''Good, let's have dinner, and then we'll deliver your gifts. '' Lucas says next to me.

''I said I didn't need a gift, just dinner is fine. ''I comment.

''You deserve it, my love. '' Luan said and kissed my cheek. ''This is nothing.

''He is right, my love. ''I face my mother. ''You deserve it, you are an incredible man.

''Thank you, mother.

Thank God their relatives were gone, I didn't want them here on my birthday.

''Come, let’s go to the garden. ''Luan guides me out.

The garden is fully decorated and has a table set with lots of food and a huge chocolate cake, which is my favorite.

''Wow, it really looks beautiful. '' I say, looking around.

''You deserve more. '' Lucas whispers in my ear. I feel my skin crawl at this.

Breathe, Enzo, it's all their fault because you are now very sensitive.

We go to the table and sit down. As always, I sit in between the two of them, since if I sit somewhere else, they both get upset.

Sometimes I feel like hitting them for their childishness.

''Today, you can drink beer now, brother. '' Klaus says, laughing.

''I will never drink beer again. '' I respond, making everyone laugh, except my dad, Elijah, as always.

''Good, I want to propose a toast. '' Their father says, getting up. ''A toast to Enzo, who turns eighteen and can grow even more. I know that in the future, he will continue to surprise us.

I'm going nowhere.

''I'm very happy to know that we are all family now, so congratulations, Enzo, may your dreams come true. ''Everyone raises their champagne glasses, and we drink.

We started talking about random topics.

''Enzo, I heard that you have a snake, is it true? '' My mother-in-law asks.

''Then let's wait for your yes, dear. '' Lucas said, putting his hand on my thigh.

This small act made my body heat up.

''Here, love. Try it. '' Luan puts chocolate in my mouth.

I start to chew.

'' Delicious. '' I run my tongue over my lips, and he doesn't take his eyes off my lips. ''Luan. '' I scolded him, giving him a dirty look, even though he only smiled.

We started eating foods that have all my favorite dishes, that's good.

''So Enzo. ''I face their mother. ''How will things be between you two?

I frown in confusion.

''You are going to stay here for another month, have you decided what you are going to do? Will you stay or return?

The twins stop eating immediately.

Thank you, mother-in-law, holy shit.

''I haven't decided that yet. '' She nods.

''Well, how about we say congratulations and then deliver the gifts? ''My mother says to cut the atmosphere between us.

'' Could it be? '' I say, giving a small smile.

We all approach the cake, and I face the cake. They start singing happy birthdays, and I sigh at that.

Who will I hand over the first piece of cake to? Holy crap.

I blow out the candles, and everyone claps. I take the knife, cut the cake, and place it on the plate.

''This piece of cake... It goes to my mother, she is the person I love most in this world, and nothing will change that. '' I say, and my mother comes to me with a big smile.

'' Thank you, darling. ''He kisses my forehead, and I hand him the cake.

The party continues to be lively as Mrs. Moretti, together with my mother, begins to cut the cake and distribute the slices among the guests. I watch from afar, my mind absorbed in thoughts, until I look away and find the twins. I approach with purposeful steps, my heart beating faster than normal.

''After the party is over, I want to talk to you in the room. '' My voice comes out steady, but there's an underlying tension.

They look at me, exchanging quick glances before agreeing with a simple nod.

'' All good. '' Luan responds, while Lucas just smiles, curious.

The night progresses, and after eating a lot, to the point that my belly almost exploded, we went to the living room. The atmosphere is relaxed, but anticipation hangs in the air.

''Good, this is my and my wife's gift. '' Christopher approaches and hands me a small box.
