The game

"How about we play a game?"
Janice shook her head whilst glimpsing at the mischievous smirk that was placing on Jules' lip.
It was a lazy afternoon for them and she was glad to be indoors with Jules and away from the guests that were roaming about the castle.
By Guests, she meant Brightstone who never stopped making suggestive winks at her and the Princess of Cones who went on flirting with Jules despite her presence.
"Why Madame, are you frightened I'm going to win?"
"I'm not scared you'll win. Rather, I'm afraid of how you'll make everything go in your favour." Janice answered with an eye roll.
Jules shrugged, "I've always won fairly."
"I doubt that you often win fairly. Because all I see is you cheating."
"Me, a cheat?" Jules gasped. He placed his hand on his chest feigning hurt. Then, he glared at Janice who rolled her eyes at him.
"Prove to me you are not a cheater."
"Of course, I'll do that," Jules said.
He grabbed the scrabble board that was beside him, placed it on the small coffee table that was in front of him, before pushing it towards Janice.
"I didn't say we could play Scrabbles." Janice shoved the chair away from her. "Isn't there another game you wouldn't cheat in?"
"Chess, draughts and Scrabbles are out of it." She listed.
"How about you and I naked on the bed? That's the only game I know we wouldn't cheat."
Janice shook her head, blushing. She knew he was going to suggest being in bed with him.
She hadn't gotten over what happened last night. She wanted more. Sometimes, it was as if she had the appetite for s*x alone because after engaging in such activities, she would feel relaxed and less hungry.
She believed it was part of the cravings that had begun surfacing and she didn't know how to curb it.
"I like the way you seem shy around me. It's a turn-on."
Janice's eyes flitted to Jules who was now next to her.
"You make me so hard for you all the time and I think you've charmed me." Jules groaned, shaking his head.
He glanced at Janice who stared at him back. If he didn't know better, he would believe she was an innocent woman who knew nothing. Whereas she was a seductress and he wondered if she did it on purpose to catch his attention.
"I didn't know you feel that way, Sire." Janice licked her lips. She stared down at her fingers, then bit her bottom lips before looking back at him.
"Stop looking at me that way, Madame. I don't want to lose control." Jules shut his eyes.
He gripped the scrabble board she had shoved away and placed it back on the chair in front of her.
"Come on, let me prove my innocence to you. I'm not the cheater you think I am."
"Game on, Sire." Janice beamed.
The game went on for hours. Although Janice wasn't an expert when it comes to board games, she knew the meaning of most words and she was also careful not to let Jules trick her.
"That is a wrong spelling, my Lord." Janice glowered.
"Really? I thought I saw 'scod' while leafing through the dictionary yesterday."
"I believe that is a blatant lie. It is 'Scold' and not 'Scod'. I haven't come across such a  word."
"Then, you call me a liar?"
"Rather, I'm calling you a cheat."
"That's outrageous!"
Janice flinched whilst staring at Jules. He furrowed his brows, and his eyes glinted. He seemed offended and she would have believed it was genuine if she didn't know him.
"My dearest husband, I'm not a pawn. So, I know what the hell you are doing."
"How about we look up the word?"
"Of course!" Janice replied.
Jules was aware he wouldn't see any word like the one he had spelt. He didn't just want to accept defeat.
"I guess I made a mistake." He admitted after a while.
"You see!" Janice gloated. "I won!"
"That didn't make me a cheat," Jules mumbled.
"Whatever." Janice jumped to her feet and began to wriggle her waist to an imaginary song in her head.
Jules reclined on the sofa at his back as he watched his wife. He had purposely held back and let her win. He wanted to see her reaction.
Now, he was glad he had done so because the joy present on her face was enough to make him smile.
"Now, what do you want me to do to you as a winner?"
Janice halted, a stunned expression appeared on her face. "There is a gift attached to it?"
"Of course!" He affirmed. "Those times I won, my gift from you was you screaming out my name."
"Jerk." Janice smacked his hair as he smirked. "I'm glad you didn't win then. I'm sure your victory ends today and mine begins as well."
She stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry at him.
Jules chuckled as he watched her. He liked how childish was with him. Instead of the sophisticated appearance, she often wore it when they were outside.
"Just tell me whatever you want and it shall be done."
"I don't want much. For now, I want to visit the diner that just opened in town!"
"That's all?"
"Of course. You are going to spend a fortune there. So, be ready."
"You can buy the whole diner. I wouldn't mind." Jules said.
Janice smiled and nodded her head. Then, she turned serious again.
"I need a change of clothing. So, it would be best if you can excuse me."
"I'm your husband. Why should I leave the room because you want to change your outfit? It's not like I haven't seen what you are trying to hide from me."
"I know you've seen me." Janice scowled. "However, I need to prepare myself for the outing which I believe is a date."
"It doesn't matter."
"It does," Janice mumbled.
She stood and walked to the door as she heard a knock.
Grace stepped in and curtsied. "Your food is ready, My lady."
"No need for that. Prepare me for a date instead."
"Very my, My Lady." Grace straightened and walked towards her closet.
Jules walked to the door, placed a kiss on Janice' lips and walked out of the room, leaving her with her maid.
