Chapter 11

The history professor was a British man with a refined and handsome appearance. Rose often talked about him, saying he was her perfect prince charming and "crush." The two of them went to class together, and when they entered the classroom, many people looked towards Alison. They had just seen or heard about what happened outside the foreign language building. People's gazes varied; some admired Alison, while others mocked her for being too proud and ignorant.
Alison remained calm as usual and sat down with little Rose in their seats, taking out their books and pens to prepare for class.
...
After the class ended, Rose took advantage of the opportunity to ask questions to get closer to her "crush." Alison waited for her in her seat. Ten minutes passed, but Rose still needed to finish talking. So Alison got up to go to the bathroom.
As she exited the bathroom on her way back to class, Nicola appeared with several girls walking toward her.
Nicola stared at Alison's face with a gloomy expression on hers. Then, when she approached, she blocked Alison's path by crossing over it sideways before warning her in an authoritative tone: "Stay away from Cameron from now on!"
Alison replied calmly: "You should talk to Cameron about that."
Nicola suddenly changed expression and then raised her hand hit Allison's face.
Before Nicola's hand could touch Allison's face, she kicked Nicola's left leg, causing it to break!
...
An hour later, Alison stood in front of the principal office. At the same time, Gavin Badley (Nicola's father) argued loudly inside after his daughter had been sent off to hospital due broken leg caused by herself attacking first, which led Allison to defend herself.
The professor defended Allison against Gavin Badley, who accused Allison of seducing Nicola's boyfriend, claiming they might have an inappropriate relationship.
"Mr. Badly," the professor said, "what you're saying is slanderous. We can sue you for that."
Gavin Badley became increasingly angry: "If you don't fire this little bitch, I'll take back the ten million dollars I donated to the school!"
Last year, Gavin Badley donated ten million dollars to Columbia University to build a new library.
"I am a person who has contributed to Columbia University. Now you are treating me like this because of a poor student? Give me my money back!" Gavin Badley stood with his hands on his hips and looked very arrogant.
"Give it back!" He insisted.
"I'll give it back," came a cold magnetic voice behind the sofa. Then a tall figure walked over long legs.
Gavin Badley's face twisted in disgust as he stared at Alexander Rosier in disbelief: "Mr Rosier?"
When they argued earlier, someone was always sitting on the sofa, but no one saw their face since they were facing away from everyone else. Alison had been calm before, but now she felt nervous when she realized she had met Alexander again under these circumstances.
Wildly after Gavin Badley thundered, he must have heard everything too.
Although Gavin Badley was worth billions of dollars due to his successful business ventures, he was nothing compared to The Rosier family.
Dr. Wilson stepped forward and said calmly: "This is an issue between the school and the parents of students. Alexander doesn't need to get involved."
He had private dealings with Alexander's father and invited him here for homecoming events, so naturally, he didn't want any trouble involving him.
Gavin Badly did not expect Dr.Wilson and Alexander to know each other well, so he immediately changed his attitude, trying hard to please them by saying, "I didn't know Mr.Rosier would be here. You don't have to return the money. I was joking."
Alexander didn't even bother with him and ordered his company assistant on the phone to transfer twenty million dollars to the school, including interest. Then he hung up and turned to Dr. Wilson: "Give it all back to him!" Gavin Badley's face turned pale. Alexander had just returned to the country and hadn't had a chance to flatter him before offending him. Dr. Wilson didn't say much, quickly transferred the money, and sent it to Gavin Badley.
Gavin Badley left embarrassed, thinking about how to salvage his reputation in front of Alexander. The principal and professors went out together to see Gavin off, leaving only Alison and Alexander in the office.
Alison looked embarrassed. No matter what, she was now the Rosier family's tutor and Emily's teacher. Yet here she was standing because of a fight, which was only resolved thanks to Alexander paying for it.
She thought she should say something, but when she looked up at him, ready to speak, Alexander suddenly said: "Don't thank me; I'm not doing this for you!"
Alison choked on her breath as if stuck between saying something or nothing. She had experienced this man's sharp tongue before but still felt suffocated by his words.
"I wasn't going to thank you," Alison finally said.
Alexander towered over her with a height difference of one head as he asked: "Have you practiced self-defense? Your kick against Nicola was impressive."
The corridor surveillance footage had been retrieved and reviewed by Alexander himself, where they saw that Nicola was fierce while fighting with fast and brutal hands. Yet, Alison did not even blink an eye when kicking Nicola's leg so hard that it broke! How could an ordinary girl have such skills?
A dark shadow flashed across Alison's eyes as she calmly replied: "I learned some self-defense moves when I was younger."
"Rest assured," nodded Alexander confidently, "I am always fair-minded; I won't fire you because of this incident."
Just then, footsteps approached them from outside, causing Alison shut her mouth tightly while lowering her head submissively.
Alexander couldn't help but feel amused watching her act so obediently. Finally, Dr. Wilson walked in and looked at Alison, saying with a severe tone: "Alison, I believe you are a good student, but no matter what happens, you should not resort to violence that could affect your future."
Alison lowered her long eyelashes and nodded meekly: "Yes, thank you, Principal."
"Don't thank me!" Dr. Wilson smiled warmly as he continued speaking while looking at Alexander: "You should be thanking Mr. Rosier; it was him who helped you out!"
Alison took a deep breath without showing any emotion before taking two steps towards Alexander and lifting her head slightly with pink lips parted open to say softly: "Thank you, Mr. Rosier!"
Alexander's expression remained unchanged, but a hint of ridicule was hidden in his dark eyes as if mocking her for just saying she wouldn't thank him.
"You don't have to thank me," Alexander spoke slowly and calmly, "As a student, it is best to behave yourself and not tarnish the reputation of Columbia University, which has been around for centuries because of these messy things."
Alison's face turned pale again as she bit her lip without saying anything.
Dr. Wilson tried to ease the situation by changing the subject: "I'm sorry for causing trouble unnecessarily by making you spend 20 million yuan; the school will pay it back."
Alexander glanced at Alison before telling Dr. Wilson jokingly: "Make sure she pays it back!"
Alison gasped for air while staring blankly at him.
Dr. Wilson thought Alexander was only joking, so he smiled kindly at Alison, saying: "It's getting late now; why don't you go home? Don't worry about Nicola's case anymore since the school will handle everything."
Once again, Alison thanked both men before leaving their office without daring to look back at Alexander, who had caused all this mess.
After Alison left, Dr. Wilson asked Alexander to sit down again and said with a smile: "Don't scare her; she's still just a child!"
Alexander smiled faintly in response: "I don't think she was scared at all."
