Casual talk(2)

Grace entered a while later after Jules left.
She placed a huge tray filled with food on a small table at the side of the nightstand and hoist it on the bed in-between the two women.
She straightened whilst waiting for an order from them.
"That is all, Grace," Janice said with a smile.
She nodded with a smile as well and left the room.
"This is a feast!" Margie exclaimed, eyeing the tray. "Can you finish this?"
"Of course," Janice said. "I have a human living inside me. Practically, I am feeding for two. But, I can share if you want."
She grinned whilst eyeing the incredulous look on Margie's face.
"I don't think I can eat all this when I get to your stage." She swept her eyes over the food, before glancing at Janice.
"If Jeremy is anything like Jules, I know you would eat far more than this," Janice replied. "Jules always wants to stuff me with any chance he gets."
"I hope Jeremy won't be that way because I am going to kill him."
Janice giggled at the threat that poured out of her mouth. Then went on with eating until she couldn't anymore.

"This is the most beautiful place I've ever been." Margie stood awestruck in the middle of the garden.
Janice grinned, nodding her head. "I know right. That was how I felt the first time I came here."
"There is even something better than this." She added, gripping Margie's hand.
Janice tugged her to where the waterfall was. It was even more beautiful today.
Perhaps because of how the weather was clear and the sun was striking the water. Or maybe because of the recent news about the incoming baby that made everything around her seem beautiful.
Whichever it was, Janice liked the feelings.
Her inside felt warm as she stood beside Margie admiring nature, how it was.
"Wow! This is so calming." Margie murmured. She inhaled and let it out slowly, before snatching the blanket in the picnic basket with Janice to spread it on the grass.
Janice halted her before she could do so, then shook her head whilst eyeing the waterfall. "I know I love nature and all, but I am not ready to be washed away alongside my unborn child. So, I am not sitting beside that."
"That is right," Margie affirmed. "It seemed peaceful but quite dangerous." She moved away from the waterfall a bit. But she could still hear the sound of it.
"Also, I am not ready to be one of Jules enemies." She added, grimacing whilst thinking of the several ways of how Jules would like to deal with her if anything happened to Janice.
Janice giggled as Margie twisted her lips.
"He wouldn't believe it was a mistake. He would say I pushed you off the cliff on purpose."
"That is unlikely. I mean you are my best friend."
"Of course, I can't do that! I am just saying that would be the version of Jules statement and a reason for him to hate me for life."
Janice shrugged. She set the red ceramic plate on the blanket before bringing out the food they had carried along.
"Enough about Jules. We are here to enjoy nature and we should do so before Jules or your husband decide to send a rescue party."
"Or maybe they will come themselves like they had done the last time." Margie rolled her eyes. "They never know what it means to be alone."
"Jeremy is probably scared a new gentleman will catch your attention." Janice giggled.
"That means a new way to look for whom to duel with. The duel he had been wanting to do ever since we got married. He told me he was ready to slay anyone for my sake."
"I know he didn't mean that," Janice said. She was aware of how Jeremy joke at times. Also, he didn't strike her as the violent type.
But, if it was Jules, she knew he would go through with any threat he makes. Just like how he had travelled to beat up her ex.
Although fighting with the douchebag hadn't been his main aim. She believed her ex had made a comment that made Jules punch him which she was grateful for.
She knew if it had been other men, they might have not taken an offence. Heck, they would have said she got what she deserved for being with a moronic ex.
"I am not bothered if he meant it or not. It's just that I am not interested in anyone and it will be a huge disappointment to him." Margie said.
It wasn't only Jeremy that would be hugely disappointed. She knew Jules would be too.
Even though he had acted like he was around her because of the baby all the time, she was aware it was more than that.
She had often caught him glaring at men that had stared at her for too long. He had often complained that she enjoyed drawing attention to herself even when she knew she wasn't.
"Well, it's a good thing we are strong women. At least better than the naive ones the mother had initially arranged for them. We can surely keep them in check." Margie said.
"They are softies and a big bear who acts as if they don't care. But, deep down, they do and would not let anything happen to us."
Janice affirmed. It was the truth, maybe for Jeremy.
She had seen how he looked at his wife and had to want Jules to do the same to her.
To be there at her beck and call.
Jeremy was a softie and a very lovable man that wouldn't like to see anyone he loved in pain.
Jules wouldn't want that too. Except that he wasn't directing his softness towards her.
