Telling Brightstone off

"Are you trying to dodge me on purpose? If yes, I'd like to say you are doing a bad job while at it."
Janice lurched and almost fell off the Mare she was on as she heard his voice. "Bloody hell, Paxton!"
She glowered at him and clutched her still thumping heart.
"Hearing my name coming out from your cupid shaped lips is the sexiest thing I've ever heard."
Janice rolled her eyes as she stared at him. She knew if she hadn't been startled by him, she wouldn't mention his name.
She won't know why she was irritated by him. It was not like he didn't look good.
Heck, all the ladies would like to have him. Except her since his presence often annoys her.
Perhaps, she didn't like how he was constantly flirting with her. And she didn't know how to tell him off yet.
"You look radiant each time I stare at you. Blue looks good on you."
"You saw me earlier," Janice said. She tugged the rein of her mare, galloping away from him.
She heard him do the same and the brown stallion he was on trotted to her side.
"Where are you going, My lady? I thought all the women that came for the ball should be indoors and preparing themselves for tonight's party."
If only he knew she was not any woman he was pinning on, Janice mused.
"I came out for a walk again. I enjoy the afternoon sun better."
"But you look pale rather than tan." Said Brightstone whilst assessing her.
Janice shrugged. It wasn't the first time people had told her she was pale despite being in the sun all day.
She lifted her face towards the sky and exhaled as a gust of wind, caressed it.
"Shouldn't you be with the men, going hunting?" Janice mumbled.
She remembered Jules telling her he was going to hunt after she told him she was going for a second walk.
Jules had said it was all the men that often partook in the activities and they use it to show off their hunting skills.
Seeing Brightstone with her right now makes her wonder why he hadn't gone with them.
"I was going until I saw an Angel, which was you ascending on her fair mare."
"Then you decided to follow me here rather than going to showcase your skills?"
"I'd say following you to this beautiful..." Patton paused whilst staring at the spot they were in.
He hadn't been here before since he had been friends with Jules. Or maybe he wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings.
The only place he had been to with him was the infamous landscape and he enjoyed going there.
But this place gave him different vibes because he was with a woman he fancied.
Even though he had made his intentions known, she had not said anything about it or maybe she was pretending to not know what he was talking about.
"It's worth it." He finished, climbing down from his horse to help her down.
"I haven't seen anything like here before." He mumbled as he walked deeper into where he believed to be another world due to how serene it was. The grasses were well trimmed and the scent of different flowers that were present infiltrated the air.
He could hear the sound of the waterfall that seemed to be nearby and the beautiful songs of the birds that flew from tree to tree.
He glanced at Janice as she walked slowly towards a spot filled with daisy flowers with a smile on her face.
"Do you like daisies?"
"Of course. Who doesn't?" She grinned, plucking one and tucking it in her hair.
"I can give you a dozen daisies each morning and before going to bed at night! I can..."
"Please stop." Janice giggled, stopping what he was about to say.
She had thought he was going to stop trying to flirt with her because she never answers his advance.
But it was worse and she wondered if she told him off would have prevented him from flirting with her or going about with her.
"Why, my fairest lady?" Brightstone extended a thick brow whilst staring into her beautiful ocean blue eyes.
He was mesmerized by them. He hadn't stared into her eyes before and looking at it now seemed like it was pulling him in.
"I can't be yours. I'm someone else's." Janice simply said, walking away from him.
Brightstone jogged to her side and gripped her shoulder. "Perhaps, giving me a chance would suffice."
"I-I..."
"She can't and wouldn't even dare."
Stunned, Janice swirled as she heard Jules' cold voice.
Dillion neighed and the expression on his face matched that of his master.
Jules jumped down from the stallion, tied the rein around a tree trunk and walked towards where Janice stood.
He tugged her into him and glared at Brightstone who stared at both in confusion.
"Have you met her before?"
"I-I..." Janice stuttered. She didn't know what to say and how to say Jules was her husband.
She wondered what he would think of her.
"She's my wife," Jules stated. He clutched her hand gently and led her towards her mare without saying a word to her.
He helped her on and ordered her to go to the castle instantly.
"See you at the party, Brightstone," Jules grunted, climbing on his horse.
Brightstone stared at Jules who had referred to him with his title rather than his first name. Though he didn't mind Jules calling him that because everyone knew him as Brightstone and he was used to them calling him that way as well.
He stared back at the horse that Janice was on as it galloped towards the castle.
He shook his head as the word 'wife' Jules had said kept on ringing in his head.
He was hitting on the Queen of Cherivew!
No wonder she had a smile and dismissed him.
Perhaps, she thought he was crazy for doing so. But even with her being the Queen, he still felt what he felt for her the first time he had seen her.
Despite the fact she was off-limit, he wasn't giving up on her yet until she said she wasn't interested.
Brightstone knew the path he was approaching might lead to his downfall since Jules was involved. Yet, he didn't care.
He felt something for her and he was going to have her by all means, he vowed.
