Chapter 12
**Cole**
As soon as we cross into the territory shit hits the fan. Several warriors run over to us. A younger one speaks. “Hey Alpha, why do you have a rogue with you? Also why are you carrying her shit? Goddess all mighty she stinks.”
I grab him by his throat and growl “Don’t be an asshole! She is to be treated with utmost respect. Do I make myself clear?” I drop him to the ground. I just knew it would not go smoothly, but it didn’t hurt to hope right. Why on earth did he have to open his mouth?
The other warriors are now staring at us. I need to keep my calm. My little mate does not need to see me lose my shit. I just need to breath. This is Winters's new home, and I will not have her disrespected.
As we continue up to the pack house her eyes widen. “You live here? It’s a freakin mansion.”
“No Hun we live here.” She’s beaming with joy. It is written all over her face. I lead her into the pack house.
Goddess she is beautiful, with her wild hair. Her spear and bow in hand. I of course, have her pack and gear. Her smile shows it all. She is happy, and that makes me happy. I am more than happy to share this place with her. We enter the pack house, and her eyes start darting around. No doubt to take everything in.
My sister runs down the stairs, and the first thing out of her mouth are “Cole is that you, and what is that smell? Is that a rouge in our house? Did you capture one, and decided to bring it home for some sort of punishment?”
“Shut up Gale! Call Marcus, and tell him to meet me in my office. And mind your own dam business.” I lead Winter up to my office.
Once we’re inside I set Winters's stuff down. I take her spear and bow and lean them up against the wall. I bend down and give her a soft kiss. As I pull away, I say “You can sit down. We are just waiting on Marcus. I’m a bit curious, what pack where you from prior to becoming a rogue? You never told me.”
“It was the Moon Stone Pack.” She replies. I can see her eyes start to tear up. I know this is a rough subject, but I had no idea that simply saying the name of her previous pack would upset her. I shouldn’t have asked.
I can see she is pushing back her tears. Goddesses help me, she looks like she needs a hug. I can tell she hates talking about that time. How could she? If I found my whole family and pack dead; I would be devastated. As she rubs at her face to clear away the water in her eyes, Marcus pops his head in.
“You need me Boss?”
“Yea, there is someone I want you to meet.”
**Winter**
As we cross into Red Dawn territory, I know it will not be a very pleasant experience. One of the pack warriors approaches us. He is rude, just as expected. Cole puts him in his place though. He stands up for me. After all this time being on my own, it is so nice to have someone stick up for me. It has been so long since I’ve had anyone who has been there for me in any way.
Oh, my Goddess, As I see the pack house for the first time, I can’t believe how big it is. It looks like a mansion, or maybe a castle. It’s huge! My old pack house was definitely not this big. I wonder how many werewolves this pack has. As we walked in the entrance is so huge, it’s intimidating.
I let my eyes wonder around the room and take it all in. This place has so much grandeur. At the same time, it does have a homey feel. I can't believe this is where I’m going to live. The Goddess has truly blessed me. Then I hear another voice speaking hurtful words.
It is like getting kicked in the chest. What Gale says is brutal, but I won’t give anyone the satisfaction of seeing that their words have hurt me. I wonder who she is in the pack; probably someone important. Back at Moon Stone only my family and the Beta’s family lived in the pack house. I wonder who all lives here, and if it’s different than my old home.
Cole takes me up to his office. It is on the second floor. It is nice and clean. He puts my stuff down, and gives me a quick tender kiss. Just a small kiss from him is enough to give me goosebumps. Then he asks me for my old pack’s name.
I knew I would have to tell him eventually, but saying the name, Moon Stone Pack, out loud is painful. Despite the pain, it’s also kind of cathartic to finally say the name of my home. I have so many good memories. I need to hold on to those good memories instead of the horrors.
Now that I have told him our name, I begin to wonder if he has ever heard of us. I will have to ask him about that later. When I can bring it up without getting tears in my eyes. Goddess knows I miss my pack. I miss them every day, especially my father. He was my knight in shining armor. He is the reason I was able to survive as a rouge.
As I am getting lost in thought a man comes in, and Cole introduces him. “This is Marcus my Beta. Marcus this is Winter my mate.” He comes right up to me, and gives me a big hug. It’s odd and foreign to me, but it is also nice. Beside Cole and now Marcus, the only other people I have had physical contact with in the last 5 years, I was fighting. It is also extremely nice that he did not make any rude comments about me being a rogue.
