Chapter 24
Alpha Kai POV
I leave Beta Bailey behind to deal with Finn. I want to kill him, but Bailey insists I allow her time with him. I have always trusted her opinion before, and there is no reason why I should not trust her now.
"Is there anything you would like me to do, Alpha?" Henry asks me.
I get out of the black Suv and slam the door. "The only thing I want is Alaska home. You can start gathering wolves. We will rescue her as soon as Finn gives up the location," I say.
"And if he does not?" Henry asks me.
I had not thought of that. What if he does not tell Beta Bailey everything? Has anyone ever been able to resist her and her questions? No, I think not. Beta Bailey will have all the answers. I know she will.
"Start looking for Jake. Go back to the security quarters and get with Beta Bailey. I want a full report by nightfall, and wolves gathered to find my Alaska. We leave at midnight," I growl.
"Yes, sir," Henry says. He looks worried, but I am sure how to read his face or what he is thinking. He seems off. I hope he is not involved too. I never thought Jake would betray the pack, but it seems he has betrayed us.
I open the door and go into the pack house. It is not the usual night. Usually, there is a party with wolves and drinking, but now there is only heartbreak and pain. I do not want to feel this way. Maybe I should have let Alaska be. Perhaps all of this is my fault. It is my fault.
"Hey Alpha, you need some company? I can make you feel better," Cherry calls out to me. For a moment, I think maybe I should let this go. Cherry walks over to me. Her long blonde hair is hanging at her hips, her perfect body, and beautiful eyes. Cherry leans in closer to me. I touch her face and almost kiss her.
"No, I love Alaska," I growl at Cherry. I push Cherry away from me and start to walk away. There is music and she-wolves, but not the big party like we usually have.
"I want everyone to go home. Get out of the pack house for the night!" I growl loudly.
"But Alpha," Greg disputes me.
"But nothing, take that whore and go. I want everyone out," I say.
Greg has a she-wolf wrapped around him. "Sorry, Alpha," Greg says.
Greg and Dee grab a few beers and head out the front door. The rest of the partygoers follow Greg out of the pack house. "I just want quiet," I say.
I need to think. I need my Alaska. The door opens, and I look up to see who is coming into the pack house. "Bailey," I whisper.
Beta Bailey comes into the pack house. "Sit down, Alpha. We need to talk," Beta Bailey says.
I take a seat at the table, and Beta Bailey joins me. I try to free my mind and just listen to her, but it is hard. I know some hard truths are about to hit me, and I have no idea how to prepare myself for it.
"Listen, that girl that is missing. She came to see Finn right before the Larringer Wolves showed up. They took her to set him up. I guess they thought you would kill him, but then the two came back and wanted his head," Beta Bailey says.
I look around, not wanting to believe that Finn is not involved. I want him to be guilty. I want an excuse to kill him. "Are you sure he is not involved?" I question Beta Bailey.
Beta Bailey shakes her head. "I am positive," She answers me.
"Okay, where is she, and how do we help her and the missing girl?" I ask.
Beta Bailey takes a deep breath. "The Alpha has her, but we both already knew that. Finn wants to help us rescue Alaska and the missing girl. I think you should let him," Beta Bailey says.
"Wait, why did the girl go to see Finn in the first place?" I ask.
"That is the kicker. She came to his cabin to get to know him. She told him she thought he was sexy, and you know where this goes, but they were interrupted by the Larringer wolves," Beta Bailey says.
"Wrong place and Wrong time?" I remark.
"Yeah, for her, a very wrong place and wrong time. Look, I know you hate Finn, but he can help us, and he is willing to help us. He knows the lay of the land, and he can get us close to his father. If you want to get your precious Alaska back, then we need to trust him," Beta Bailey says.
Beta Baily gets up from the table to leave me to think. I know her well. Right now, I know she is right. I need to trust Finn, just long enough to get my Alaska back, and then I want him gone from my pack. Alaska will have to accept the fact that he is trouble. Finn has to go for her safety and everyone in the pack.
This night has been a complete disaster. First, Alaska gets pissed off, then a girl goes missing, then Alaska goes missing, and now I sit here alone. I am pretty sure I pissed off half the pack when I asked everyone to leave. Maybe it is time to change things around here. I am unsure if I am the Alpha to run this pack anymore. Perhaps they need another leader and I .... fuck... I am not sure what I need or want anymore. All I know is that I am fucked up and worried about Alaska. She never deserved this bullshit.
"Alpha," Beta Baily calls out to me.
I get up from the table and follow her calling me. I go out the front door of the pack house where she is waiting with the other wolves, who volunteered to help find Alaska.
"We all want to help," several wolves call out.
Jeremy comes up to me. "You are better with here in a lot of ways. We want Alaska back, and we all are willing to help no matter the cost," Jeremy says.
Several wolves call out to me. "Alpha, we will bring her home," one wolf says.
Beta Baily smiles at me. "Well, this Alaska must be some wolf," Beta Bailey says.
I smile back at her. "She is," I answer.
"I have a plan, and Finn is the bait," Beta Bailey says.
"I already like this plan," I say.
