Jules is keeping secret

"Okay, how about you spill the tea? I mean we are going in circles here and I have zero patience for that."
"Are you willing to tell me or not? I feel you are stalling on purpose."
"Of course, I do want to tell you," Janice affirmed with the roll of her eyes. She breathed out, and in a while she thought of where she was going to start from.
"You can start from the end if you wish." Margie urged. "I just need to know what is going on between you two. This marriage is looking like a joke to me now."
"Maybe it is," Janice mumbled. She had thought of it several times and that was what she could come up with. She was a joke to Jules and his wiles.
He was using her as he deemed fit and he even had the gut to pretend as if he cared for her whereas he didn't and had never.
It had always been the baby from the beginning and it forever would be.
Janice thought of pulling the same stunt she had pulled the last time, but she believed she'd be putting herself in more trouble.
Her child would come around anytime soon and she didn't want to be in agony in a place far away from home. Also, she'd be wishing for death if she decided to run away now.
Jules would definitely make it slow and painful as he had promised.
Besides, it was almost a scandal when she ran away on the eve of her wedding. It was a good thing the dowager Queen, Jeremy and Margie had covered for her.
She wondered what would have been the headline if they hadn't.
"Earth of Janice." Margie snapped in her face and Janice jerked.
"Shit!"
"Language Queenie." Margie scolded.
"Ugh, stop giving me that look," Janice mumbled. "You would give me a nightmare whenever I shut my eyes now because it is the exact unpleasant look I see on Jule's mother's face each day."
"I don't look as frightening as her," Margie argued.
"Of course, you do," Janice said.
"I don't!"
"You sure do."
The argument went on for about another minute and Margie was the first to stop. She glared at Janice.
"Is this a way to stop me from asking what is going on between you and Jules?"
Janice shook her head, "I'm just looking for the appropriate thing to say."
"If you don't wish to talk now, you can say it anytime. It's not as if I am going anywhere anytime soon." Margie pointed out.
Despite how hard she had tried to appeal to the Queen to let her do some work, she had declined and had made her swear that if she stepped out of the palace, it would be the end of her marriage with Jeremy.
"That witch!" Margie mumbled. She was aware she had no choice. There was nowhere she had to go and she couldn't leave her husband even though her job was as important as he was to her.
The thoughts of the young ladies catching his attention were what made her change her mind. It wasn't like staying for a few years to take care of her unborn child would make her less of a celebrity.
Aside from her job making her quite famous, her marriage to Jeremy added to it.
"She is your mother-in-law and you have to deal with it," Janice mumbled. She had thought of the woman several times in that manner but there was nothing she could do. It was not like she could snap her fingers to make her disappear.
"So, will you tell me?"
"Definitely. You see, I feel Jules is keeping some secret from me and he's been acting strange. Though before he travelled, he was with me and I feel like he wasn't because of how distant we had become."
"Is that it?" Margie tilted her head. "You should be aware you are married to a Forrest. Don't expect too much from them and they act in that aloof manner all the time. That is the trait blessed to them from their mother dearest."
"No, this is different. He's been acting secretive and whenever I demand an answer, he'd brush it off and change the subject skillfully."
"I'd say you should not assume such things yet. You could ask him for an explanation, I mean he's your husband and he'll surely let you know if something is wrong. But since he didn't say anything, just assume it is one of his usual ways of acting."
Janice sighed, "I know when someone is trying to keep a secret from me. Even though I don't know too much about human behaviour, I can tell. But, I won't jump to any conclusion like you said. I'd try to ask him even though I know he would ignore me over and over again."
"Don't be so sure he'd ignore you," Margie said. "Now, put a smile on the lovely face of yours. You are beginning to remind me of Cruella."
Janice beamed as Margie pinched her cheeks. "Stop stretching my face, you are going to widen my mouth!"
"The wider the better. At least, you'd be able to take all of him in." Margie winked.
Aghast, Janice's eyes widened and a blush tinged her cheeks. "Don't tell me you do that to Jeremy?!"
"He liked it and it's one of the kinks we've been exploring lately. It makes the bedroom a lot spicier."
Janice glowered as Margie went into detail about what she often did with Jeremy.
"Oh, gods! What you just said is forever imprinted in my mind! How can I erase it?"
"I would tell you not to try to forget. You might need it to bring your husband down to his knee."
"Pulling him off wouldn't bring him down and the thought of doing that already disgusts me," Janice said, appalled.
"I would not say that if I were you and you might want to try it before saying it does. I have said something like that before but when I tried it on Jeremy, even though it was awkward at first, I enjoyed it as time went on."
"Are we here to talk about your bedroom matter or for a girl discussion?"
"It is still part of it." Margie shrugged. "Anyway, if you need to know more about what you could do in the bedroom..."
"I know quite a handful already and I don't want to add to it." Janice interrupted. She was aware that if she let Margie continue whatever she wanted, she wouldn't stop until she goes into extreme details of how to pleasure a man and all the things that could be done.
"Are you sure about that?"
"I am. I don't need to know about that, my utmost concern now is Jules."
"Everything might just be your imagination. Wait for him to arrive, then talk to him about it and who knows you might be rolling in bed soon after."
Janice doubted it because it had been a while Jules laid with her.
She wondered if what he had said about her looking attractive to him each day was a lie.
"Why don't we play some cards while having tea to make this afternoon worthwhile?"
Scarlett nodded and Margie leapt to her feet, "Be right back."
As soon as she left the room, Janice sighed. She caressed her swollen tummy and felt the baby kick. A wide smile spread on her face as she felt it move more.
"I don't know what is going on with your father, but I am sure he loves you," Scarlett mumbled.
He does love the baby but not her. A painful reminder that she would always be a second choice to him.
