Chapter 34 - Gifted

Once they reached the ground outside Adalyn’s house, Kai put her down on her feet than started to undress.

“Uhh... wait…” Adalyn barely had time to look away after realising that he was undressing to shift again. She focused on looking at her feet to distract herself.

Kai sighed then smirked to himself before he carried on undressing. “You need to start getting more comfortable with getting naked to shift Adalyn. We're shifters, this should be as natural as breathing to us.”

“Are you trying to tell me that you getting naked in front of me is a part of my training now?” Adalyn asked cynically.

Kai couldn’t stop the full roar of laughter that erupted surprising both himself and Adalyn. The laughing nearly split his face in half. He hadn’t let loose and laughed like that in a long time and the feeling was cathartic. Adalyn couldn’t help but look back up at his face. If he wasn’t already gorgeous before, his smile and subsequent laugh added a whole new level of attractiveness to him. In the short time that Adalyn had known him he had been relatively consistent in being quite stoic but the more time she spent with him the more she saw how relaxed and playful he could be too.

Kai took a moment to calm down “As much as I’d like to say getting naked was part of the training, sadly it isn’t.” He swept his dark hair out of his face as he took a moment to compose himself. “I know somewhere nearby that we can go to that’s a bit more secluded. You can ride on my back.” Kai walked over to her and held out his clothes for her. “Can you do me the honours and hold on to these for me again.” As Kai’s tight naked physique came in to focus Adalyn tried to avert her eyes again before accepting the clothes from him. She couldn’t help but catch a good look this time round though and Kai spotted her doing so. As her eyes rose up his torso to meet his face, Kai’s eyes darkened as he saw the lustful look that resided in her eyes. His mate wanted him as much as he wanted her.

Feeling embarrassed Adalyn, quickly looked down to the ground again. “I’m sorry” she muttered.

“What are you sorry for?” Kai asked heatedly. He already knew, but couldn’t help but tease her a little.

The blush had overwhelmed Adalyn’s face in seconds.

“Are you sorry for wanting me? Don’t apologise for that. I don’t need to be able to read your mind to know what you’re thinking. I can feel it. I love that you want me, that you feel even half the way that I feel towards you and when you’re ready I’ll show you how much I want you too.”

When Adalyn looked back up at Kai, his cool blue eyes stared right through her. When it came to her he always spoke so openly and without even a hint of uncertainty. His frankness was almost overwhelming at times.

Kai started shifting directly in front of her. Adalyn could feel her wolf pulsing inside her. Seeing Pax start to form excited her.

Once Kai had fully shifted Pax clawed the earth with his two front paws then started circling Adalyn. He could sense something different about her. Pax could feel her wolf and he bumped his muzzle against Adalyn playfully in anticipation of their first meeting.

“Hey! Easy there big guy.” Adalyn pushed back against his snout with her hands reciprocating the playful way he approached her, but he barely budged. Knowing what Kai had in mind, and being impatient with getting started Pax walked behind her then stuck his snout between her legs. In one swift movement, he lifted her up and on to his back taking Adalyn by surprise. She quickly grabbed on to the fur around his scruff to steady herself just as Pax bolted into the trees.

As they dashed through the forest Pax turned sharply at a small clearing then headed towards a small meadow surrounded by shrubbery. He scented the ground to see if anybody was nearby. Feeling satisfied that they were alone, Pax lowered himself to the ground to let her down.

No sooner than she’s off does Kai start to shift back. Without them being connected through his pack or as mates, the only way he could direct her is in his human form.

Adalyn laid Kai’s clothes down on the grass. She tried her best to focus on his eyes whilst he stood naked in front of her. It wasn’t easy. Kai folded his arms as he got in to teacher mode. Anything to do with training he always took seriously.

“Okay, I want you to try shifting for me.” He asked.

“As in get naked and shift?” she asked a bit perplexed. He may as well have asked her to do a strip tease as far as she was concerned.

“Is there another way?” Kai asked sarcastically.

“I can't do that in front of you.” If it was one of her friends she’d probably be more comfortable, but for some reason in front of Kai, it felt too personal and intimate.

“Why not?” Kai couldn’t get his head around why this was so difficult for her “Adalyn, we're mates. I thought after everything that we've done so far that you wouldn't still be so..”

“So what?” Adalyn asked defensively with a hint of annoyance in her tone.

Kai bit his tongue. He didn’t want to upset her, and given how fiery she could be a times, he knew she might shut down if he pushed her.

Kai started turning around. “Okay, I'll turn around whilst you try.”

Feeling more at ease Adalyn slowly started undressing. She folded her clothes in a neat pile next to his before focusing on trying to shift. Her wolf never made that process easy and she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to or not. After a few moments and failing to hear any of the clicking sounds that typically accompany a shift Kai decided to check in.

“How's it going?” Kai asked over his shoulder. He really wanted to turn around but knew she wouldn’t be impressed if he did.

“She was fighting it at first but I think she'll let me shift now” Adalyn replied. She was feeling pressure to do it quickly, but her usually stubborn wolf seemed to be a bit more cooperative this time around. Most likely due to the presence of her mate.

Kai could finally hear the familiar sounds of clicking from behind him. He waited for a few moments for the noise to stop before he started to turn around. Adalyn’s beautiful tan coloured wolf stood proudly facing him. *’Wow’* Kai silently mouthed. She stared hard at Kai as he slowly walked up to her. He held his palms out to show he meant her no harm. As he got closer he looked into her now golden eyes to see if he could sense Adalyn there.

“Adalyn?” He called out softly.

Her wolf narrowed her eyes and looked at him curiously, almost as if she didn’t recognise the name at all. Her wolf had completely taken over her consciousness again.

Kai smirked as he place a gentle hand on her snout. “You couldn't let Adalyn have two minutes with me in this form huh?” Her wolf was as stubborn as she was. Adalyn’s wolf nudged his hand aside before she pushed her snout in to Kai’s chest.

She wanted Pax and Kai could feel that Pax wanted the same. He could feel him itching below the surface wanting to come out. He couldn’t deny Pax the opportunity to bond a little with his mate.

“Alright, let’s do this your way for once, but then I need you to give Adalyn some time back after.”

Kai took a few steps back from her then quickly shifted into Pax. He allowed him to take the lead.

Adalyn’s wolf was not short but Kai’s wolf still towered over her. The two of them rubbed muzzles briefly before Adalyn’s wolf rubbed her head along the side of his neck. Pax’s eyes followed her as she trailed round him. She playfully snapped at his ear a few times and Pax growled softly at her.

She continued to do so and bounded back and forth at him whilst he just stood there watching her curiously. Her play was starting to get increasingly rough and Kai could feel Pax starting to get a bit irritated at her erratic behaviour. After she went for his ears a few more times, Pax latched on to her scruff gently with his teeth to try and calm her down.

Her wolf instinctively settled in response and she flicked her tail suggestively in submission to his hold. The smell of her arousal soon started to rise in to the air. Still being held by the scruff, she started to lay down in front of him as she continued to flick her tail suggestively. She was trying to encourage him to mate her. Pax instantly got the message and started to round her before Kai started to take back control.

*’Oh no you don't. Down boy!’* Pax whimpered in frustration. She was offering her self up again so easily. Her wolf flicked her tail in the air again to tempt him. Feeling Pax losing willpower, Kai took back mental hold of him to stop the inevitable from happening. Kai released Pax's hold on her scruff and she rolled on her back suggestively in front of him after realising that she wasn’t getting what she wanted.

Kai shifted back in to his human form. That was enough wolf play for now and she quite clearly was trying to control the situation. She laid in front of him with her belly on display in submission. Kai couldn’t quite work her out. She seemed to flip between being dominant and submissive in front of him. Her submissive behaviour almost seemed like a ploy to get what she wanted. He stroked the soft white fur on her belly.

“You are a strange one.” He smiled as he stroked her “What do you want?”

Like a bolt of lightning she suddenly pounced on Kai and pinned him to the ground taking him by surprise. As Kai looked at her amazed, he turned his head to the right after sensing a presence there. A huge familiar blue black wolf stood to his right.

“Pax?” He called out. This didn’t make any sense. His wolf’s consciousness was standing there in physical form. Adalyn’s wolf stepped back off Kai and trotted over to where Pax was.

Kai sat up from the ground completely confused. *’What is happening? How could Pax and I both be here at the same time?’* As he scanned their surroundings he realised that they weren’t in the meadow anymore. They were surrounded by a fog almost like they were in some kind of void.

He looked back at Adalyn’s wolf. “Are you doing this…” her name came to his mouth instinctively without him realising. “…Tara?” Her name had formed by itself in his mind. Was this world that they were in simply a projection in his mind caused by her? A world created by her where all four of them could reside. “Tara… are you gifted?” He asked slightly overwhelmed. He had heard of some wolves having gifts but this was the first time he had ever experienced it.

Seeing him call her by her name, Adalyn’s wolf came back to Kai’s side and she nudged his chest again to get him to turn around behind him. She was trying to show him something. A figure laid in a glass bubble behind him sleeping soundly. The bubble was clouded over and he couldn’t see much in to it but he could feel who it was. “Adalyn?” He mouthed.
