Chapter 13 - Alone at Last

With their clothes sodden with rain Kai and Adalyn just laid there, saying nothing, whilst trying to catch their breaths.

Whilst they said no words, the sound of the rain hitting the roof tiles was deafening. Kai was the first one to sit up. He slicked back his damp hair out of his face and scooped her up in to his arms without saying a word. He had partially shifted his bare feet to allow his claws to better grip the now slippery tiled roof.

Adalyn briefly looked up at him through cloudy eyes. He gave away nothing in his face as he focused on getting them down. She leaned her head back in to his chest. She wasn't going to fight him anymore. She could feel his heart beating in his chest and it soothed her. His declaration was nothing short of a confession and she felt his genuine affection and concern for her well-being deep in her chest.

Kai walked to the edge of the roof with her in his arms and then jumped down, landing heavily on the green below. Once on the ground, Kai set her down on to her feet. Without making eye contact he held one of her hands and started leading her towards the door of the guest house. "Come" he uttered quietly and led her inside. He had been deafly quiet on the walk up the front door and she was struggling to get a gauge on how he might react when they went inside.

As Kai opened the door, he led her in first, then he followed immediately behind her. The house was shrouded in darkness with just a hint of early moonlight starting to break through the dark clouds.

As Kai shut the door behind him, Adalyn turned to look behind her.
He was on her before she could even say a word. Kai grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards him. As she gasped, his lips enveloped hers. His kiss was hungry and desperate. Adalyn stood there wide eyed, unable to move or react as his lips attacked hers. She could feel tingles start to shoot down her whole body as their mate bond flared to life. He communicated everything that he felt towards her in that single kiss.

After a second or two Kai released her from his hold abruptly then he placed her hand over his chest. Kai's heart was beating like the wings of a hummingbird.

"Only you can do this to me" Kai spoke with short strained breaths. "Only you can see me this way, and make me react in this way"

Adalyn looked up in to his eyes completely taken aback by the look of passion in his face.

"My feelings for you are genuine," he continued. "I know this is all new to you and all l can do from now on is try to show you how I feel, but I swear to you, none of this is about saving myself."

As Kai looked in to her green eye,s he could see that he had finally gotten through to her and that she believed his intentions were genuine.

Seeing the acceptance in her face, Kai reached up a hand to her cheek. She closed her eyes in response, relishing his touch on her skin. He laced his fingers behind her neck before slowly leaning in for another kiss. This time around was completely different to the first one. It was very soft, slow and sensual. The pit of her belly clenched in a knot as feelings of arousal started to swirl within her.

Even though they were soaking wet from the rain they were both instantly warmed by the closeness of each other’s bodies. Kai started licking her lips as part of the kiss and when she opened her mouth, he slowly slid his tongue in. Adalyn moaned softly in to his mouth as she took in this amazing new sensation. Kai was leading her in this little dance but instinctively she started to respond to him.

Adalyn found herself mirroring his movements with her tongue as she pushed back in to his kiss. Kai's wolf was leaping for joy in his head. He had finally got a taste of his mate and the more they kissed the greedier he got.

As the kiss started to intensify Kai found himself slowly starting to push her back up against the wall. Once her back reached the wall her body started to mold against his form. With one hand still holding the back of her neck, to keep her head in place, the other settled on her hip. The friction between both of their bodies had caused the bottom of her wet top to start to riding up and Kai slid his fingers across the smooth bit of exposed skin that was there. The feel of his fingers on her instantly made her start to arch her back in response.

As wetness started to pool between her legs, she forced her hips forward on to his thigh to give herself the friction that she needed.

She was being so responsive to him and Kai growled deeply in to her mouth as the smell of her arousal flooded his nose. He was rock hard and in response to her he started to press his hardness in to her thigh. With this new intrusion pressing in to her, Adalyn suddenly realized what she was doing. Her body was acting completely on its own, surrendering itself completely to their desires. Feeling slightly scared at her loss of control she broke the kiss and pushed him back.

Kai took a step back slightly confused as to what had caused the abrupt ending of their passionate embrace. He continued to stare at her hungrily, fuelled by lust. He had only intended to kiss her but things just naturally began to escalate as her body responded to him. She was still breathless and in her dishevelled state she looked unbelievably sexy to him.

Adalyn put her fingers to her mouth and started stroking her now swollen lips. She looked like he had attacked her which made Kai feel a bit unsure about what to do or say. Whilst he had initiated the kiss, she had definitely reciprocated his advances and had kissed him back. She had enjoyed it so why was she now looking at him like he had stolen something from her.

"What's wrong?" Kai said heatedly

"Nothing" she replied bluntly

*'Nothing?'* he voiced in his head. It was definitely something.

"Talk to me" he followed up out loud "I won't understand unless you tell me how you're feeling?" He never had any issues in the past satisfying a woman sexually, but her reaction was starting to make him question his own man-hood.

"Did you not like me kissing you? I'm sorry if I took it a bit too far, I..."

"I did like it!" Adalyn interrupted, surprising herself with her own answer.

"Then…what is it? You're almost acting like I've stolen something from you. From your reaction anyone might think that was your first ki.."

Adalyn eyes widened further just as he was about to say 'kiss'.

Time stood still as realization hit him like a bulldozer. He verbalized his thoughts quietly. "Wait... was that your first kiss?"

Adalyn didn't need to answer. Her now trademark flush answered it for him.

Kai wasn't usually lost for words but he was struggling now. He assessed that she was pretty innocent, but to have never been kissed before was mind blowing. Since he first met her he had been struggling to hold back thoughts of fucking in her every way possible and against every possible surface, and this whole time her sexual experience wasn't even past first base and here he was forcing his tongue down her throat. He mentally slapped himself.

"I'm sorry, I just presumed that...never mind". As a sensitive subject Kai didn't want to say anything that might accidentally offend her. He just couldn't believe that she had never kissed anybody before. How had she managed to avoid it for so long? Shifters were notoriously sexual in nature so it was astonishing for to him to learn that she had never ever been touched.

Adalyn didn't want him to apologize for kissing her. She had genuinely enjoyed it, but she was still in such a mix of emotions that it all just felt a bit much.

Kai's breath suddenly hitched as he realized that he could see through her soaked top. After their brief make-out session her nipples were raised and starting to poke through her now see-through cami top. This girl had a body to die for. Where had she been hiding that all this time. Kai averted his gaze from her. The smell of her arousal was still in the air and he was struggling to calm himself.

Realizing that she was now semi naked, Adalyn tried to cover herself with her hands. Now that the heat between them had started to dissipate her wet clothes was making her feel cold and she started to look uncomfortable.

Seeing her discomfort Kai pointed to a hallway. "There's a shower down the hall on your left if you want to take one to warm yourself up. There's a dryer in that same room, so you can just chuck your clothes in there to dry them off"

"Okay.." Adalyn replied shyly

"The storms around here tend to last a while, but we should be able to walk back to the main house in the morning."

After another quick nod, she left the room. Once Kai heard the door to the back room close, he leaned against the back wall and slid down on to the floor. "What is wrong with me? She's got me like a horny like a teenager". His erection was still straining uncomfortably in his track pants. A cold shower was definitely needed.
