Chapter 26

Alaska POV

I am cold, so very freezing cold. I feel something damp beneath. Is it water or what? I cannot tell. The room is dark, and I can hear something that sounds like drip drip drip, definitely water. I hear footsteps coming my way and talking. The voice, it is familiar. It is Alpha Larringer, maybe.

The dark creeks and then opens. A small light comes into the room, and I see him. It is Alpha Larringer. "Hello, Alaska," Alpha Larringer says. He is smiling and looking more devious than usual.

I have dealt with Alpha Larringer more over the years than I ever wanted, and now I am his captive. I know Alpha Kai is about to lose his mind, and I know he is blaming Finn for this, but it is neither of their faults. I am not sure if I should take the blame or not! No, this is my family's fault. None of this is my fault or Finn's.

"What do you want?" I ask Alpha Larringer. I try to stand up and face him, but I cannot move. My arms are heavy. I look at my wrist and see something silver in the light reflecting back at me.

"You are trapped, Alaska. Wolfsbane and silver to hold you in place. I have sent wolves for Finn, and soon, you and Finn will be married. Can you guess what comes next? How about a happy little honeymoon? You can have it right here in my basement," Alpha Larringer says. His grin is sickening.

"I will never marry your son or mate with him. I have a mate!" I scream at Alpha Larringer.

Alpha Larringer laughs, tilting his head and laughing harder. Has he completely lost his mind? "I was going to give you the easy way out, but since you want to make things hard for yourself. Well, then, I can be your breeding partner. I was offering you a life, but instead, I will breed you and then kill you when I get what I want you, little bitch!" Alpha Larringer growls loudly and then laughs as I try to move closer to the wall.

"NEVER!" I scream at him.

As I move closer to the wall, I hear more footsteps and screaming. "Alpha Alpha Alpha!" someone is yelling for Alpha Larringer. I squint my eyes and try to see who is coming. The wolves are hard to see, but they look upset.

I hear Finn's name in the whispers. "Finn!" I call out. He will save me. Alpha Larringer snaps his head back around to me and smiles that full face scary smile again.

"Finn has come home. He has had a change of heart and wishes to give me what I want. It seems little miss Alaska you will be having a wedding tonight after all," Alpha Larringer says.

I cannot believe Finn would come home to Alpha Larringer unless he is helping Alpha Kai get me out of here. But what if he is not assisting Alpha Kai? What if Alpha Kai was right and Finn was involved all along? I cannot trust Finn or anyone else here.

The door opens again, and three giant wolves come into the room. One puts on leather gloves and removes the chains from my wrist. I feel something prick my hip. I try to look and see what is happening, but the wolves are holding me so tightly that I cannot move. "That should do it," one of the wolves says.

I begin to fade slowly. I fight it, so I know where I am. I let my eyes close, and my body goes limp. I listen to what they are saying. I know what they did. The wolves gave me wolfsbane to knock me out for what they are going to do to me. I am sure I will be forced to marry Finn, and then Finn will breed with me.

I feel my body hit something soft. I hear the door close and then open again. "Alaska," Finn says. It is Finn. I try to open my eyes, but I cannot.

"They gave you wolfsbane. You will be okay. Alpha Kai sent me to help you. There are a lot of wolves coming to help you escape. I am just here to keep everyone occupied until we can get you out of here," Finn says.

I try to smile or move, but nothing. I manage to move my lips a little, but no words come out. "Do not fight the wolfsbane. Just let it run its course, okay? Rest. I am here, and I will keep watch over you. No one will hurt you as long as I am here," Finn says.

I take a deep breath and try to relax. Everything fades to black.

I awake to a lot of noise. I blink several times. Finn is in the room with me, and so is Alpha Larringer. "She is with us now. Hello Alaska," Alpha Larringer says.

I do not speak. I only look at Finn. I want to see what he does and how he acts before I decide to trust him. Finn rushes over to me. He kneels down in front of me. "Marry me, Alaska, and let's put all of this behind us. I will forgive you for being with Alpha Kai, and so will my father. We can stay here and have a family. My family wants us here," Finn says.

I look at Alpha Larringer. I do not have a choice in the matter. I do not speak. I nod yes. Finn leans in and kisses me. "Well, then, now that all of this mess has been settled, we can move on. Too bad your parents had to die before you come to your senses," Alpha Larringer says.

Alpha Larringer leaves us. I look at Finn. He shakes his head, letting me know not to say anything. "I love you, and I am sorry I hurt you," I say to Finn.

"I love you too," Finn says. I hear Alpha LArringer stepping away from the room. He is listening to us, and I am sure he will have guards watching us until the wedding.

"I am going to run you a bath," Finn says.

He goes into the bathroom and turns on the water. I follow him into the bathroom. When the water starts running, Finn pulls me close and begins to whisper in my ear. "Alpha Kai and his pack will be here to rescue you tonight," Finn says.

I nod. I undress and get into the water. "I will wait in the bedroom for you," Finn says.

"No, it will look suspicious. Stay in here with me. I want to live, Finn," I say.

Finn nods his head. "I want you to live, Alaska. You deserve happiness," Finn says.
