Chapter 14
"Hmm?" Alison was taken aback for a moment, then quickly said, "I didn't laugh!"
Alexander raised his eyebrows. "Are you afraid of me? You're Emily's classmate and Ares' tutor. You can call me Alexander as they do. I'm always tolerant and gentle with my juniors."
Alison wanted to laugh even more but pretended to be calm and nodded, saying, "Okay."
Alexander's long gaze slid over her face before looking ahead again. He spoke once more, "If you run into Selina again in the future, just ignore her."
Alison looked innocent and said, "She blocked my way."
"It was because of the trouble I caused you that I will naturally take care of it," Alexander replied.
Looking at the man's delicate profile from the side made Alison wonder if he meant she could act recklessly.
There was a moment of silence in the car before Alexander asked softly, "How much money do you want?"
Alison was startled but quickly realized that she had previously asked Selina if she received more money from Alexander than what she got. Without changing her expression, she replied seriously: "Emily said it's one thousand per lesson. If Mr Rosier pays my salary instead of you directly giving it to me every month would require eight thousand yuan payment from you."
Alexander nodded and commented: “It is indeed cost-effective for someone who wants an annual income of one hundred million!”
After all, even if Alison taught Ares until he graduated college-level education wouldn't earn her a billion.
Disappointed by his response Alison smiled wryly and said: “Unfortunately…”
"What’s unfortunate?" The man asked.
"Unfortunately Miss Han wasn’t willing to give."
Alexander "... "
He understood that Alison was mocking him as not being worth a billion dollars; this girl held grudges and was quick-witted, never letting go of any opportunity to tease him.
Alison turned her head to look out the window at the scenery. Her lips slightly curved upwards, feeling inexplicably good.
...
On Monday, Columbia University was bustling with people coming and going.
In a Maybach car, Selina sat in the back seat staring outside until she saw Alison's figure. She immediately turned to the man beside her and said: "That's her, Alison. She is a third-year student majoring in management at Columbia University."
The man looked up and followed Selina's direction until he saw that girl.If it were anyone else they might have been amazed by Alison’s beauty but Billy Hamilton who had seen countless beauties just gave a cold smile: "It's Monday today; I have an important meeting this morning. Did you call me here just to see a girl?"
Selina didn't waste time on small talk either and went straight to the point: "Catch up with her, I'll give up my share of those two points from The Hamilton Family."
Selina was Auntie Billy’s daughter; The Hamilton family patriarch left behind his will which stated that after one hundred years two points would be given to Selina as his granddaughter.
Two points worth tens of billions!
Billy's handsome face finally showed some surprise as he turned again towards that girl. He raised an eyebrow disdainfully saying: “Is she worth so much money?”
Determinedly looking at him with delicate features drawn on her face Selena replied, "Are you chasing or not?"
Billy smirked wickedly, "Of course, I'm going after her! It’s a win-win situation for both beauty and money - where else can we find such good fortune?"
Looking at him seriously Selena asked, "How long will it take for you to catch up?"
Full of self-confidence Billy replied: "At most three days, I'll have her lying on my bed!"
Selina nodded and said, "Good. When the time comes, you give me a photo and I’ll sign the agreement to give up my share."
"Deal!"
...
Today, Alison finished her meal and came out. She was stopped by several girls at the entrance of the alleyway. One girl stood in front with a cold posture and stared at Alison, "Nicola is still in the hospital. Do you think this matter is over?"
Alison remained calm, "What do you want to do?"
The girl said coldly, "Go apologies to Nicola in front of her hospital bed. If she forgives you, we won't pursue it any further."
Alison looked at her calmly, "And if I don't go?"
"What do you think?" Another girl stepped forward from behind with a baseball bat in hand and threatened Alison.
Alison's eyes turned cold, "Since you are so close to Nicola, shall I send all of you to accompany her to the hospital together?"
"You're asking for it!" The girl holding the baseball bat showed a fierce expression on her face and swung it towards Alison's head.
Just as Alison was about to lift her foot to dodge it, an arm suddenly stretched out from beside her and caught the baseball bat.
At the same time, a playful voice sounded, "So many people bullying one person? Have some shame!"
Alison turned around and saw a handsome man standing beside her.
He spoke while shaking off the hand that held onto the baseball bat forcefully. His thin lips spat out one word coldly, "Get lost!"
The group of girls were first stunned by his beauty but when they saw their companion stumble after being thrown off balance by him they changed their expressions."Mind your own business!"
The man hooked his lips up slightly revealing some arrogance on his pale face, "I'm not interested in other people's business but hers is my concern now."
One of the cowgirl-dressed girls frowned, "Who are you to her?"
The man protected Alison behind him then glanced back at Allison before giving them an enchanting smile, "Her boyfriend!"
Alison looked at the man with her usual clear and calm gaze, like a pool of mountain spring water that appeared gentle and agile but was equally cold and sharp.
The girls across from them saw the man's imposing manner, and his expensive clothing, but couldn't figure out his identity. Their voices slowed down, "She broke our friend Nicola's leg. She must apologize!"
The man narrowed his eyes, "Your friend?"
The girl immediately said with some arrogance, "Yes, Nicola."
The man suddenly laughed mockingly, "I thought it was someone else! If my girlfriend had to apologize to Gavin Badley's daughter, I'm afraid Gavin Badley would be scared to death!"
Several girls were stunned.
"Let's forget about what happened today." Their voices lost their confidence as they took a few steps back after exchanging glances with each other before turning around and leaving.
A hint of surprise flashed in Alison's eyes but she didn't ask any further questions. After the group of girls walked away, she turned back to thank the man sincerely.
He stood there with both hands in his pockets looking at her delicate profile while lightly smiling, "I saved you and all you have for me is one thank you?"
