Chapter 31
Fortunately, Ares ran over and woke up Alison, avoiding the embarrassment of her being seen by Alexander.
The three went to the stable to pick horses.
Alexander and Ares both had their own horses kept here, so only Alison needed to choose temporarily.
She picked a short horse and was mocked by Ares.
Alison took the mockery calmly. She liked to be in control of everything she did. For her first time riding a horse, she would rather ride a short horse and be mocked by Ares than choose a big one just to fall off later and suffer humiliation and pain.
Seeing her firm decision that wasn't influenced by others, Alexander showed some rare appreciation for her.
The short horse was obedient. With guidance from a professional trainer, even someone who had never ridden before like Alison could ride it steadily and control it well.
Alexander and Ares waited on their horses for her until she became more proficient before they set off together.
The three rode along the wandering road at a slow pace with tall water spruces on either side where peach blossoms and cherry blossoms were planted underneath them.
It was late spring when gentle breeze brushed past their faces while petals fell all around them. When they rode fast enough, flower petals hit their faces but didn't hurt; instead they felt ticklish which made them feel relaxed inside out as if they were having fun without any worries or troubles in mind.
Alexander rode ahead while hearing what Alison and Ares said behind him. Suddenly he heard an exaggerated laughter from Ares. He turned his head back only to see the girl on the short horse wearing white shirt with black suspenders pants tied high up showing off under sunlight making her look radiant unlike usual reserved self.
For Alexander this kind of Alison seemed like real Alison.
After riding for more than ten minutes, they turned onto an asphalt road leading towards a villa at its end.
It was an English-style villa with a half-wooden structure, triangular roof, exquisite chimney and large French windows on either side of the wooden door.
In front of the villa flowed a small river that was clear enough to see through. Walking along the flower-lined path made one feel like they were walking into a fairy tale.
The servants knew Alexander was coming and had already set up the barbecue grill while preparing Ares' fishing rod, water bucket, sunshade...
A car drove by from across the street. Alexander glanced at it and said to Ares, "Go fishing with your teacher. I'll talk about something else first and we'll eat what you catch later."
Alison smiled and said, "I will take care of Ares."
Ares snorted coldly,"Who knows who needs taking care of!"
Alexander smiled faintly before heading towards the person getting off from the car.
Alison turned her head back to look; it was a tall white man who greeted Alexander warmly in English before entering into the villa after exchanging some words.
Ares had already been fiddling with his fishing rod when he suggested excitedly to Alison,"Let's have a water fight!"
Alison opened one eye lazily,"Are you bored?"
Five minutes later, two bored people put on their waterproof vests each holding onto their own water gun staring expressionlessly at each other.
Ares sneered coldly,"I'll give you three seconds to run away!"
Alison also laughed,"What's three seconds? One second is enough."
After saying that she did a backflip outwards while firing her gun.
The bullets inside were filled with water which burst upon hitting someone but didn't hurt much; instead they felt stimulating.
For half an hour afterwards Alison and Ares ran around in circles attacking or fleeing from each other within trees nearby.
When Alexander sent off his guest then returned home both couldn't be found.
Hearing some noise from the nearby trees, he walked towards it.
Ares had just filled his gun and sprayed in Alison's direction,"You peasants, come out and die!"
Alison was hiding behind a camphor tree. Seeing Alexander suddenly appear she felt like she was trapped. She saw water bullets coming at him so without thinking twice she threw herself over him using her back to block the incoming water bullets.
