Chapter 19

Alaska POV

I can feel the concern in Alpha Kai. There is so much he does not know about my relationship with Finn. When my brother carelessly caused the death of Alpha Larringer's daughter and I was snatched out of my home in the middle of the night, I was alone and afraid. My parents would not dare to speak up against Alpha Larringer. Alpha Larringer decided to kill me that night to make amends for what my brother took for him. It was Finn that saved my life.

Finn stepped forward and asked Alpha Larringer to spare my life because Finn declared he was in love with me and that we had secretly been carrying on an affair. I had never spent any time with Finn, but I agreed with Finn's lie. I did not know at the moment that the little lie Finn told came with extraordinary consequences, and neither did her.

That night Alpha Larringer demanded that Finn and I become engaged and that we would be married. Alpha Larringer put one condition on sparing my life, Finn and I must give him a daughter. We had to replace the child my brother stole from him with either my life or a life. Finn and I agreed. We never really planned on having children or being together, but things happened.

Finn and I developed a kinship out of necessity. We lived together, ate together, and eventually began talking and laughing together. After many nights in the same house, it happened. I went into his room and fucked him. I promised him that night that we would make the best out of the shitty situation, and we did for several years until I met Alpha Kai.

Now, here we are. Finn's life is in jeopardy, just like my life was at one time. I have to return the favor. I have to save him, but how. I begin screaming like I am dying and banging on the truck door. "Let me out!" I scream.

Henry turns to look at me but says nothing. I have to take drastic measures. "If you want me to marry you, then you better let me out of this fucking truck!" I scream at Alpha Kai.

Alpha Kai is in a heated discussion with Finn that does not look like it is going well, but when I threaten to leave him, Henry opens the door to the truck. "Say what you need to say and get your ass back in the truck," Henry growls at me.

"Thank you. I owe Finn, and I be damned if Alpha KAi is not going to hear me out," I growl back at Henry.

I rush over to Alpha Kai and Finn. Finn is still on his knees. "I told you to stay in the truck Alaska," Alpha Kai snaps at me.

I move in front of Finn and look into Alpha Kai's eyes. I want to block Finn and force Alpha KAi to look at me and how I feel. "You have to listen to me, Alpha," I begin, but Alpha Kai interrupts me.

"I am the Alpha of this pack, and I listen to no one," Alpha Kai growls.

I stomp my feet and begin growling loudly. I point my finger and poke his firm chest. "You will listen to me and have open communication with me. I do not care if you are the Alpha. I need to speak," I growl.

Alpha KAI growls at me even louder. "Say what you have to say, Alaska. We are all waiting," Alpha Kai says. Henry and the other wolves are moving closer.

"Finn saved me. Alpha Larringer wanted to kill me, but Finn saved me. You cannot kill him. He is not like his father. Finn is a good man. Help me, please, for me," I say.

"Let him kill me. I have nowhere to go and no one to help me. My father will hunt me down and torture me," Finn says.

Alpha Kai grabs my upper arm and begins walking me toward the truck. "Please listen to me," I say.

Henry opens the door, and I get inside the truck. "Listen to me, and I can hear every thought in your head. I know what you are thinking, and I know what he did for you, but how do you know he will not turn on you and hand you over to his father?" Alpha Kai asks.

I touch Alpha Kai on the face so softly. I begin to cry. I am not sure why; maybe it is the gravity of the situation. I care about Finn so much, and he has been in my life for a long time. "He saved my life when I had no one to save me. Now, he has no one. So, as my Alpha, I am asking you to please spare his life," I beg Alpha Kai.

Alpha Kai leans down and kisses me on the lips so sweetly. I can feel that he believes me and understands me. He closes the door to the truck and returns to Finn. I cannot hear what they are saying, but it is still pretty heated.

After about twenty minutes, Alpha Kai returns to the truck without Henry. "Henry is taking care of Finn, and I am taking you home," Alpha Kai says softly.

I want to ask him what happened and what he will do with him, but with the other wolves in the truck, I am not sure if I should. Jay Jay and Arnie are in the front. Jay Jay drives back down the long dark road. The truck is quiet. Finally, Alpha Kai breaks the silence.

"Finn will not be a Beta anymore, and he will not be anywhere near you, but I spared his life. He saved you long ago, and I owe him for that. I put him on patrols. He will be at the edge of the pack land," Alpha KAi says.

I take in his words. He spared his life. I know he did not want to spare his life, but he did it for me. I lay my head on Alpha Kai's shoulder. "Thank you," I whisper.
