Chapter 39 - Date Night (Part 2)

Kai eyed her hungrily before he captured her lips with his. He'd been wanting to kiss her since he first picked her up from her house. What started as slow and sensual, soon became rougher and more passionate as his hand came up to hold her head more firmly in place. He pushed her a bit further back on to the table so that her legs dangled over the side and then positioned himself in between them. The glasses and cutlery clanged together as the table jostled from the movement. His hand moved down from her head to her throat, which he held loosely. Internally he battled to contain the dominant urges that had risen in him from the stares of the other patrons in the restaurant.

"Kai..." Adalyn purred between gasps for air in their feverish kiss.

"Kai, we can't...not here." Her hands glided up his hard back for support as he slipped his tongue in to her mouth.

"We really could you know..." he whispered against her. He released his hand from her throat and nibbled kisses along her neck and cleavage. He could smell her starting to get aroused and his hand slowly started to creep up the inside of her skirt.

Adalyn's breath hitched feeling his hand on her bare thigh. He felt the remnants of his earlier bite and he gently smoothed his thumb over the top of it sending sparks through her body.

"He's gonna come back in a minute," Adalyn spoke with a flustered voice. She felt conflicted. As much as she was enjoying his touch, she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable about it playing out in the middle of a public restaurant. She arched in to his kisses exposing more of her cleavage to him.

"Trust me, he's not going to come back in here any time soon. He'll be able to scent what's going on from out there." Kai hummed against her.

"That's even worse!" That thought instantly snapped Adalyn back in to reality and she forcefully pushed him back feeling mortified at the thought of others knowing what her and Kai might be up to. Kai released her. She hadn't moved him too far, but it was enough to give her a bit of breathing room to think clearly.

He smirked devilishly at her. Her playing hard to get had both him and Pax excited. As he made his way back towards her Adalyn could see the look in his eyes. She didn't know if she'd be able to resist a second attempt by him to seduce her. She stretched out her leg and placed the heel of her shoe against his chest catching him by surprise and stopping him in his tracks. "I mean it Kaiden!"

*'Uh oh'* he thought. She used his full first name. That couldn't be good. The few times she had used it more recently usually meant that he was in trouble. Kai looked at the bare leg and golden heel pressed in to his chest. His little mate could be dominant too when she wanted. Even this little act felt incredibly sexy to him. With her leg cocked up in the air Kai could see a hint of her lacy pink underwear down through her skirt. He cocked his head to the side to take a better look, then bit his bottom lip as he admired the sight.

Adalyn's eyes followed his curiously. As she caught what he was looking at, she quickly adjusted herself. "Kai!"

Kai waved two open hands at her to admit defeat.

"Okay, okay fine. I'll be good...for now." He eased her foot off his chest then lowered her leg back down before gently helping her hop off the table.

"Come sit." Kai pulled out her chair and Adalyn eyed him warily before she sat down.
Five minutes later the maître d returned to take their orders. The restaurant was doing a four-course taster meal so they both opted for that.

"Good choice. Can I get you both something to drink in the meantime?" He looked at Adalyn first.

Adalyn wasn't much of a drinker but she knew she'd need something alcoholic to calm her down.

"Umm... a glass of white wine please."

"Certainly, a chardonnay perhaps?" The maître d queried.

"Yes, thank you," she nodded before setting the menu back down.

"I'll have the same, so make that a bottle instead" Kai interjected.

"Of course sir," he responded politely before taking the menus and leaving the room.

Adalyn looked around the sumptuous green room and tried to make some small talk to change the mood. She didn't think that they would be alone the whole time. "Private dining huh..." she started, not quite sure what she was going to say next. He continued to stare at her across the table. She could feel the sexual energy coming off him in waves. If this was him trying to be good, he was not doing a good job of it.

The waiter quickly returned with their drinks and he poured a glass for both of them before leaving the room again.

Adalyn picked up the glass and took a few heavy gulps from it before resting it back on the table again.

Kai watched her curiously then smiled. "Am I making you feel uncomfortable?" he asked with a fraction of amusement in his voice.

Adalyn picked up the glass and took another swig in response. "If you have to ask me that, then I suspect you already know the answer." She replied without making eye contact. He was deliberately playing dirty knowing how much his glances affected her.

"Is it wrong for me to admire you? I can't quite get over how gorgeous you look tonight."

The maître d arrived soon after with the first few courses and laid them down on the table.

Kai picked up his glass and took a sip of the wine. His eyes remained on her the whole time as though he was stalking prey.

"Do you speak to Arrow about our sex life?" Adalyn suddenly blurted out.

Kai nearly spat out his drink in shock. He had to cover his mouth to stop himself from inhaling it in.

"What?! No! Where did that suddenly come from?" He asked completely lost.

Adalyn rested her hands under her chin as she thought. He didn't look as though he was lying. Her presumptions were probably right. He wasn't a kiss and tell kind of guy after all.

"What the hell has he been saying to you?!" Kai asked. "Actually, for that matter, why is he constantly talking with you in the first place. That's not what he's there to do."

"It was just an off hand comment. He just said that I look different. A few people have. Now that I look at myself in the mirror I do feel a little different. I feel a bit more feminine." Adalyn caught her reflection in one of the mirrored tiles on the wall. She was feeling more comfortable in her femininity too. Not too long ago she would have dreaded putting on a dress or skirt, but she didn't seem to mind it too much now.

"Do you think I look different Kai? Back from when we first met?"

Kai offered her a soft smile. "You look stunning Adalyn. I've always thought that though. Although, I have to admit that tonight you're looking particularly knock-out. I'm struggling to remember how to eat with this siren sat in front of me."

"Hmmm..." Adalyn muttered appreciatively. Usually she would have blushed at that but she didn't this time. The wine was already starting to mellow her out. Kai watched her as she finished her glass and poured herself another. She was drinking pretty quickly.

"Tara is probably partly to do with it..." Kai continued "And being around me. If you're fortunate enough to find your fated mate, your body is programmed to be particularly alluring to help spur your mate in to action. And believe me, it's working. It's getting harder for me to keep my distance from you and harder to manage Pax. If it weren't for your aunt and the blonde watchdog constantly on the lookout for you in your watch tower, I'd be round a whole lot more."

"Well, that won't be for long. I'll be moving out for college soon."

This was new information to Kai. "You are? Wait, where?"

"Pherron City. Leona and I are both going so we're both going to share a room at their dorms."

The university was in the middle of the capital. Kai felt a bit of relief knowing that she wasn't going to be far from him. "Doesn't that university have a co-ed dorm?" he queried further.

Adalyn nodded.

*'Great!'* Kai thought sarcastically. Given the choice between her living with the blonde watchdog and in a co-ed dorm full of young males flooded with hormones, he'd strangely found himself preferring the former.

He didn't want to let on that it made him feel slightly uncomfortable. If she couldn't see through Gabriel's true intentions, what chance would she have against all these other unknown males. He mentally pictured Adalyn as a little lamb naively inviting round a bunch of lions for dinner, not realising that she was going to be the starters, mains and dessert. He tried and failed to hold in a sigh than began rubbing his fingers across his temple to ease the tension that was quickly building up. Adalyn looked at him puzzled.

"You know, I heard the dorms at that campus has a bit of a reputation," he lied. "It's not got a high safety rating. Wouldn't it be better if you stayed in private accommodation somewhere just off campus?"

"Are you crazy, do you know how expensive that would be? I don't think that would be covered by my scholarship. Plus dorm life is supposed to be one of the best parts of campus life."

His innocent little mate had no idea. Kai did not feel satisfied at all. He was going to have to intervene in some way without her finding out.

Adalyn had finished both of her courses and was now licking the chocolate of her dessert off of her spoon in a suggestive manner.

"Are you drunk Adalyn?" Kai asked, watching her with amusement.

"Nooooo." she stretched out the word in a petulant manner then resumed licking her spoon.

*'I'll take that as a yes then'* Kai thought. He felt a little bad as she had probably drunk more than she was used to, to feel less awkward with his intimate looks, but he just couldn't help himself.

"I don't think Mother Gothel is going to be impressed with me. I'm gonna have to keep assuming new identities to be able to see you at this rate." He continued to watch her. Even tipsy she was still entertaining. Perhaps even more so now she was more relaxed.

Feeling satisfied she had consumed all of her dessert, Adalyn stood up abruptly.

"Woah, where are you going Cinderella?"

Adalyn walked silently over to his side of the table and then sat across his lap. She leaned in to his ear and whispered softly "I've changed my mind. I want to have sex now."

The words went straight to his cock. Even though she was drunk, hearing her talk like that was next to impossible to resist.

"Is that right? Well, if you still feel like this when you're sober, I'll take you up on it."

"But I want you to fuck me now." She growled softly.

*'Fuck!'* Kai thought.

Adalyn started rolling up her skirt then straddled a leg over either side of his lap, then she started kissing him. She was rough and forceful as she devoured his mouth. She had him in the palm of her hands. Kai pulled his mouth away then held on to both of her hands, just before he felt his inhibitions starting to melt away.

"Okay, we gotta stop. As much as I'm loving this, I know you're not thinking straight."

Adalyn's eyes flashed black. Tara could sense her weakness in her inebriated state and was encouraging her along. She ground herself in to his lap to encourage the hardness that was forming there.

Kai could sense that it was Tara's influence and his eyes turned black to match hers "Tara.." his chest rumbled in a soft warning and Adalyn's eyes changed back to green as Tara quickly surrendered. This sexual tug of war was driving him crazy. "Okay princess, let’s get you home before we both do something we regret."
