Chapter 28

Alaska POV

I feel as if my head is spinning. The she wolves work on me and ready me for my wedding with no regard for me. The only thing the she wolves worry about is the order they were given by the Larringer Alpha. I hope Alpha Kai does not kill Finn while rescuing me. Finn is here to help me, and I do not want him to be a casualty.

"It is about that time," a voice says as a young woman pops into the room. I look back to see Finn's cousin Joselyn. She is almost smirking at me. Jocelyn is a privileged little bitch if there ever was one. She walks over to me, still smiling. Jocelyn looks positively giddy over this forced marriage.

"Hello, Jocelyn. I am so happy to see you came to my wedding," I say. I try to smile, but I only want to reach up, grab her and choke the life out of her while the plump she wolf watches and waits her turn to get her ass kicked by me.

Jocelyn touches my hair as if to inspect the long curls coming from my braids. "Hmm, Yes, I am sure you are so happy to see me. I am sure you are happy to be here. Everyone knows about the Alpha you spread your legs for and humiliated Finn. You do not deserve him. We all know Finn deserves better; even Finn knows," Jocelyn says.

Jocelyn pulls my hair in such an innocent way I cannot say anything. I will not give her the satisfaction of saying ouch. I just stare at her and smile.

"Finn and I have come to an agreement that is none of your business," I say. This is true; Finn and I agreed that we both deserve happiness. I want him to meet someone and be happy. Finn deserves happiness, and so do I. Neither of us should be caught up in this bullshit, but here we are, knee deep in shit.

"See you at the wedding, Alaska. Do not even think of running. I will make sure this wedding takes place. I mean, if you want to call this a wedding. And just so you know, there are a lot of wolves here to make sure no one interferes," Jocelyn says.

I ignore Jocelyn and her words. I ignore the she wolves, especially the plump one and their taunts. I keep my mind clear so I can hear Alpha Kai when he is ready for me. It will not be long.

I hear loud footsteps, and then the door creaks and is pushed open hard. It is one of those beasts, the giant wolves that Alpha Larringer uses to control everyone. "Bring the bride NOW! It is time to get started," the giant wolf says.

The plump she wolf scrambles. "We are almost ready," she says.

The giant wolf rushes toward the plump she wolf and knocks her to the ground, growling at her. The plump she wolf is crying, and the other she wolves gather around her. I do not feel sorry for her. I actually am enjoying watching her get hit by the giant wolf.

"We will bring her now. Sorry, sir," the plump she wolf says.

The giant wolf disappears. The she wolves pull themselves together and grab me. "Come on, and I guess you are good enough. I mean, this is just for show anyway. You are here to breed and then go to the slave house anyway," one of the she wolves says.

"What?" I ask as they drag me out of the room and down the hall. I try to stop them and ask them what is going on, but they keep dragging me. I should not even be worried about it. I know Alpha Kai is close by to save me, but what if he fails?

"You are not marrying Finn. All of that was just to get you to cooperate. This is a breeding ceremony where you pledge your body to serve the Alpha until he is done with you. Finn is locked away for allowing you to fuck Alpha Kai. I bet Alpha Larringer never lets him out of that pit. You ruined his life, and now we can watch Alpha Larringer ruin yours. I have to say I will enjoy watching this," the plump one says.

A breeding ceremony, I did not realize that was still a thing. It was long ago when breeders were brought and pledged their bodies to the Alpha of the pack. It could happen for several reasons. The Luna could be unable to have a child, or the Alpha did not want a wife but wanted a son to carry on his legacy.

I am led to an open field. There is a wooden platform. Alpha Larringer is waiting for me there. He is smiling. I do not fight. I look over and see Finn. Finn looks worried. I hope he did not turn on us. I look at Finn for a long time, well, what seems like a long time.

The plump she wolf hands me off to the giant wolf, who takes great joy in pulling me and pushing me on my knees in front of Alpha Larringer. "This could have been a lot easier on you, Alaska, but you choose to be a whore. Now, you get to be my whore until I am done with you," Alpha Larringer says.

I shake my head in agreement, but I know better than to say anything. I am beginning to think that my life is over. I know Alpha Kai is here, but I do not see how he can save me. "You are about to experience pure hell, Alaska," Alpha Larringer says. He leans down to kiss my lips.

Suddenly, there is fire, and something loud, maybe an explosion. Wolves begin to run. I look back to see where Finn is and if Alpha Kai is close. I do not see Finn or Alpha Kai, but I do see Alpha Larringer.

Alpha Larringer grabs me and pulls me close to him. "I will fuck you right here," Alpha Larringer says. He licks my face. I ball up my fist and hit him as hard as I can, but it is not hard enough. He grabs me and throws me to the ground. He is between my legs, and his hands are on my throat. "I will kill you!" Alpha Larringer growls. He takes his wolf form while he is on top of me.

Alpha Larringer is over me, growling. "Are you ready to die bitch?" he growls.

Finn rushes his father, knocking him off me. "RUN!!!!" Finn yells at me. I get to my feet and run. I run until I slam into a wolf, Alpha Kai.

"Shift and run until you find Bailey. She will get you to safety. Follow the fires and run as fast as you can," Alpha Kai says.

I want to stay with him, but I know he is right. I do not need to be in the way of their fight. If one of the Larringer wolves gets a hold of me, they can use me as leverage. I have to get out of here.

I run as fast as I can until I see a she wolf waiting for me at the end of the fires. I rush up to her. "Bailey?" I question her.

"Yes, come with me. It is my job to get you safe," Bailey says.
