The date
"This tastes so good." Janice hummed as she dipped another steamed lobster into the cocktail sauce.
She moaned as she took a bite from it. "I feel like I'm in heaven."
"Are you enjoying this as much as I am?" She opened her eyes whilst staring at Jules.
She noticed he was yet to touch his food and wondered what he had been doing. "Are you not hungry?"
"I am."
"But, your food is untouched." She mumbled, eyeing the food before him.
"I'm hungry," Jules stated. "But not for the food. Rather, for what is underneath your dress, madame."
Janice reddened as his leg came in contact with her underneath the tulle covered table.
"Sire, we are in public and someone might hear you say those nasty things."
"I don't care and besides, we are married. So, I'm allowed to say whatever I wish to my wife."
Janice could feel her body simmered under his scrutiny and she averted her eyes as he continued staring at her.
She didn't know she still looked good in his eyes. Despite how large she was becoming, he still wanted her.
It made her love him more. She wondered if she was foolish to fall head over heels for a man that wanted only the baby in her womb.
The man wanted only her body and nothing else.
She sighed, placing the lobster with her back on the ceramic plate.
"Then, would all these be a waste?"
"Of course, not." Jules asserted. "I'll eat them. But, I enjoy watching you eat. You make everything look sensual. Even the silliest thing."
Janice faced reddened once more. He had often told her this over again and she wondered why it was still affecting her.
"I didn't know that, Sire." She mumbled.
She cast a glance around the small, yet luxurious diner. She had thought it would be as bland as it was outdoors. But, as soon as she stepped into it, she was fascinated by the serene atmosphere and the warmth it exuded indoors.
Even the meal that was served was excellent as well.
"I'm sure you know what you are doing to me." Jules rasped.
Janice's eyes flitted back to his as he clutched her hand.
He stroked it for a while before lifting it to his lips and placed a kiss on it.
She shivered as his lips caressed her hand for a few seconds. She felt a jolt of electricity at his touch.
"You are beautiful, madame."
"Thank you, Sire." She replied, shyly.
She tucked a strand of hair that had fallen from the pin she used in fastening her hair, beneath her ear. Then, she lifted her eyes to Jules who had a smirk on his face.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" She asked as he continued to smirk.
"No." He shook his head, smiling. "I just like watching you. You should finish your meal."
"Not until you begin eating yours." Janice retorted, creasing her brows.
She saw him tapped his chin, whilst glancing at the food on his table, before staring back at her.
"I believe you don't need to think about eating. You ordered the food and it wouldn't be pleasant if you wasted it because a lot of people are looking..."
"For this kind of privilege." Jules finished.
Janice blushed, nodding her head. She had always told him that times without number. She wondered why he would ask a server to bring order to his presence whereas he wasn't going to eat them.
"I know that, Madame. I don't intend to waste the food."
He grabbed a piece of toast and slipped it into his mouth. He smiled as he watched her relax before continuing her meal.
★★★
"I believe I've eaten more than I should." Janice groaned whilst stretching her legs underneath the table.
"It's your fault sire. You keep placing more food on my plate."
"You should eat to add up. I don't want my baby looking malnourished." Jules replied.
"He or she won't. Do I look as if I am?"
Janice glowered as he contemplated.
She thought of why he couldn't say his answer right away instead of thinking.
"Well, you don't look malnourished."
"But," Jules continued. "You aren't the right weight yet, I believe."
"You ain't a doctor," Janice muttered, rolling her eyes.
"I met with Theodore Alfredo and he said, you need to eat more, rest more and engage in less activity."
Janice lifted her eyebrow. "You met with him without informing me?"
"It's no longer a secret now."
"It was. Besides, why didn't he say all this to me?"
"Because I told him not to," Jules said.
"Why?"
"It wouldn't make a difference if he had told you. You won't still eat or do whatever he has advised."
"Anyways, I believe it is annoying and an invasion of privacy, Sire." Janice scowled.
"Anything that concerns my son isn't an invasion of privacy."
"It could be a girl child."
"We aren't arguing about the gender of our baby here."
Janice's heart warmed as he mentioned 'ours'. He had always said, 'my' which often annoys her.
Hearing him acknowledge she was part of the baby's life made her feel like they were going to be a real family for some seconds and not like she was a woman who just happened to be a surrogate.
Jules helped her out of the chair she was in. He walked towards the huge dinner door after paying and tipping the cashier.
He clutched the door open for her and wrapped his other arm around her whilst she waddled outside.
"Thank you for tonight, Sire." She mumbled as soon as he slipped into the car.
"We could go for another date?"
"That will be awesome." Janice grinned. She leaned into him and placed a kiss on his lips. Then, rested her head on his shoulder, dozing off almost immediately.
A huge grin spread out on Jules's face. He didn't know what had gotten over her to make the move she did. But, he was happy she was becoming bold in his presence. Although he still liked how shy she was.
He heard her sigh as he wrapped his hand around her.
Also, she mumbled but he couldn't decipher what she had said. He shrugged and caressed her hair before shutting his eyes.
