Chapter 30
Alison raised her eyebrows and looked up, "Do you understand love? Why do you say that?"
"Look at her, she's laughing like a fool!" Ares snorted.
"The essence of love is to make people feel happy," Alison walked upstairs.
Ares snorted again, "Then I won't date in the future, and neither should you."
Alison didn't understand, "Why shouldn't I?"
Ares said confidently, "If you become mentally disabled one day, how can you teach me?"
Alison looked at him expressionlessly. "Do you know what Alexander said to me that afternoon?"
Curious, Ares asked: "What did Alexander say?"
"You're as stupid as he is now," Alison sneered coldly and walked past him.
Ares was stunned for a moment but quickly caught up with her. "Alexander couldn't have said that!"
......
The hour-and-a-half class passed quickly. When Alison was packing up to leave downstairs, she saw Alexander sitting on the sofa.
She remembered what happened last time and felt embarrassed. She pretended not to see him and tried to slip away quietly.
But Ares followed behind her and suddenly spoke up: “Miss Grey, this afternoon we are going horseback riding with Alexander. Would you like to come along?”
Taken aback by his sudden invitation, Alison hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement when Alexander added: “If there’s nothing else this afternoon then let’s go together since I’ve arranged a meeting at the stables.”
“Great!” exclaimed Ares excitedly while asking if he could fish during their outing which earned him an affectionate ruffle of his hair from Alexander who promised they would eat whatever fish he caught for lunch later on.
It was the first time Alison had seen such tenderness in Alexander's expression and she couldn't help but look at him for a few more seconds before averting her gaze.
Everyone likes to appreciate beautiful things.
Alexander drove them to the stables himself, with Alison and Ares in tow.
In the car, Alison lowered her voice and asked Ares: "Didn't you say that if you made a mistake, Alexander wouldn't take you horseback riding?"
Ares replied haughtily: "Yes, but that promise was cancelled. This time it's a reward for my bravery!"
Alison thought to herself - should she praise him for being decisive or criticize him for being inconsistent?
The right of explanation always belongs to the referee!
But while Ares received rewards, her salary increase had been taken away as punishment. What kind of situation was this?
She needed to sit down with Ares later on and calculate this account carefully.
Seeing Alison rolling her eyes next to him, Alexander almost immediately guessed what she was thinking about - he couldn’t help but smile at how much she cared about money.
......
The Rosier family owned the stables which used to be solely managed by Alexander until he went abroad whereupon it became open to public use.
Located near the southern suburbs of town, it covered a large area with beautiful surroundings and complete facilities including Chinese & Western restaurants, hotels accommodations , indoor entertainment areas , racecourses etc...
Today is Saturday so there were more people than usual. The three of them changed into their riding clothes first before heading over towards the leisure area where they would wait together after changing .
While waiting alone in the lounge area , Alison took out her phone and replied Hilda’s Whatsapp message when suddenly she heard someone exclaiming beside her . She looked up only see Alexander walking towards them .
Black boots , black pants paired with white shirt under his black vest accentuated his tall figure even further along with his handsome face which caused four or five women to stop and stare .
For a moment, Alison forgot what she wanted to say to Hilda.
