent he has since he was a human.
"He's really great!" Sofia thought. Not only Sofia, the jockeys who were against Lucien were secretly thinking the same thing. As if they had no chance to overtake him.
"Tch, his skills even match Lucien's. Who the hell is he? He couldn't be the living Lucien, could he? That bastard is dead, a damn traitor. If he had stayed with me and shared everything with me like I always did for him, I wouldn't have need to get rid of it like that." Inner Victor. He was starting to feel uneasy now, because it was the same as a few days ago. Tonight it looks like he's going to lose again.
This made him a little overwhelmed because he had to lose a very large amount of money in one week. He couldn't understand why the best jockeys he used looked like losers to the same people.
"Looks like you lost again, my dear!" Ruby said while holding back a smile. He found it funny because this was the first time he saw Victor look so agitated.
"His abilities are exactly the same as Lucien's. This is really weird."
"What if you're wrong! And he really is Lucien?"
Hearing Ruby's question, Victor immediately looked at her with an annoyed expression on his face. Even though he knew that Victor's anger wasn't something he could handle, somehow this time he wasn't afraid at all. Precisely he felt that this was something interesting and rare.
"If he really is Lucien, don't ever think that you can come back to him, Ruby! Because I would never let that happen!"
"If he was Lucien and you had to choose between us, who would you choose?"
"What a strange question!"
"Nothing strange. You always said that Lucien was someone very important to you and no one could replace him. I didn't really know what he meant to you, did you love him? Or were you just too obsessed with him? But the way you wanting to always have him makes me think that he is more than just your subordinate or someone closest to you."
Victor held back his laughter not because Ruby said something wrong. But precisely because Ruby is the only person who can truly understand her strange and dark thoughts.
Victor put his arm around Ruby's shoulders and kissed her on the lips with a little force. He loves Ruby, but even Ruby cannot replace Lucien's position in his life.
Victor whispered in Ruby's ear, he knew this wasn't something he could say in a crowded place like this. But somehow he really wanted to say it now.
"For me Lucien is my soul mate. These feelings are not romantic feelings like the feelings I have for you, Ruby. They are emotional attachments that only Lucien and I can understand. I can replace your position at any time, but I can never replace Lucien's position because there will be no no one could be like him, except for that man sitting over there!" Victor said while glancing at Lucien who was still at the gambling table.
Ruby shuddered while swallowing hard, she knew that there was nothing more she could say now. But somehow he felt that there was something Victor was planning.

Victor stretched out his hand for a handshake and congratulated Lucien on the second win in the last week, in which he also suffered two defeats. But different from before, this time Victor didn't feel angry or annoyed even though he had to lose a lot of money. This defeat actually made him think of an interesting plan.
"Levi Mayr, congrats for getting Mr. Reinhardt to win tonight. You are truly outstanding, it makes me think of employing your services in your services in the future." He said with a big smile. Lucien tried to hide his disgust. He knows Victor very well and how cunning he is who will never waste the opportunity he has.
Lucien refused to shake hands and chose to stare at Victor with his cruel and cold wolf eyes.
"It doesn't matter as long as I get paid accordingly!" He said without preamble and the answer immediately made Victor laugh.
"Hahaha...you really are a very interesting person, Levi! I'm sure I'm not the first person to say that, right?"
"Unfortunately you're the first to say it!
"Really? I think I'm the thousandth person to think that you're both attractive and talented. I think it would be a shame if your talent wasn't properly developed." Victor looked at her like the first time they met 10 years ago. The look on his face, the words he spoke and the look in his eyes were exactly the same as if to say that he would become his most valuable asset.
Lucien didn't expect that he would be faced with something like this once again after he struggled to escape the clutches of Victor who for years kept him as a slave to fulfill his ambitions.
But different from 10 years ago, where he didn't know that accepting Victor's offer meant the same as entering the crocodile cage, this time he was no longer a stupid human who deliberately knocked himself down, but he was the one who would lure the crocodile out of its cage and slaughtered him viciously.
