The Executors
The Oakhouse Building, Las Vegas, Nevada
Lucien glanced at the watch on his hand, he was already in front of this 20-floor building on time. He was a little surprised because this building was much more like an apartment than the secret headquarters of the most feared assassins.
He decided to park his car and walked towards the elevator that would take him to the 18th floor, the place he had been promised. Again, it was hard for her to believe something like this considering the grievous betrayal she had experienced. However, what else was he afraid of now? With his strength, it would be easy for him to kill anyone.
Lucien stood in front of a door, which opened before he could knock. A bald-headed man with black glasses appeared from behind the open door.
The man had a straight face and immediately opened the door wide without saying anything. His black suit, which looked very neat, made Lucien think of the mobsters that Victor often worked with.
As she walked into the room, she could smell the oak trees from the air freshener. The light that is not too bright and the quiet atmosphere increasingly shows the message behind all of this.
Dozens of men and several women were in a room with several black sofas lined up. Neat black suits and party dresses that look elegant are used by some women. They look like socialites, Victor's fake friends. People who only wanted wealth and social status from him.
On a chair right in the middle of the room, Jayden sat while throwing a sharp glare at him. He should have guessed that this was Jayden's domain, meaning these people must have something to do with the task he was about to be given.
"Welcome, Levi! I congratulate you on joining our group!" Jayden said. Everyone in the room clapped their hands and their faces suddenly changed.
Lucien glanced around the room with a wary gaze. It didn't matter even though he was part of this group, it didn't mean he could trust all of them.
"You don't need to be so vigilant, Levi! Calm down, it's not us you have to watch out for. But our enemies are out there. Meet me, I'm Keith, the number one executor here!"
"You idiot! Who do you call the number one executor? Don't listen to him, Levi. This idiot only killed 32 people, not a lot, right?"
"Renata, I managed to kill 32 people in just six months. Isn't that amazing? Can you imagine how much money I made from all of that?"
"Tch, bullshit! Levi, introduce me, I'm Renata, the most beautiful executor in Supernova Revenge!"
"Executor? I don't understand why you embellish the title of killer? You can call yourselves killers." Lucien said. They were quite impressed because in the first meeting, Lucien had been this frontal. Now they understood why Jayden seemed to dislike him.
"Sharp mouthed, like a real demon!" A man sitting on the couch swore at him. Lucien glanced at him coldly and he took it as a challenge.
"Aren't we devils, Jake? Renata said. Some of them smiled at that because they realized it was true.
"Come here, Levi! You don't have to listen to their chatter too much!" Jayden asked him to come closer. Even though Jayden showed who was in charge here, that didn't make Lucien just respect him.
"Next time I want you to call me directly instead of asking Sofia to do it!"
"Sofia? You mean Seraphina? I'm surprised they still call her by her real name." Renata said.
"Seraphina?" Lucien thought. He was surprised because he just learned Sofia's name at this time.
"I didn't want to involve him either, but that was all Claude's agreement. He was the one who recruited you, therefore he still has the right over you. Because for Claude you are the machine of destruction that he has been waiting for, he is willing to do what Sofia wants. "
"It must be because he doesn't trust you two!"
“That fox woman, she's very cunning. She's aiming for an important position that's why she's looking for potential monsters to join this group. But just because she managed to bring a constantin heir into the pack doesn't mean she can win everything. in Claude's eyes, it would be meaningless if you failed your mission."
"You want me to kill someone?"
"Yes, that is our main task. Killing for anything, money, revenge missions or getting rid of enemies."
"Just tell me what my task is and who I have to kill!"
"Tsk, don't be so overconfident like that, Levi. Hold on to your arrogance until you do well on your first assignment. Because if you fail, you will get punished."
"Punishment? What punishment?"
“Your guts even cringed at the word punishment. That means you're still too scared to face it. I thought it would be too hasty to ask you to join this group in the first place.
"Shut up and tell me what the punishment is?"
Jayden and everyone else in the room were shocked to hear Lucien so boldly snap at Jayden. Neither one of them was too reckless to piss Jayden off.
Jayden glared, that angry look made them realize that the relationship between these two men was terrible. The decision was too rash to make them have to be in the same group.
"Tch, what is Claude thinking by having these two people work together? Oh shit, there's bound to be a big battle!" Renata muttered.
"Haha...that will be really fun! I can't wait to see it and Jayden will definitely win that fight easily!"
"Have you forgotten who he is? Claude has told us that compared to Jayden, we should be more careful of Levi. He inherited Constantine's power, being the first demi-demon Lucifer ever raised."
"Renata, don't forget that combat experience also greatly influences the outcome of a battle. Jayden has taken over 300 lives with his own hands and that isn't something any of us can do."
Meanwhile Jayden and Lucien were still giving each other vicious looks that showed their hatred for each other. Everyone in this room was worried about how Jayden and Luciem could put their personal matters aside while on errands.
"I don't have to tell you everything right now, but it's definitely going to make you regret your decision to be resurrected as a devil."
"Ok, just take that as a warning that I can't fail no matter what, shall I?"
"It's good that you realized that quickly. You just need to show me that you deserve to be my equal opponent!"
"You don't need to worry, because my hands are itching to kill someone."

"Just refuse the assignment!" Says Sebastian. His face was agitated and it made Lucien curious.
"What do you mean?"
"House number 104 in Central ville Housing, isn't it? A few days ago, Sofia spied on all the occupants in the house. And since yesterday, several executors have been stalking the house. It's better if you just refuse the assignment this time."
"What are you saying? You mean I should embarrass myself by turning down my first assignment, is that it?"
"Lucien, you're still too new for this. I'm sure in your previous life, you've never hurt or killed someone. You've only been resurrected by Lucifer for a month and joined this group. Your feelings, your memories and your traits as a human have not completely lost. Being a murderer means letting go of all your emotions. You won't be able to do it in such a short amount of time, even if you have the power of Constantine within you."
Lucien frowned, he really didn't understand what Sebastian wanted to say. It was as if Sebastian was purposely making his heart weak and wavering.
"What exactly do you want to tell me? I'm sure you know something about my first assignment, don't you?"
"I don't know, but what is clear is that this pattern will always be the same. You died at the hands of the assassins, right? You must remember how they mistreated you and ended your life without mercy. The assassins that Victor hired to kill could have been ordinary humans whose hearts have been closed to the pursuit of money. But there is a possibility that they are also beings like us. Because of that they could do the heinous things they did to you."
Lucien fell silent, Sebastian's statement was like a blow to his head. Like it or not, he has to recall the bitter experience he experienced during the last moments of his life. That made him start to think whether he should do something heinous like that too?
"You're right, but I have no other choice right now. I've chosen to become a devil instead of living peacefully in heaven. I did it because I could never forgive what those bastards did to me, especially Victor. Just by tearing him apart shredding and killing him won't be enough to satisfy me. I want him to experience misery far more painful than mine. Yes, I won't go to hell in peace before I destroy his life."
Sebastian took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He knew that he couldn't do anything to influence Lucien's decision to postpone his main task. Because no matter what, it's his choice.
"Okay, if you've decided. I have no right to-"
"I know they made me feel like I had no choice on purpose. They trapped me and forced me to think it was the only thing I could do. They were all the same as that bastard, making me think he was my savior. Loneliness, feeling lonely, the blasphemy and hatred that I received made me think that the only one who could save me from futility was only him. Until slowly I realized that I was nothing more than a machine forced to work to make more money for its ambitions and when I refused to do anything else he wants, then he'll get rid of me and replace me with another, more useful machine. Claude, he wants my power, instead of a money-making machine, he wants me as a deadly killing machine."
"Then what about you? You already know the plan yet you choose to continue with it!"
"You're right about me being too new to this. I'm still the same as before. A weak-hearted human who has gotten used to seeing myself as a slave to someone in power. It's a doctrine in my brain that I just can't shake off. Years later -the years I worked for Victor, doing everything he told me to do, it wasn't easy for me to just slip away from his influence."
"But you managed to escape in the end, didn't you?"
"It's all because of Ruby!"
"Your wife who is now living with Victor?"
"She's the only strength I have to get out of Victor's clutches."
"But he also betrayed you in the end, didn't you think?"
"Ruby, she is the kindest woman I have ever known. She is kind to anyone even to those who hurt her. She is the only love of my life. But because of her I learned one thing, that someone you love the most even if one day it will bring destruction in your life.
Lucien breathed out a breath that felt very heavy. He couldn't forget Ruby especially after everything they did a few days ago. He wanted to hate her so much, just as much as he hated Victor and now he could only wait until his love for her completely disappeared.
