Shocking News

The cab man dropped me off in front of my house and left immediately, Leo must have also paid him. In as much as I was angry with Leo for what he did, I was also grateful because, entering a cab actually relieved the stress I ought to go through. Plus if I had entered a bus, I wouldn't have gotten home by now but either ways I am still mad at Leo. I walked to the door and rang the bell severally but got no response, it seemed like no one was at home.

"But Jenny told me she was going to be at home" I said opening my purse to see if I could find my key.
" Yes! Found it" I took out the key in a hurry and was about to open the door when suddenly the door opened and Jenny was standing in front of me looing all messy.
"Hey!" I screamed and we hugged each other tightly before entering into the house. "Have you been sleeping? Cause it seem like it" I told Jenny who was staring at me in a weird manner.
" What's wrong? Why are you looking at me in that manner? " I asked her as I began to head to my room, but she stopped me and held my hands preventing me from moving any further.
"Why do you look different? You look radiant and blissful, are you now enjoying your job? " Jenny gave me a wry smile because of the surprising look I gave to her. I can't remember ever telling her I wasn't enjoying my job, neither did I tell her what I was passing through with Leo.
" You don't need to look surprise , I am your sister and I can tell when you aren't happy, do you mind telling me everything I need to know?" When Jenny said everything she needs to know, am I to also tell her about my relationship with Leo? How do I tell her that I have a boyfriend now and he is my boss.
"No I can't, it sounds so crazy" I thought while I tried to divert the conversation but Jenny still emphasized that I tell her what's was going on. After much persuasion from her, I promised to tell her everything after I must have had my and had a good rest, which even made her more suspicious because I never hide anything from her no matter how tired I was.
"Wow! My little sister has finally changed" Jenny said as she walked to the kitchen, at that moment I couldn't leave anymore instead I followed her to the kitchen and told her everything, I mean everything without skipping the slightest detail. Surprisingly Jenny seemed happy for me, she began to tease me of falling in love with my boss.
" Things like this often happen in movies but I never imagined it would happen to my own sister, wow!" We laughed so hard that we didn't hear when the door bell rang, not until the person began to hit the door.
I quickly rushed to open the door and it was Danielle standing before me, with a wide smile on her face exposing her thity-two teeth. She was still on her uniform, which means she was just coming back from school and came here immediately.
"This kid, when will you ever change?" I said jokingly to her and she jumped on me, giving me the tightest hug, she was already choking me and I had to find a way to free myself. When we got to my room , she also talked about how I looked different in a good way and pressured me for an explanation. The moment I told I and Leo were officially dating she screamed out so loud nearly strangling me with her choking hug.
" I'm not talking any longer before you kill me" I shouted jokingly at her, still trying to catch my breath. She insisted but I refused to talk, and she said the one she has heard was enough for her. Danielle and I spent enough time talking to each other she told me things that happened in my previous school, how they gossipped about me and how her boyfriend broke up with her because of a new girl in the class, all I did was laugh out so loud.
Mum came back late in the evening, she was so happy to see me. After we ate dinner together just like the way we do before, mum began talking about the incident that happened the last time I came home. She talked about how they were so worried about me and how she almost ran mad thinking I was dead.
" I heard it was two Mafia group that had some mis-understanding" Jenny chipped in while mum paused for a while, before continuing. I decided to say everything that happened though it was traumatizing for me but it feels better with them.
"Never will I have anything to do Mafians. I would never have a friend that is a mafia, neither will I marry one and bear kids for him. They are heartless and can kill for anything" Jenny said out loud and mum looked and gave a wry smile, it seemed like she wanted to say but it was quite difficult.
"What if I told you I met the best Mafia member" Mum said looking at me and Jenny reaction. We were confused about what she meant and needed more explanation but we gave her time to continue.
"Don't act surprised, you two were still going to find out in one way or the other so I guess it's better I tell you myself" Mum paused for a bit, my ears were itching so badly to hear what she had to say.
"Your father was one of these Mafia members before I married him and he promised to disassociate himself from them, so we went to leave in New Zealand together and started a new life. Little did I know that he was still working for them even while we were in New Zealand, until he got into trouble with another Mafia and they killed him but disguised it to be an accident" Tears rolled down mum's cheek. Jenny and I went to comfort her, though what we just heard was shocking to us especially me, never did I think my father was a Mafian.
" Please whatever you do never associate yourself with these type of people, not to mention falling in love with them because you would only hurt yourself in future. They are heartless, they kill humans like animals and still sleep peacefully at night. No doubt, your dad is the best Mafian I fell in love with. I don't think there is any like him."
That night, while lying on my bed, I and Jenny swore never to have anything to have with Mafians. I took it personal, because I don't want to suffer like mum knowing full well of all that she went through and is still going through just because my dad's life was cut short by some wicked monsters. The night was sorrowful as everyone was doleful and cheerless.
I over slept and woke up late, by the time I woke up the sun has risen well, it seemed like it was already after-noon. I quickly ran to the kitchen hoping that mum hasn't gone to work already. While I was still at the hallway, I perceived the overwhelming aroma coming from the kitchen, it was definitely mum so I was relaxed
When I got to the kitchen, mum was preparing breakfast and Jenny was helping her which I found surprising and funny because Jenny is the last person one would ever get to find in the kitchen. They both smiled when they noticed my presence but I laughed and Jenny could tell I was laughing at her and she glared at me which made me laugh the more.
After breakfast I chatted for long with Jenny until it was afternoon and I needed to prepare to leave. Mum gave me tons of advice before she went to work that afternoon. Jenny gave me some new clothes which she bought for me which I really appreciated.
"I hardly wear my clothes these day, I wear more of Leo's clothes" I didn't realize I said that out loud, not until I got hit on my shoulder by Jenny. She demanded for a full detail of what I had just said but I ran to the room and locked the door.
"Hope you aren't doing what I'm thinking?" She shouted from the hallway and I responded with a loud "No!" The time for me to leave was finally here, the moment I opened the door and stepped out, Jenny was standing opposite with her folded around her chest at she gazed at me for some seconds and hugged me tightly.
We began walking towards the door, the moment I opened the the door I saw the cab man waiting outside patiently and I wondered how long he has been waiting. This is definitely Leo's hand work again, but I chose not to enter the cab after all he wasn't here to force me. After Jenny went back into the house I decided to walk to the bus-stop so I can board a bus, but the cab man begged me to get in but I refused and kept on walking pretending not to listen to him.
"Get in stupid" I heard Leo's voice and turned around to look for him, but there was no sign of Leo. For a second I thought I was beginning to imagine things, not unti the window was whined down and I saw Leo sitting inside looking so serious with a frown on his face, he didn't bother to look up at me.
"Get in, don't force me to come down and drag you in" This would be the last thing I needed, not while I am still in my street, it would only caused unnecessary attention. I opened the door and entered, closing the door forcefully and in anger. I heard Leo chuckle which was even more annoying.
