Chapter 22
Only Alexander and Billy were left in the corridor. They were both tall and handsome, with extraordinary temperament. The atmosphere in the hall was heavy, and the light dimmed a bit.
Cold light flickered in Billy's eyes as he hooked his lips and said, "Alison is Mr. Rosier's niece? So then, why isn't her last name Rosier?"
Alexander replied calmly, "No matter what her surname is, she still calls me Alexander."
Billy gritted his teeth and forced out a smile. "Is that so? I thought you just recognized her temporarily!"
Alexander smiled faintly. "I'm not that bored to recognize a niece temporarily, let alone recognize a girlfriend temporarily!"
"Although Alison agreed to be my girlfriend only last night, it doesn't count as temporary," Billy retorted.
Alexander nodded knowingly. "Then I can indeed live up to Mr. Hamilton calling me Alexander!"
Billy remained silent.
...
Alison and Hilda returned to their private room, where Hilda sat down immediately and asked directly, "Is it because of that bitch Annabel?"
Alison raised an eyebrow. "You know her?"
Hilda sneered coldly. "She wanted to give Lucas some 'warmth' late at night before, but I caught her before she could enter his room and slapped her."
She had thought that slap would teach Annabel a lesson, but it did not. Taking a sip of red wine, Hilda asked casually, "What did she say to anger you?"
Alison briefly recounted what she had heard from Annabel in the bathroom.
Hilda remained calm as she took out her phone and found Lucas' number from recent call records before dialing him.
It rang once before Lucas answered with an elegant voice on the other end, saying simply: "Hilda."
Hilda asked straightforwardly: "Is Annabel still working at your company?"
Lucas calmly replied, "No, because she will be gone from tomorrow onwards!"
Then he lowered his voice and explained softly: "I have never slept with her nor had any improper relationship with her."
Hilda hung up the phone and glanced at the table. "The food is cold. I'll ask the kitchen to replace it."
Alison said nothing but took a sip of wine before asking softly, "Is it tiring being with Lucas?"
Lucas and Hilda had known each other since childhood and were engaged last year. Unfortunately, there were often tabloid rumors about Lucas dating various celebrities, which made things difficult for Hilda. Wasn't it exhausting?
"I'm used to it!" Hilda breathed out a sigh of relief before laughing lightly. "You know how I feel about him; nothing could make me give up on him."
