Chapter 30: Saying Goodbyes

**Nala's P.O.V

"That would be good," Dr. Annie told me.

I nodded.

"So can I leave now?" I inquired her.

"After work," she answered me.

I again nodded and started on my job. As I did, I could not wait to be through so I could leave Roxburghe to Burnesfield to take care of Dr. Charles. I owe him and I had to repay him for everything he did for me and my mom.

Finally, work was over for the day. Dr. Annie didn't leave as she usually did, she stayed back with me and Blair and helped us clean up. Dr. Annie planned to return home with me and help me pack.

"Let's leave now Blair and Nala," Dr. Annie told us seeing the place was all clean and tidy; everything was rightfully in its place.

We both followed behind her, exiting the building. As she closed the door, I informed Blair that I was leaving Roxburghe and the reason why I had to. She was saddened that I won't be working with her for some days, but I assure her that as soon as Dr. Charles feels better, I would come straight home. I hated Burnesfield and the only reason why I was ever returning was for the sake of Dr. Charles. Alpha Anton being the ruler of the land pains me. I just hope he doesn't know I will be there and too that I ever did return to his land.

"Shit," I curse as Dr. Annie, and we started on our way home.

"What is wrong did you leave something inside?" Blair inquired me.

Annie turned to look at me curiously.

"I have a date with Kyle after work today," I said. "Now how I'm I going to tell him that I won't be able to go with him?" I said sadly. After the disaster of our first date, I didn't want to disappoint him now.

"You can tell him now," Dr. Annie said to me.

"How can I when I'm leaving now before he comes to my work," I said sadly.

"There is the hotness coming," Blair said with a bright smile, holding her head straight along the road.

I held my head straight along the road and there I saw Kyle, slowly approaching us. He was so damn sexy at the way he was coming toward us that I couldn't help staring hard at him. I felt my breathing slow down and my mouth slowly opened lost into him. He was dressed neatly as always. He was in a white t-shirt that shone brightly in the sun and a pair of tight jeans pant. Gosh, he was freaking hot that I was very sad that I won't be going out with him now.

"Catch up with us when you're through talking to the future alpha," Dr. Annie told me.

I nodded and waved at her and Blair as they went off leaving me. I felt a little relieved that they were gone so I could speak to my handsome man privately.

I watched them as they called to Kyle passing him. As Kyle got closer to me my heart began to beat quickly like I was going to pass out by his handsome presence. He smiled as he now stands before me. I smiled shyly back at him. His lip wasn't so swollen anymore it was getting back to the sweet sexy lip he has.

"You look good," I had to compliment him, for he indeed was.

"Thanks, babe," he said as he reached for my right hand and pulled me close to him. I landed against him. My body felt it was going to melt from the touch of his sexy, muscular body.

"So, are you ready for our special date?" Kyle inquired me.

My hand slowly pulled away from his and I step back from him as I lowered my head sadly.

"What is wrong?" Kyle inquired as he touched me by my chin raising my head to his. My bottom lip shivered by his warm, hard hand against my small chin.

"I have to leave Roxburghe now," I told him hating that I was disappointing him.

He must think I was the worse she-wolf he'd gone out with, I thought within my mind.

"To where?" Kyle inquired me.

"Burnesfield."

His hand slowly moved from my chin disappointedly and he made one step away from me.

Sadness filled my eyes hating the reaction I was getting from him.

"Is it because of him?" Kyle inquired me with great sadness within his voice.

My heart ached by what he had said.

"No, of course, not," I answered him immediately as I got close to him. "I'll never do such a thing to you, Kyle."

Before Kyle could inquiry me why I was leaving I told him the true reason why I had to leave now.

He nodded understanding, but on his face, I could see he hated the thought that I will be in the same land as my ex who just can't understand that I don't want him back. I went over to him and hugged him taking in the wonderful scent from his body and the warmth of his strong body. He returned my hug holding me tight. I closed my eyes enjoying his touch.

"I'll be waiting for your return," Kyle told me.

"It won't be long," I answer him.

"Promise me something?" Kyle told me, still holding me in his arms.

I raised my head and stared into his eyes. He did the same. It was a beautiful moment that I wish his lip wasn't injured so I could kiss him.

"What do you want me to promise you?" I inquire him softly.

"Don't let him steal your heart away from me," Kyle told me sadly.

I was so touched at what he said that my head returned to his chest, and I hold him tighter.

"You don't have to worry about that," I assured him.

"I want you to promise me," Kyle said.

"I promise," I raise my head back to his beautiful face. Kyle couldn't kiss me but instead, he brought his face to me and gently rubbed his nose against my nose. I smiled and my eyes shut enjoying it. It was quite satisfying and cute what he was doing.

"I have to leave now," I told him.

He nodded and he followed me home. On our way, he held my hand. She-wolves passing us along the road stared at me. I held my head high feeling proud.

"Do you want me to accompany you to Burnesfield?" Kyle inquired me.

"No, I'll be fine," I told him.

He nodded being fine with it.

I arrived home, Kyle hugged me, and we said our goodbyes. When I went to my room my suitcase was already packed and Blair was there as well wanting to see me off. I had everything with me and soon it was time for me to leave.

"I discovered that a friend of mine is leaving to Burnesfield now, you can travel with him there," Dr. Annie told me.

I nodded, very thankful for her help.

"He'll be here in any moment."

I hugged her and Blair saying my goodbyes and pulled my suitcase exiting the house to wait on her friend. An elderly man I saw coming to the house with an old truck. I got into the truck, leaving Roxburghe. It is going to be a long journey, but it was worth it for Dr. Charles.
