Chapter 46

**Winter**



It has been a couple of days since Charlotte left. I am sitting in my new office with Shelly. She has been a wonderful instructor.

“Thanks, Shelly, for this I really appreciate it.” I am so happy she has been teaching me some computer skills. It is super convenient to have my own computer now that I know what I can do with one.

“No problem Luna. Well, I need to hop off.”

“Oh, that’s cool I won't hold you up. Where are you going though? I'm just curious. I’m not trying to pry.”

She smiles as she says “I'm going to see the Doctor with Marcus. I have an appointment.”

“Are you sick? Do you need anything? You don’t look sick. Is it Marcus? Is he sick?”

She chuckles. “No. No. No, Luna. I am fairly sure I am pregnant, so we are going to confirm it today.”

“That is amazing Shelly! Let me know when you both get back. I definitely want to know.”

She bounces out of my office. I think it would be amazing for her and Marcus had a baby. They would make good parents. I wonder how she knows she is pregnant. It isn't like I had the talk with my parents.

I guess I could ask Jade. I have a meeting with her in a bit. I could bring it up. That is if she is in a good mood. If she is being a psycho, then I guess I will just ask Cole about babies and stuff. He has done an excellent job teaching me about everything else that has come up.

I sit and ponder the existence of babies a bit longer. I wonder if maybe Byron would be better to talk to than Cole or Jade. Yeah, he is my best bet on the subject. He knew that everyone from the Moon Stone Pack had different DNA. I will have to call him.

In walks Jade. Why does she never Knock. This is ridiculous. She has no respect for me or her son for that matter.

“Hey Jade please come sit down.” I barely have a chance to say before she takes a seat across the desk from me. I cannot believe that I am getting her advice on anything.

“I called you in to get your help in a matter. You see...”

Jade cuts me off. I guess this is to be expected from her. “Okay what do you want? Do you want me to tell you how you can be better as a Luna? Well, I do not know what to tell you then because you can never be any better than what you are. And what you are is trash.”

Why is she like this? I really wanted to figure out how to get a meeting with the other she wolfs in the pack, and some advice on why they are so timid about shifting. Stuff like that. Now I just want to find out the cause of her hatred. Why does she hate me so much? It cannot be just that I was a rogue.

“Jade why do you hate me so much? Honestly, it cannot just be because I was a rogue. There must be another reason.” I can tell she wants to slap me across the face. However, she knows she can’t win that fight, so she just sits there staring at me, fuming.

“Fine, it is your eyes.” what is she talking about my eyes. They make her mad, how can eyes make her mad. “Stop looking so dumb you stupid child. Your eyes tell me where you are from. When I saw you, I saw your eyes and I knew immediately where you came from.”

“The hole you crawled from was The Moon Stone Pack. I know those stone eyes from anywhere. That pack of yours is full of murderers and I hate all of you. I don’t even know why you are alive. When I got the news, they were wiped out I was over the moon.”

“So, imagine my surprise when I saw you. I wish you had died along side with them.”

I am dumbfounded. Why does she think my pack was so violent? For the goddess's sake, we hardly ever attacked anyone, and never without a reason.

We had harsh punishments that some would consider brutish. There weren't a lot of members needing punishments though. Jade should not be upset with how we punished our own members though.

“Jade, I understand now that your hatred for me stems from your hatred for the Moon Stone Pack, but why do you hate my old pack? That doesn’t make sense.”

“I hate that pack because they are responsible for killing my twin brother!”

What is she talking about? The Moon Stone Pack did not go around killing people who were outside of the pack. We were not a confrontational pack at all.

“What are you talking about Jade? My pack did not kill your twin brother. You must be mistaken.”

She has to be wrong there is nothing else that makes sense.

“Do Not accuse me of being a liar. Your pack of wild animals killed him. He came to visit your home to learn how to be like you. And those feral beasts killed him.”

What is she talking about? I need to know more about this.

“Why would my old pack kill your brother? We did not go around killing people Jade. To be honest the pack stuck to themselves we did not exactly like confrontation. There never was a need.”

“He came to learn about how you all were greater than all other werewolves. He wanted to be like you, but you all did not want to share secrets. So, your precious pack killed him. I am sure that’s why they did it.”

“But it doesn’t matter does it. Why would it matter to you; all you care about is making this place just as vicious as you are? So, tell me what you want from me so I can get out of here. I don’t want to have to look at your murderous eyes any longer than I must. They are as black as your soul.”

I cannot believe what I am hearing. I will have to investigate this later. I should focus on getting the information I called her here for before she runs out of my office in her rage.

“Okay Jade, I asked you in to help me understand how to get she wolfs in the pack together. I need to talk with them. Also, I wanted to figure out why the females are not shifting often if at all.”

“You can just send out a pack wide email to the she wolfs. Or use your connection through mind link and focus just on the females when you call out to them. I do not understand why you couldn’t figure that on your own?”

“I meant more along the lines of how ensure they attended a meeting. Also why do they not shift? Can you explain that to me?”

She rolls her eyes. “Listen here, you stupid child, I was going to help you, but you know what figure it out on your own. My son has made it very clear you are the Luna now, and as the Luna you should not need my help.”

She stands up and storms out of the room. Well, that did not go well. I will just have to find a way to help the she wolfs by myself.

At least I found out the real reason why she hates me. Now I just need to figure out what really happened. The whole story. That’s another question for Byron; he seems to have all the answers. Between this and the baby stuff we will have plenty to talk about the next time we meet.
