Chapter 25
He thought Alison would take the opportunity to teach him a lesson and tell him that good students shouldn't fight.
Alison nodded sincerely, "Of course, you helped the bullied classmate. Isn't that being brave and righteous?"
Ares' pure eyes lit up for a moment, but then he became discouraged again. "But I broke their heads. Their parents came looking for me, and the teacher asked me to call my parents to school this afternoon."
"Don't your teachers know you're from the Rosier family?" Alison asked.
Ares nodded. "There are so many people with the surname Rosier in school, and my file has my parents' names on it. My parents are very low-key."
"I see," Alison said. "Do you want me to pretend to be your parent?"
"Smart!" Ares smiled, revealing his newly grown front teeth.
Alison also smiled but shook her head firmly. "No way!"
"Why not?" Ares' smile froze.
"Firstly, I'm not your parent. If Alexander finds out about it, I'll definitely lose my job! Secondly, after all, I am your teacher; I can't help you deceive our teacher." Alison looked serious as she spoke.
"No one will find out if you don't say anything!" Ares argued.
"That's still not okay," Alison insisted before asking curiously: "Why don't you go ask Alexander for help?"
Ares lowered his eyes and replied: "Alexander promised me that if I didn’t make any mistakes for a week when he comes over on weekends he will personally teach me how to ride horses."
"But there was a reason behind what happened this time!" Alison pointed out.
"Alexander is very principled; wrong is wrong no matter what caused it!" Ares shook his head resolutely.
"Well then...it's difficult," sighed Alison.
Ares suddenly turned to Alison and asked, "How much does Alexander pay you for tutoring me at home?"
"Eight thousand dollars. Why do you ask?" Alison replied.
"As long as you're willing to help me, I'll tell Alexander that you teach very well and ask him to double your salary. How about it?" Ares proposed.
Alison took a sip of water and raised an eyebrow. "Can I trust what you say?"
"Of course!" Ares nodded confidently.
Alison was tempted by the offer; with eight thousand dollars per month, she could earn nearly 100,000 dollars in a year - one step closer. But then she wondered aloud: "But who should I pretend to be? Your grandmother?"
Ares stared at her without blinking before reaching into his backpack for his phone. "I'll call Alexander right now and tell him that you want to be his mother!"
"Pfft!" Alison sprayed water out of her mouth in surprise while trying to stop Ares from making the call. "Stop it! Otherwise, I will change my mind!"
Ares threatened her with confidence: "If you dare change your mind, I will tell Alexander that you are trying to take advantage of him!"
Alison put on an innocent expression and asked hesitantly: "Then who should I pretend to be? Hasn't our teacher met your mother before?"
"I've already thought about it," said Ares immediately. "You can pretend to be my second aunt."
Alison widened her eyes in disbelief... Did he just suggest that she impersonate herself?
The two looked at each other for three seconds before Alison spoke first: “If your brother finds out about this plan, not only will he not increase my salary but he might even fire me!”
"He won't find out!" Ares assured her.
"Are you sure?" Alison asked again.
"Positive!" Ares replied confidently.
Alison took a deep breath and considered it for five seconds before finally saying with a brave sigh, "Okay."
Ares was overjoyed at his success. "To show my gratitude, I'll treat you to dinner. Order whatever you want."
As Alison opened the menu, she suddenly felt like she had been served cold rice.
