Chapter 23: Did Kyle stood me up?

***Nala's P.O.V

"He's not coming," I got up as I exited the living room. "He was only playing with me just to stood me up," I said angrily to Blair. Before I could leave the living room, Blair stopped me.

"Sometimes men tend to run late," Blair told me, encouraging me to wait a few more minutes.

8 '0' clock pass moving on to almost 9 pm. I felt so disappointed realizing that he was never going to come.

"You can leave, it's a waste of time waiting on him knowing that he's never going to come," I told Blair. Blair agrees as well. I was so angry that the bitch stood me up. I detested that he was playing me for a fool.

"Anton would never stood me up like him," I complained to Blair. I was so angry Kyle did this to me. I wasn't looking forwards to this date with him at first but with all the energy I put into it, I didn't expect to be disappointed like this.

"It sounds like you want your mate back," Blair said to me. I look at her angrily. She smirked. I rolled my eyes heading upstairs.

"Come babe, you're staying at my place tonight," Blair called her boyfriend. I watched them as they left to open the door and there, I froze including Blair. Kyle was at the door. I hated to say he was handsomely dressed in a black suit which looked very expensive. His blonde hair was neatly combed, and his black shoe was so clean that it shone.

"Good night, sorry I'm late," he said as he apologized.

Blair and her boyfriend greeted him, but I just stood there staring at him. I was still angry with him.

"Nala," Blair called me wanting me to go to him.

I slowly began to walk to him while Blair gave me the way and step away from us giving us some space. As I went over to him, his hazel eyes stared at me hard.

"You look so beautiful," he said softly to me with his sweet voice.

I nodded.

"My father had a meeting with some other alphas, and I had to be there as well since I am the future alpha of this land," Kyle explained to me.

"It's okay," I answered him no longer being angry with him anymore.

"Let us go," he told me, as he reached for my hand. He brought my hand to his lips and gently kissed it. My entire body shivered by his soft kiss, and I blushed. He then gently lowered my hand and soon we were on our way. Blair closed the door behind us, and we all walked within the dark having only the moonlight to guide us. Kyle held me close to him. I was very nervous at his side that I was afraid I'd slip and fall.

"Where are we going?" I inquired him.

"To LaBelle' restaurant," he answered me.

I’ve passed by that expensive place before. It wasn't far. I was happy we'll soon reach it; my feet were shaking so much being so close to him. He was still holding my hand and I was even more worried about what if my hand was sweating, and it turned him off. We all were under a bright streetlight ready to cross the road to go to the restaurant. I was quite surprised that Kyle barely said anything to me along the way. Blair and her boyfriend were enjoying their time behind us laughing and chatting but with him, he was not a talker at all, he just made sure I was close to him. I started to think about if that's how our night at the restaurant will be, quiet and him just staring at me. If it's so I’ll surely spill my drink and hit over my food nervous by his presence.

I turned my head opposite of Kyle pushing a strand of my hair from my face, not paying attention ahead of me while we cross the road. Kyle stopped and I too did the same.

"I hope you have a great time at the house my father prepared for you," Kyle stood talking to someone.

"Yes," I heard a very powerful familiar voice.

Immediately, my head turned to the person and there I saw who it was, Alpha Anton.
