♥ Chapter 25♥
Enzo D'Angelo.
'' Ah, what a relief! '' I murmur, looking up at the night sky illuminated by the city lights. The sky is clear and full of stars, a welcome contrast to the chaos of the hall.
I cross my arms and continue watching the sky, enjoying the momentary tranquility. Suddenly, a tall man surprises me by approaching.
“Alone?” he asks, making me jump in fright.
The man is dressed in black jeans, torn at the thighs and knees, a white blouse, and a blue denim jacket. He's dark with black hair and light blue eyes.
''Do you see anyone else here with me?'' I reply harshly, looking up at the sky again and ignoring him.
''Relax, I'm not here to fight. I just want to relax a bit,'' he says, trying to reassure me.
Even so, he comes closer and stands next to me.
''I'm Charles. And you?'' he asks, trying to start a conversation.
''Enzo.'' I reply without looking away from the sky.
''Are you friends with the twins?'' he asks, noticing my lack of enthusiasm. ''You don't seem to like talking much, do you?
'' No, I'm not much of a talker. '' I let out a sigh.
''How old are you?'' he insists.
''Look, I don't feel like talking. I just want to be alone.'' I say, wanting to end the conversation.
''That's fine.'' He says, understanding, and walks away, leaving me alone.
After a few minutes, I decided to go back to the party. However, I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist, making me jump in fright.
''Holy shit, what a fright!'' I exclaim, recognizing the smell of perfume and realizing that it's one of the twins.
''I'm sorry, darling. '' says Lucas, with an apologetic tone.
''Don't ever do that again, you idiot.'' I say it angrily, my heart still racing from the shock.
'' I'm sorry. '' He laughs lightly and then takes on a more serious expression. ''What was Charles doing here with you?
'' I don't know. I didn't ask.'' I reply, keeping my tone neutral.
''I'm sorry, darling. I got jealous of seeing a guy near you, even though you didn't pay any attention to him. '' Lucas says, running his hand gently over my cheek.
''So you were jealous about something extremely stupid,'' I say, watching him.
''Yes.'' he admits, nodding.
We stare at each other, not knowing exactly what to do next. Then Lucas asks:
''Enzo, can I kiss you?
The serious request and the penetrating gaze make me nervous.
''I don't think you'll like it. '' I say hesitantly.
''Just by kissing you, I've already won the best birthday present. '' Lucas says, pulling my waist closer and holding our bodies together.
I promised I wouldn't kiss anyone who tastes alcohol, but I can't deny the urge to try the kiss one more time.
''All right.'' I murmured, accepting the invitation.
Lucas leans in slowly, and our lips meet with unexpected softness. In the instant of contact, I feel an unexpected warmth run through my body, and the world around me seems to disappear. He takes the initiative in the kiss, and the sensation of his tongue gently touching my lips is both surprising and electrifying.
With a slight tremor of shame and anticipation, I open my mouth a little, allowing the kiss to deepen. Lucas's tongue explores gently, like a light breeze caressing the skin. He holds the back of my neck tightly, a gesture that is both protective and possessive, deepening the kiss with an intensity that makes my heart beat faster.
His warm breath and the rhythm of the kiss create a symphony of sensations. I feel his lips suck mine with an almost desperate urgency, as if he wanted to convey something deep and important through that contact. The taste of alcohol, which should be a nuisance, is softened by his presence and the palpable desire in the kiss. I surrender to the moment, allowing the taste and texture to mix with the emotion that invades my body.
As we separate for a brief moment to catch our breath, the slight burn on my lips and the warmth of his embrace remain, leaving a deep mark of intensity and connection.
''So beautiful,'' he says, pulling me into an embrace. Lucas rests his chin on my head, as he's much taller than me. ''This is the best birthday present I've ever gotten!
I don't say anything and let him hold me, enjoying the moment.
''Let's go inside, it's cold out here,'' he suggests, and I sigh.
''All right.'' I reply reluctantly. I'm not too excited to go back to the noise of the party and the crowd.
''Soon, soon, we'll leave, darling. '' he says, trying to comfort me.
''That “soon” won't be until the morning,'' I say, a little discouraged.
''No, you're more important. '' Lucas says with a reassuring smile.
I allow him to guide me back inside, and the question echoes in my mind: What's happening to me?
