♥Chapter 54♥
Lucas Morelli.
Still standing, I stare at the door. The reality that Enzo is gone seems to weigh on me like a thick, oppressive cloud. He walked away. He... Enzo left us. The pain is palpable, and the sense of loss is overwhelming.
''Son,'' my mother says, placing her hand gently on my shoulder, trying to offer some comfort.
''He's gone, mom,'' I reply, my voice filled with despair and helplessness. I can't face her. ''Enzo left.'' My words are muffled by the tears that start to slide down my cheeks.
''Darling,'' my mother insists, trying to get closer, but I move away from her. My gaze fixes on Luan, who remains still, unfazed, with an expression void of pain.
''Luan'' I say, approaching him and holding his face with my hands, looking for some connection in the midst of the pain.
''He's gone, Lucas,'' Luan murmurs, his voice shaking as he hugs me tightly, his shoulders shaking with his sobs. ''T-T-Everything is our fault for hiding it from him.
I squeeze Luan tightly, feeling the weight of our guilt and despair. My parents leave us alone, respecting our need for privacy at this painful time.
''L-Let's go to the bedroom'' I say weakly, forcing myself to maintain my composure despite the overwhelming sadness. The effort not to cry is almost unbearable.
We went upstairs in silence, unable to find words to express our agony. As we enter the room, memories of last night invade my mind like a relentless wave. The pain is so intense that I can no longer control myself, and I start to cry too.
We should have told him the truth. If we had done so, none of this would have happened. Guilt weighs heavily on our hearts, crushing and unremitting.
Luan hugs me tightly, and we cry together, as if despair could completely consume us. The crying is so intense that it feels like our hearts are going to stop beating.
''W-What are we going to do, Lucas? '' Luan asks, her voice cracking with anguish. ''I can't live without him, without our Enzo.
I let out a deep sigh, running my thumb over his red, swollen eyes.
''I don't know, Luan. I really don't know what to do.
Luan pulls me up, and we walk toward our bed, which still carries Enzo's scent, a constant reminder of his now-absent presence.
''He will never forgive us, Lucas,'' Luan says, her voice broken by tears. ''F-F-We were idiots for not telling him the truth.
I nod, feeling the weight of guilt crush my chest.
''Yes... We were both idiots.
Lying in bed, the silence is deep and oppressive. The tears continue to flow, and soon, extreme tiredness overcomes us, causing us to fall asleep, exhausted from crying.

I wake up to a noise next to me, and I see Luan holding her cell phone with a worried look.
'' What was it being? '' I ask, my heart beating fast in hopes that Enzo called.
''I called him and didn't get an answer,'' Luan responds, her voice filled with frustration and sadness.
''We both made serious mistakes with him, we left our Enzo so bad'' I say, staring at the ceiling as the tears flow again. ''We loved him so much, but we failed terribly.
Luan lies down next to me and hugs me, seeking comfort in our closeness.
''I don't want to give up, Lucas,'' he says, his voice shaking with determination.
''Neither do I want to give up, but we can't just go to Russia,'' I reply, my mind trying to process the idea.
''Yes, we can go. Lucas, I don't mind dying if it's to see our Enzo for the last time. So be it'' Luan says with anguished determination.
I sit on the bed, my heart heavy with the decision.
''Let's pack our bags'' I say finally. Luan gives a small smile—a reflection of hope amidst the pain.
We get off the bed and go to the closet, grabbing two suitcases. We started organizing our things, putting out clothes, money, and personal items. Even though it's six o'clock at night, we are determined to go in search of Enzo.
Our parents, upon seeing us, immediately got up from the couch, concern written all over their faces.
''Where are you guys going? '' asks our mother, her voice full of anxiety.
''We're going after Enzo,'' we responded together, the determination in our words contrasting with the concern in his eyes.
''Are you guys crazy? '' she says, surprised and worried. ''You could end up putting yourselves in danger, and I'm not prepared to lose my children.
We sigh, trying to find words that convey the depth of our feelings.
''Mom, Enzo is our love. Without him in our lives, we are nothing,'' says Luan, her voice full of sincerity.
''Mom, we love him very much, and we want to try to make him forgive us. We will go with or without your permission'' I add, my voice firm despite the pain.
She sighs deeply, her eyes showing the internal battle between fear and love for us.
